Download ROM for your version of phone by inputting serial number for your phone
Install Activsync 4.5 if windows XP or WMDC if Vista from Microsoft website
Connect your phone to PC via USB lead
Install ROM downloaded from HTC website

found the ROM but is on German....anyone else can help me???? some ROM from this Forum will be usefull???
Have you searched?. In think you didn't search at all, there are tons of threads about this...stickies and also you posted in the wrong forum.

Did you uninstall the old activesync version before you installed the version 4? it might give you conflict if you didnt.
First install Activesync 4 before upgrade to WM5

Got the exact same problem.
Was already using ActiveSync 4 with my XDA II (WM2003). Upgraded XDA II to WM5 and now when I connect my XDA II to PC by USB I get that 'Generic RNDIS' message.
Have uninstalled/reinstalled ASync 4 but no change. Anyone out there with any other suggestions please?

if you get this 'generic rndis' thing, pls check if you have microsoft service pack 2 (SP 2) installed in your XP Home. if your in XP Professional, you most probably have SP2 installed already.

I am trying to update the ROm on my Touch pro to winmob 6.5, I curently have 6.1.
I tried to do use this Noob guide
But i get a communctaion error when trying the SPL Unlocker tool
I have used active sync on windows XP and mobile center on windows 7 Both have synced with the mobile same errors
Any ideas ?
Have you installed .net 3.5 on your PC for the XP. Havnt tried 7, so no idea on that one.

Hi. I just got a HTC HD2 device that came running with Windows Mobile 6.5. However, I have software that requires Windows Mobile 5. Is there ANY way I can install it or flash a 5 ROM to the device. Thanks.
Did you find any windows mobile 5.0 rom for the HD2? If not, then that's your answer. I doubt anyone is willing to make such a rom on a device this old.
