My point exactly! (made in another post). The new symbols, and color scheme, are terrible. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out what that one was. How about the new signal indicator beside the signal bars? The old H+ was much easier to see.

OK guys just got my vibrant, yay. But everything has a blue tint to it. Even things that I know are white have a blue tint. Anyone else have the effect and can I stop it. Thanks.

Honestly i dont notice the blue tint. Maybe its because Im parrially colorblind lol.

Even the home page to Google has a little blue in it. I'm going to compare this phone to a phone in a tmo tomorrow.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It's a product of the amoled technology. The blue in the pixels wears out at a much faster rate than the others so they add extra blue as a way to counter act that. It should go away with time.

Hello People,
So I just took a picture of the room I'm in and in the first shot I got this.
Came out nice right? I decided the picture was a little tilet so I took another shot, without changing a single setting and got this:
Why is the first one so nice and rich but the second one is all washed out?? I can't for the life of me get the camera to take another picture that looks like the first one. Does anyone have any ideas what's going on here and how I can replicate the initial results?
That's the white balance setting kicking in. The first time it thought you were outside so it changed the white balance for daylight. The second time it realized you were inside so it adjusted it for incandescent lighting. I've only noticed it switch between those two, so if you want a better picture select it yourself.
Go to menu>white balance>and change 'auto' to the best setting for whatever room you are in.
Ha thanks! THat was it! Although, leaving it on auto gives the washed out picture. Changing it to "daylight" while inside gives the nice deep color
That "rich" color you are referring to is totally off and looks horrible! The second one is correct, notice that the whites are actually white??? The Daylight setting is overcompensating a yellow filter to correct the blue cast that would be there if you were outside in the sun like the setting indicates...
I have to agree with jsls

+2 The 2nd photo has a more natural balance to it. If your using AWB....dont. Auto anything never gives consistent results.

To get the results it seems that you want just use a sepia filter and it will give it that warm look. If you want a "correct" picture the second one is the way to go however. If you like the look then go with it.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Yeah I think you might be a little color blind, because the second pic looks so much better. The color actually stand out. The whites are white not yellow like the first pic. And look at the computer screen, the colors look good.
I like the first one cause it looks like it was taken back in 1912 and sat on the old print out paper in my grandma's closet till this morning.
Dude really?
Let me clarify if you have a light source in shot the auto adjustment will kick in.

And I'm just making a point.... the different angles and lighting will cause different lighting effects with "auto" settings

Since this thread is already created and somewhat related to the alarm clock, I have a question.
Any of you use the alarm clock selection with the HD Station (dock)? I'm wondering what kind of effect this has on the screen over time? Even dimmed down if the screen stays on like a real alarm clock would, is there any potential for burn in, decreased screen and/or battery life (since phone battery is being charged and discharged at same time all night long), etc.?
I haven't seen any discussions on this and would like to get hear from those that use this function.

Now THIS is funny to me because, I was not going to admit it, it was about the same time or more with me before I walked downstairs and asked my boy in mobile support!!! I just did not put it out in public!
this has me wondering, what other crap is here I have no clue about? BusyBox? I got it when I rooted and it takes a **** load of internal memory (like 3Gb+) but I have no clue WHY its require?

Busybox provides binaries needed to perform various root tasks. Basically a toolbox of utilities. http://busybox.net/about.html
Is there a way to only have the percentage to show? I currently have the percentage and battery icon showing in the status bar.
While I'm here, how can I remove the 4G LTE icon to only show when I actually have data toggled on? I know it animates when data is on, but it's clutter in my eyes.
I would like to add that I get 3 or more icons that show up and completely fill my status bar when I'm charging my phone on my computer.
I find I have lots of icons on my status bar when I'm charging my phone, if it helps, I'm using the ATT version of my m8.

I noticed this too. That was one of the many things prompting me to turn mine into a Google Play Edition. So much unnecessary clutter. And something about AT&Ts LTE icon pissed me off lol.
Besides using different roms I'm not sure of a way to change that though...

Awesome, thanks!
This is themed from the systemui of sense 5.5 v4 rom from SinisterTensai and Chubbzlou.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone in the process. Enjoy
So I just want to say that I have very little experience when it comes to editing files. But I have managed to start themeing my statusbar icons. It took many hours and he'll from some great people but I feel like I can continue to do it. These files are not mine I just edited them. If you would like me to edit yours let me know and please give specific details, color code, etc.
Thanks to @Sinistertensai for his guidance and the systemui.apk for sense 5.5 v4
Thanks to @Talon_dgrn8 for assistance and encouragement.
Thanks to @Vinchenzop for pointing me to which files I needed to edit.
Changed- Wi-Fi icon color, alarm icon color, signal bars color, custom battery charging animation, battery level colors Bluetooth icon color, Wi-Fi icon color eqs, Bluetooth icon color eqs, GPS icon, image icon color, image error icon color, mobile data icon eqs, airplane mode icon color eqs, settings icon color eqs.
Expecting to change- adb icon color, USB icon color, keyboard icon color, torch icon color eqs.

Link is now dead, I no longer have this device as my daily and currently work way too many hours to continue work on a device that I am not currently using, while also trying to work on stuff for my m8. Sorry for the inconvenience.
It's not completely finished but if you would like it here you go. Just take the file, rename to systemui.apk, use root explorer, place in system/app, reboot phone, profit.

You're making more progress than I am! Lol.
Just a suggestion for the first post: post the rom version clearly, not just in your thanks. You forced me to read the entire OP to find it. That is what's supposed to happen, but we both know how that goes. Granted, I knew that it was Sense 5.5. just by looking at the font in the screenshot. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
I prefer tweaking over custom themes, and that will most likely be my first step.
So has anyone tried this? How did it work for you?
