Im on stock rooted gingerbread with the 1.1 overclock kernel, and any time my screen rotates the notification bar freaks out, and if I rotate back, the screen I am on glitches too. If I rotate back again or go to the home screen and go back in to the app, the screen glitch remains, but the notification bar remains glitched. Any ideas?

Yeah, I've been having the same problem.
I turned the animations off and that fixed it for me. It seems to lie within the screen rotation animation. That's just a temporary workaround, but it does get rid of it.

I believe that chainfire can cause this. If you've installed the chainfire drivers try uninstalling.

That makes sense...I didn't have those problems until I installed CF's drivers. Thanks.

I can confirm. Uninstall the Chainfire 3D driver and this will be fixed.
Already had chainfire uninstalled, but turning off animations did the trick, thanks for the help!

Have a slight problem...I installed power control widgets this evening, and in messing with the screen brightness control, I inadvertently turned my screen off! Now even after rebooting several times, I can't get the screen to turn on. It works while booting, and also in recovery. Is there a console command to turn the screen on, or set screen brightness?
Thanx,
~Jim
I did the same thing last night... Just use adb to remove the apk of the widget you installed and you should be good to go!

Tried that, still didn't work. I ended up doing a nandroid restore, but I lost a lot of settings and apps. Thanx for the input tho!

Same issue a week or so ago, I had to remove via adb, then reboot from adb.

I was wondering a couple of things. First of all when I watch YouTube videos and i tap the screen to show the progress bar it slows down the frame rate. And how do I manually go to the white screen after I turn the phone off to get to recovery without removing the battery because I have the otterbox defender case.
Thanks

idk about the youtube problem, use the phone in landscape mode when watching videos and touch the screen and see if that helps.
for the boot thing its called the 4 Boot. when you flash a rom make sure it has it built in ( which most do i believe) and choose to boot into recovery. i hate pulling off my case as well

As JoeyUFC said, most roms will now have the 4 in 1 reboot option. That's when you choose to restart your phone, it asks you to reboot to bootloader, recovery, hot restart, or normal restart. However, the reason you have been needing to pull your battery is because you have fastboot enabled. Shut fastboot off, by going to menu>settings>power. Then uncheck the fastboot option. That way you'll be able to turn the phone off like normal, and boot to hboot without a battery pull.
Also, there's a good app fromt he market called 'quickboot' and that will also get the job done.
As for the youtube thing, I'm not sure. I've never had that problem before.
I guess is a ROM thing. Also i tried both positions and there is a lag

I have seen that same problem. It's either you have very low battery aka power saver mode. Or slow speeds.

Scratch that. It's just crappy coding from Google, guess you have to live with it.

Hey guys i've been having some issues since I rooted. For one my stability has gone down. I'm assuming this is the overclock or maybe the kernel I'm using. But now I can't get my screen to rotate at all. I tried recalibrating the accelerometer but no go.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
In your notifications screen, hit quick setting and check auto-rotatation. If your rom does not have it, i believe it is in settings. This might be it.
Thanks. That was it.

Oke guys, i think i have to make this thread. Bcz i read some threads and still found someone asking about their multitouch doesnt working.
The problem is about locksreen apps.
At least i found this issue while installing widgetlocker and milocker.
I tested by downloading one by one my apps from market and then check the multitouch, and stop when i installed widgetlocker bcz my multitouch doest works again. (It waste my time in about 3 hours)
So, if you had that multitouch issue you can test by uninstalling your lockscreen apps and then reboot. If it still doesnt works you can just ask to rom or kernel devs.
And for devs or smart people (im stupid one.. yeaaa) i hope you could find how to fix this issue, is unfortunate we cant improve our phone themes by install any lockscreen apps.
Terimakasih.

I had this issue with widget locker as well.
To fix it, open WidgetLocker and go into the settings>advanced and enable "Retain System Keyguard".
Lock your phone and unlock it. Now try a multitouch tester and it should work fine.

Oh yea it will work from then on. You just have to lock it once so the changes take effect.
had this issue as well.
For me is was caused by widget locker
Switched to GO locker and the same thing.

Yep I used this some time ago only problem is if you use widgets or app shortcuts on the lockscreen you will have to use the stock unlock after tapping them. Not a huge deal if you don't use any clickable widgets though.

Hi, I tried your solution but it doesn't seem to work with my HTC Desire S (Cyanogenmod 7.1) I put a custom slider and 2 widgets, is that the problem? Does it have something to do with disabling stock lock?
Thanks in advance
Ok so I've tried recalibrating the touch screen several times both ways in other words inside Android and inside recovery. It seems to only partially work. Screen was fine now its not. Archos 101 internet tab gen 8

Well atleast for now it fixed I rooted it flash new rom and kernal and installed the lcd calibrator.apk so it does it on boot up. So far so good!
Ok bad news when I put screen to sleep then wake it up calibration is hosed until I reboot otherwise fine any thoughts from anyone? Just wanted to add screen can sleep for 15 seconds out less and it is fine any longer it looses calibration. Anyone know of a way to kill back log but not the screen???
