CyanogenMod and CWM are 2 different things.....

ya so i talked to the dev guis. He said it will be ready by tomorrow. ya kthx!

After source code is released. Which is 7/29

Why does everyone have a raging boner about Cyanogenmod? What is so awesome about it? I guess I should youtube it or google it but I'm at work so I don't really have a lot of "browse time"

Cyanogenmod was ported for my old Samsung Galaxy. It did wonders for it. Never thought that pos would get froyo. Worked pretty good too.

Cyanogenmod is basically a souped up version of stock android. It makes most phones much faster, much more stable, is based on the lastest version of Android (meaning Cyanogen is almost guaranteed to be on ICS before Moto updates the Atrix to it themselves, if they do it at all) and has many options that you can use to fine tune performance to your liking. If your into themes, it also has a built in theme engine so you can apply them on the fly without reboots.

stock android + themes + notification area power controls + vibrate on call connect + reboot / recovery / bootloader options = raging boner

It makes your phone better by stripping Android bare, then adding only useful things. I had it on my Aria, and I liked it so much I'm not going to even bother updating from Gingerblur's 2.2 until CM7 gets ported.

Fair enough, bring on the boner factory! (..........that didn't sound right)

Aside from all the boner-ness that IS CyanogenMod...as to your original question, I must first say that the rule of CM is to NEVER ASK FOR ETAs. But since I'm a nice guy, I'll tell you that the Atrix CM team is currently in Alpha stage and has compiled the ROM and is running it on phones, looking for bugs and such and such. Once it plays nicely with the CM mainline, we'll have our officially support Atrix running CM7

neverrrrrrrr

I would have to disagree ... I heard roms aren't coming out until windows phone 7 is released cause the source code and drivers are congruent to development. Also people are not developing roms anymore cause stock is better. And one more thing our bootloader is encrypted so no custom roms. Sorry. Might you have to switch back to the droid if you want roms now!

Yeah, that was what we thought at first. Now it's ok though.. you just need to get Verizon to give you more 3G's to put on the GB's so that your apps will have their unlocked ROMs. For to bootload. er.
both of u guys are so close to right. brandon so close with his eta, and you were almost right by saying WP7, but actaully we are waiting on WP8. sorry i have a freind, who dates a girl ,that blows a guy, that supplies mop heads to the maintence at microsoft. and my sources say WP7 is a myth. that it is actually android. also im running a leaked version of gingerbread on my lg enV 2. (k so i took it WAAAAYY to far) to guy the poster asking the original question. SOON
Be patient...the phone was just released on Sept 9th....and it's already rooted and the recovery is available...it won't be too long. I think it's going at a great pace. No need to rush devs...I am all for quality product ...cough...2.2...cough...aosp...cough...cm....cough....ruby....cough I think I need a cough drop

[WIP/ROM/DEV/UNOFFICIAL] Android 4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) AOSP Porting (.32)

Hi there guys,
I just read about Android 4.0,released today. As I promised from june,I wil try to port it to you guys (even because I'm not working at any project now).
The first alpha will be available in few days (if all goes well),maybe one week. I already got the SDK dump,so i could try to make it boot, but I prefer using sources. BTW,when CyanogenMod 9 will be released(CM8 is some crappy Honeycomb),I'll make CM9 port.
EDIT: I can't make the SDK boot. Libs are built from ARMv7,but we're ARMv6. So wait for sources to be released.
SOME INFOS:
ROM will be based on .32 kernel tree, then I'll switch to .35
Nothing in mind now.
Current status: Planning to download sources. I need to ask some help too, because I don't know for good this AOSP stuff. Will probably ask to lupohirp

What? ICS is for tablets as well as phones. I don't see any reason for it to look bad because of a small screen size.
I've been playing around with ICS in the emulator, and I've been wondering what the advantages will be for us over Gingerbread.
The UI overhaul seems nice enough, though ICS seems to be designed for devices with no hardware menu button. In the native apps included, there is a bar at the bottom which has buttons that were normally hidden and accessed by the menu button.
This basically means we'll be losing screen space in ICS, unless this bar can be hidden for devices that do have a dedicated menu button, though I couldn't find the option in the emulator.
The ram usage is more than double that of Gingerbread (45MB vs 98MB). Luckily our O1 phones will be able to manage this fine (mine is currently using 159MB, with 243MB free) but for other phones the upgrade is going to render them useless.
The big problem is going to be the sheer size of ICS. In the Gingerbread emulator the system.img is 89MB but for ICS it is 167MB. Which is of course the bare minimum for the emulator, 'real' Android with Gapps etc is bigger. CM7.1 takes up 154MB of the 190MB /system partition on my phone. To get ICS on our O1 we'll probably have to do some partition resizing, which means a smaller /data partition for our installed apps.

- Are the Adreno2xx/GPU/hardware acc drivers running on it?
- Is the wifi and mic functionality stable?
- Google Play store able to install apps?
- Is Project Butter noticeable?

[APP][2.3+] XenoAmp - a bit different audio player

Hi Willybillies and Buzzonians ,
just wanted to point your attention at yesterday's nice finding. If you still haven't found a player that matches your needs (especially regarding playlists and such) have a look at this Beta. Haven't tested all the stuff yet but I already like it - and I have been the guineapig: runs fine on my Willy atm: [APP][2.3+] XenoAmp - a bit different audio player.
Hint: read the OP to find out (the concepts, what it's capable of, if you might like it) - it's worth a read anyway lol.

sad, it's based on CM7 nightlies and has Symp kernel - so it's not much away from my setup. I have seen others with problems (Desire and LG phones for example) - there has also been an "emergency release 0.9" yesterday, but I'm already on release 0.11 - the dev seems to be very responsive to all the bug reports
--- EDIT --- if you tried it 2 days ago it most likely has been one of the very first releases I guess...?
It was 08 version from 16th of august.
Currently I'm on a froyo sense Rom,Will try it with some GB rom ASAP.

I see (looks like some kind of sense fever has been spread over the forums lol). Guess you have seen the remarks on froyo? He said it should work but he couldn't test it (he'll probably like to get some error log...)
I still like it very much - first of all the approach with the playlists (that you just could add titles by selecting them in any file explorer) and the clean UI etc. - and that everything is set up by using a db etc etc - still testing though...

the files on the op are all apk files. Either your system gets it wrong or you tried to open it on your pc with a double-click? The app is supposed to be installed like every other app
Just in case you never installed apps from other locations than the market/play store: this must be allowed in settings
Btw: it's a good idea to post the app related questions into it's original thread (while this hasn't been directly related to the app lol)

It might take a few more updates of the app so that it becomes smooth. The dev has thought quite a lot many thing for the low end ldpi phones. He has slowly started to work upon it along with other requests(which seemed legit to him) from users. Great dev amd a high scope in the market for this app.

He has slowly started to work upon it along with other requests(which seemed legit to him) from users. Great dev amd a high scope in the market for this app.

yes indeed, great dev, quick responses to almost everything. Been about to make the German translation but have been half an hour too late lol.
It's good to see that this highly sophisticated stuff runs almost smooth on our GPU-less Willy. There might be players that are a even more lightweight but compared to the players I've used this is on top of the list (already with a gap to the following ones although an early beta).
For sure if I used my phone as my audio player! I would be using this.
MokeeOS

webos port :)

Hey guys,
Do you think it would be possible to have a port of webos on the rezound.? The beta was just released and I am curious if someone could get it to happen or want it too? Not telling people to do it ,but just curious if people are interested .
Thank you

Unless you wanna do it yourself. everyone's busy with aosp or just source in general. So short answer:
No way.
We really don't want to run an obsolete OS that was dropped about a year ago and will probably never exist again.

WebOS won't be able to work on this device because we'd have to get RIL working on it first. WebOS is only going to be able to be on devices that are in the official AOSP repository (Nex1, S, GNex, Nex7, Xperia P) or devices that have been fully cracked open for development (HD2, DInc, GS2, etc) so most devices probably won't get WebOS unfortunately

Its sweet but the real problem is who actually wants it? I have a feeling someone will port it and everyone will use android. Like on the touch pad.
