Sell whatever you have right now, buy Nexus S 4G off-contract and save your upgrade for the next big thing.

This is the correct choice. Sprint is due for a new phone, and anything you get right now will be outdated soon. The Nexus S is your best bet for a relatively affordable phone off-contract right now, because it's already got ICS unofficially, and behind the Galaxy Nexus, it'll likely be first to have it officially as well.
Don't get an Evo 3D. The 3D is cool, but barely anybody can view the photos and videos you make with it right now anyway, and the difficulty it apparently adds to development has choked our dev community when compared to other phones. It's frustrating.
Just make sure that is not a Samsung phone....couple of friends at work have the new epic touch and i havnt heard anythin good about em
And yea just get a watever phone and hold your upgrade like that you can get a way better phone in the near future...
I have the Evo 3D and honestly i have no complaints but thats up to you
Use your upgrade wisely!

I would go with a 3d just for one reason Samsung does not update there phone fast enough. My wife had her epic since day one and a few weeks ago she got 2.3. While the og evo had 2.3 six months earlyer go with HTC but that's just me

Sprint has the 3vo on sale right now for only $49.99 . Not sure how to post links through the app but it is on sprint.com.

Basically they are selling iphones way more than any other phone so I am sure some of their inventory is starting to collect dust.

Well this way doesn't involve trading in an EVO 4G.
That 50$ offer is really making me ponder upgrading from my Hero, but can't decide if I want to wait for the GSII Epic Touch to drop in price instead.
Wow supersale.imagine when it first came out.its expensive, they made lots of money like 6months ago.LOL

I have a hero right now, upgrading as soon as I can get the login info for the family account.
Just took advantage of this deal. Hard to beat. Hope the 3D is as good as the hero was. We shall see when it arrives.

I got my 3d for free technically. My local Walmart has it for 98 bucks and at the time (i think theyre still doing this) they are giving 100 dollar gift cards to anyone that gets a smartphone... So basically they paid me 2 bucks to take it off their hands. Being that this is my second one i was scared itd be hboot 1.5 but apparently back home no one buys sprint phones because coverage is spotty at best..... So i ended up getting it with hboot 1.3
And to they guy debating on epic touch or 3d... Id recommend the 3d if you like custom roms. There are a lot more options with roms, kernels, and overclocking with the 3d. I had it and wasnt overly impressed except for the gorgeous display. Damn i love those amoleds.

That is probably exactly why my brother just picked up a 3D for $49.99 from the Sprint Corporate strore here with hboot 1.40!
yeah i had to jump on this offer also. I just couldnt let it pass, I would have kicked myself in the ass.
Don't you have to renew your contract though? I mean it's not like you can just buy the phone for that price without renewing or signing a new contract....?
At Besy buy today, and see you get $50 off bringing it to $150, then he says trade in the evo 3d and get $100 more off. So im asking a stupid question and should know the answer but want to ask people that have the phone already. Would I be crazy to pass this phone up for $50?
That is a really good deal. If you liked your Evo 3D you will hopefully love this phone!
I would say GO FOR IT but I am a little biased as an existing owner
definitely.. night and day between those two phones. (I owned a evo 3d too)

Im gunna throw the orginal sprint RUU on there and take it in and trade it, he said I didnt need to lock it so I think thats pretty fair. Now If I can get this rom to dlownload quicker we will be in good shape lol
Being a evo 3d owner and og evo I defenetrly think is a step up, specially when it comes to camera, screen, battery and software

I traded my EVO3d at best buy for $110 and I never looked back. I'm even in a WiMAX market. This phone is awesome I can't put it down. My XDA post count went up 10 folds cause of this phone.

Which is, of course, the main reason to get this phone.
In all seriousness, getting the phone for $50 is a pretty good deal. I'd say it's worth it.

It's worth more at BB if you have the Buy Back program. They gave me $350 for my Epic Touch. If u dont have Buy Back I think that is accurate. Radio Shack gives even less. You can/should definitely get more for it elsewhere like Craigslist. But it is a major step up from the 3D in every aspect. Only thing it lacks is removable battery but the battery life so far has been awesome!

I came from an EVO 3D, and I couldn't be any happier. This phone is legit, for sure.
I traded in my original EVO 4G and with other rebates I ended up only using the $50 gift card I originally preordered with.

The EVO 4g LTE is a great phone but I would just wait a couple of weeks for the SGSIII and make your choice then.

I'd have it already if Sprint would hurry up and reset my upgrade date.
I called Asurion for a replacement for an evo 3d. They said they don't have any in stock anymore and they wanted to give me the OG Evo. I told them no, so now they offered the Motorola photon. Should i take that? Has anyone received a better phone?

Haven't people been getting the Epic 4G Touch for it?
Only accept equal or better value. Anything less talk with a Supervisor. And if that doesn't work, call another time or another day until you get what you want.

Agreed. I work in this area, just keep asking for someone higher.
Why do people call assuron? If it is hardware defect take it to a coorporate store and get replacement. What was the reason u were asking for a replacement?
To answer your question I wouldn't take it. I would take a epic touch 4g maybe but no photon.

Correct, IF it's a hardware defect. If the phone is lost, stolen, dropped in water, etc, you have to go through Asurion.

I got a E4GT from them almost 2 months ago, but I hear that they're even backordered too, a user over in those forums reported that he had filed a claim to replace his damaged E4GT & they tried to offer him a Evo 4G Design & he turned it down because its not as close a comparable device for his E4GT, but in all fairness the Photon is comparable to the 3D, but if you're able to somehow get a E4GT then get that.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
They offered me the OG too and told me to get it, and wait a few days for the 3D to get in stock, then they'd ship the 3D. I would have taken the photon though.

Wonder what's going to happen when they run out of OG Evo's now. They going to offer Motorola StarTac's. WTF

Hey, StarTacs were awesome. I never had issues with poor call quality on that beast. Great reception everywhere due to its high tech telescoping antenna.

no sorry no startracs but i did have them tell me when my brother called in about getting his ip830w replaced they still have those in stock lol
Any updates as to what asurion is sending out these days? Cracked my screen and don't really want an sgs2...
Sent from my PG86100
I would absolutely take the Photon. It is better than the Epic Touch and any EVO until the LTE EVO. The Photon is one of the best phones to be released.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
As would I... However I don't think they'd be sending us that new stuff.... More than likely if not the 3d then the sgs 2 but hell I'd almost take the old photon over that pos. I have no desire to get an lte phone until they get it near me. Last I heard Columbus Ohio isn't even on the roadmap yet.
Sent from my PG86100
Just tried to see what they were offering.....for me they were offering another 3D as replacement.
Awesome. I think I'm one of the few that doesn't actually want the sgs2. Too big and battery life doesn't compare. I never really saw the speed difference to be that big either
Sent from my PG86100
So I don't know if anyone else is thinking about getting this phone, it has caught my interest. I went to the Sprint site to see what's going on there, and they are advertising it as coming soon. I went to check my upgrade eligibility and then looked at current phones they have. To my surprise the OG Evo is selling higher than the LTE with 2-year contract. To top it off the OG is preowned. That's crazy right?
Anyways, what's everyone think of the new HTC phone?
One is with a contract the other is without a contract. No it's not crazy
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I actually have wimax coverage where I live and work but no LTE, not crazy IMO
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I have neither, and I guess they priced them differently for upgrade pricing. I checked again and it is cheaper if you sign up as a new customer. I never post on these forums but I thought maybe someone would be interested in some nerd discussion. Thanks for the replies, but in my opinion, its crazy to still sell a phone that old in any condition.

Yea. Samsung phones have always felt cheaper to me. The interface is definitely nothing compared to sense. The only things that turn me away from the One, is that it doesn't have an expandable sd slot. Then again, neither does my iPod and I never run out of space on that. Then again, it is an Apple product. I'd like to know which developers are going to the One, that could also be a sway. Imagining Viper on it, I think HTC should hire some of our developers to perfect the interface.

As my signature would imply, you don't need to make Nexus plural when you've already used the plural form of devices

Real question is does The One replace the Evo branding. I don't believe HTC would make Sprint or any carrier specific variant of The One. This is exactly what they are trying to get away from. They want 1 device on every carrier that they can market the crap out of(ala galaxy). What do you guys think about that? I love my EVO LTE, I think its superior to the GS3 and I love having a phone that people ask "what the heck is that" because it looks different. Is this the end of the EVO or just going to delay the EVO launch until the luster of The One is over??
Can't wait for the next evo.

If HTC sticks to the whole one phone for all carriers (which they would be smart to do so). Then there is no more Evo.
