I recently unlocked my bootloader, and flashed the Orange FR 2.3.4 update to my phone. I did the RAM fix and I am showing full ram so that is all working fine. The only problem is that my data is not working, i get cell phone reception but no data. It says in the thread that

If you are having 3G/H+ data issues:
replace /system/lib/libmoto_ril.so with attached one, or moto-fastboot new system.img above

My questions are this
1. How do you replace the file in question? (I already reflashed it did not make a difference)
2. It might be my APN setting because they got deleted when i did a fastboot -w, I searched online for the APN settings and this is what I got and have in my phone but the issue still is not resolved.

My hero cannot send or receive text messages. I do not have a data plan or text plan, but I want to be able to do text when I need to. I have tried looking into APNs but did not work. The following is my information:

If its SMS, type in *#*#info#*#*, then go into phone info and manually add the sms centre number for your network provider.
... but this shouldn't affect you receiving msgs so it may be something else.
best way is to ring ur phone network and say ur little cousin messed about with your phone and deleted some settings and now ur phone wont send or receive texts. They should be able to fix it for you. Dont mention root!

Successfully rooted and flashed my first smartphone (p500) using these forums and everything is working fine except for mms. I'm running Noejn's void echo and found the following apn info right on Koodo's (Canada) web site:

This got my data and sms working again but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get MMS working. When I attempt to send a mms my data icon lights up as if it's going but it just says "sending" forever and nothing happens. I restored back to the stock ROM and noticed that the APN type: was "default,mms,supl,dun" so I flashed back to the void ROM and configured it that way but still no go.
As I'm really new to this I thought I'd ask if there is some basic step I am missing in configuring the APN or data network or if this is just because the ROM is somehow incompatible with my carrier. I've searched the forums and web but can't seem to find anything other than the info I've pasted above.

Is what my P500 Shipped with, that should clear it up.
I've installed the Wolf ROM it was a success, but when I try to connect my 3G it doesn't appear the icon of signal.
Does anyone knows what's the problem??

The APN's depend on your provider, isn't it?
To get YOUR correct APN you go to SYSTEM SETTING- > Sony Ericsson->Download settings.
Btw. How can you know that the settings you give will work for pha_el? He did not share anything personal, no country, no provider ... nothing.
Don't take it as offence. I'm just curious.

If you can't connect to it, flash stock rom and tweak it yourself.

Check your APN settings. It could also be a problem with your network and not related to the rom.
The same thing happened to me,I tired everything and even called my carrier.
For me I has to select WCDMA only under the network settings. I did all the APN crap and stuff and it was the simple thing of clicking WCDMA. Hopefully thats your problem
I've been using Wolfs GB rom since v3, am now on v5 and have not had an issue with 3g yet. My suggestion, wipe everything and reflash the rom.
So how do I check if we really got an unlocked bootloader here in Canada? I got my RAZR today and love it.

Data, not working, not getting correct APN settings (and, haven't figured out how to change or modify yet for my carrier Fido). Haven't Android since pre 2008, so a little rusty.

Hi, i got a locked on three phone, i used one of the apps on the market to unlock it and debranded from from three with latest open europe update.
When i put in my T-mobile (UK) sim it boot fine, not unlock code needed, and i can use for mobile internet, but cannot make or receive calls or txt?
I phoned T-mobile and they tell me the phone is not blocked?
any ideas?

When i go to networks i choose automatically select preferred network, this connects me to T-Mobile. Checking the APn i see T-Mobile with green light. Selecting this and checking the details, all looks good when compared to settings when sim is my HTC Desire HD!
Though the layout of settings and detail types are not the same on both phones, the setup details are.

Hi, ok tried two different uk stock roms from link

This worked the same as previous, can register on network and get mobile internet, but no txt calls.

Tried this as KE2 reported to have some issues with orange. T-Moble, Orange share networks.
Same KE2, can get mobile net no calls/txt

This one registers on network, but no mobile internet or txt/calls.
Really don't know why as phone is not blocked by network, or so they tell me. Checked imei number on checking sites and it come up clean too!

hi, i am thinking this maybe a hardware fault as checkmend give it full clean bill of health.
All the settings seem fine in Settings> About Phone and in Setting > Wireless, Networks.
Have good signal, services are all connected.

I see that it is set to GSM/CDMA auto PRL, (My desire was set to WCDMA) even if i change this it always reverts when i enter the screen again. In wireless, networks it stays at GSM/WCDMA automode

As you can see there is some difference?
From searching the web i found these setting below for T-Mobile. The main problem i can see if try and create or edit APN on S2 is that there is no WAP Protocol setting, and APN settings is limited to 3 choices, none which are same as on my Desire HD settings.
