[Q] Easier way for Data2Ext? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Is there an easier way to active data2ext that I just haven't figured out yet?
Everytime I try a new rom I have to flash data2ext and run the full list of commands in terminal emulator...is there something I'm missing that makes the process a whole lot quicker?

yea, use link2sd

Is that the same as data2ext? I can get my 1 gig of internal memory?

Yesjust backup your whole SD card to your computer and format your sdcard, next in recovery go to advanced/partition SD card and pick what size you want, then download and open link2sd and pick ext 3, reboot your phone and reload your SD card from your computer to your phone, and you will be able to link all of your user apps to your sdcard, giving you virtually unlimited space.

Personally, I like data2ext far better than link2sd

data2ext automatically installs everything to sd. link2sd you can customize which programs to send to sd.

havntt tried data2ext, but link2sd works for me, they added a multiselect option recently and you just move all your apps in one go, i have maybe 40 apps and 230mb on my ext, and 60/200mb or so on my internal

[CM7] Free up System Rom space on Touchpad?

I'm currently running CM7 Xron ROM and I'm aware that it's 200+ MB on it's own. Any ideas how I can free some space up for an instance like this?

Root explorer. Under system/app delete cmwallpapers.apk for gaining 5mb in system. I also delete file manager, email, protips, rom manager, cyanbread(as long as your using the green theme your ok).
That should give you more then 15mb right there.
Also make sure cm setting/application/install location is set to automatic, moving larger games to SD card automagically.
You can try a cache cleaner, it check music, maps and other hogs too.

Will give that a go tonight. Thanks

ICS keyboard, unselects on reboot.

Hi I had ics keyboard free by johntanmi , I got pro version but it doesn't stay selected after reboot. It goes to android default after reboot. Saw no link or option to contact Dev in market, can I set this KB as default somehow? I used to use slideIt, but the app stopped working, the KB wouldn't open up when pressing a text field to type.
Suggestions?

Is it saved to your external SD? When I had swiftkey x installed on external, my keyboard would revert back to android after every reboot. After I moved it to internal, it stayed as default keyboard.
Woot, titanium backup showed it was on SD card, I moved it to internal, should fix the problem! Thanks. What's, the difference between internal(phone), SD card(phone), and external SD card(bought separately)? Can I have cwm put and use my backups from external SD card?

I had Rom Toolbox set to install apps2sd. Rom Toolbox is like many highly recommended apps in one. I'm noticing its settings aren't conflicting with other apps, but rather in sync. Its smarter than I originally gave it credit.
Its "app2sd" "SD speed increase" "memory optimizer" "titanium backup" "root explorer" "rom manager" "adblocker" "font changer" "rebooter w/ all functions" probably about 20-30 more FULL app functions in 1 app... wow.

Move apps to SD?

How did we lose the ability to install apps to storage card? I've run out of space and need to free up

It seemsvyou cannot do that. Its the same on Asus transformer. Except you do some mod to trick the system to understand that ext sd is int-sd.

Mind blown, why lol it's like a couple steps backward,l

I have read on Asus Transformer forum that it's the way Android is. Your int-memory will be seen as sdcard, and ext-sd is just external memory for movies and music or other stuffs. Hopefully, someone can do the mod to trick the system like the guy on Trnasformer forum.

Can someone tell me why anyone would want to move apps to SD with a galaxy s3?

To free up internal memory for other uses, like the OP states.

Not possible yet...
Don't try any of the apps2SD apps. Still not possible to designate our Galaxy S3 extSdCard as "SDcard". We'll have to wait for devs to figure out a work-around. Why Samsung chose to label internal memory as SDcard is beyond me and it stifles our choices. But then they also change the TRRS pin-out for the headphones/headset so it doesn't work like every other phone out there...

I think i have memory issues! D:

Hey! I need help. I think the internal memory on my sgs is dead! I only have 1.98 G of internal app space. The internal usb storage is good but the one for the apps in very low! HELP!

Internal storage is system reserved partition for system files only. Like Windows folder on your computer. The apps and your personal data are stored on the internal sd card that is 11.5 Gigs.
Its the same on all GS2s. Mine is also 1.97/98.

PRL manual update

I would like to update PRL from phone, manual update. Like other phones that have modified hidden menu apks. From playing with short cut master I found SPROmadmHiddenMenu. Which is part of Software Update, com.lge.lgdmsclient.apk.
Here is an image of the Menu. It seems to look for a PRL to write, I just don't know where to put or what name to make PRL file.

Here is stock LGDMSClient.zip. I can't decompile odex file on my phone, my computer is broken. If anyone can decompile and find out how to do PRL write test, then we should be able to write PRL to our phones.
The s3 used TEST.prl at the root of external sd card if I remember correct. Maybe the g3 can do the same.

I tried from internal sd, I will try external.
Let's hope to see if it works.
Update:
didn't work, could be my external sdcard is formatted with ext4 fs.
If anyone with a normal external sdcard can check please.
