Where are boot animation sounds stored? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, I've been looking for a nice galaxy s boot animation and found just that in the "Bi-WinningV2_MultiLang_signed" ROM. Although it did not contain a "bootanimation.zip" it did contain two files as a replacement one dubbed "bootsamsung.qmg" and the other "bootsamsungloop.qmg". So, I deleted my "bootanimation.zip" replaced it with the two files and have a nice working boot animation. However, in reveiws for the Bi-wining ROM there is a boot animation sound to go along... my boot doesn't have a sound so I'm guessing there's a sound file for it somewhere... but my question is where?

Use Root Explorer and go to system/media and you'll see the sounds your talking about. My build has 2 files listed there.

Simply Honey 4.0 w/ 1.2 Bullet kernel. Badass Rom \m/

That's the sound files? Because I deleted my bootanimation.zip with those files and I've got a working boot animation, but it still has no sound...

Edit: /system/etc/PowerOn.wav is the location for it to be and the sound type.

[Bootanimation] - FroyoBread

Ok, now when I'm finished with it I would like to share it
It's nothing special and it could be better but... I think it describes FroyoBread perfectly - doixanh had a wish like Froyo heart beats and glows inside Ginger, so here it is.
EDIT: If you have some suggestion or idea feel free to tell.

How to install:
1. rename to bootanimation.zip
2. push it to data/local using Root Explorer or adb
3. remove cm6/7 from system/media.
4. reboot.
If doesnt work, try to copy in system/media and data/local.
bootanimation_ddi - modifeded by dx (14fps) - recommended
bootanimation256 - 256color and double frames(30fps)
bootanimation - double frames, but 24bit
Thanks to Gesbleg for his logo I've used here.
can you also make android energy star bios animation hehe
Thanks a lot m8.Dx 'n DDI FTW!

Its on system/data/local..
It's not on system...it was on the main folder: data/local.
Worked for me with the recommended one.

Call of Duty-Black ops boot animation.

I know that MW3 is out. Anyway, here is a boot animation that I created for the Evo 3d and should work with any Rom. You will only need to use root explorer or something similar to copy and paste into your specified directory depending on what Rom you are using. Meaning, whether you are using a Sense or Aosp Rom, the directory will different.
You will use this directory for Sense: system/customize/resource or data/local if your rom supports it.
This for AOSP: system/media
and make sure you fix permissions and then reboot.

Also if using a Sense Rom you can leave it named as it is, but if you R using an AOSP Rom, you will need to rename it bootanimation.zip.

Here is a video of the boot animation I made so you can see it before you download. Frame rate in the video may not correspond exactly with animation:

Simple Aperature Boot Logo/Animation

So I was bored and decided to make a logo/animation for fun. So here it is:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And in animation, all it does is make the letters glow (Honestly its pretty lame but ok for a 2 min job)
I will also take boot logo and animation requests. (May not be fast but will do some.
Edit: Forgot to tell y'all just to flash in CWM Recovery (Yes I'm from Oklahoma )
Enjoy!
Awesome, I'll flash it soon.

Hey this is really great, thanks! I just have one problem: I flashed the file you provided but all it did was change the boot logo. I'm not sure if that's a problem on my end with procedure or ROM or what, but I would really like the animation too. If it matters, I'm using CWM Touch and am on MIUI V4 alpha 2.

Weird. Might be because of MIUI's theme association with the boot animation.
Well I'm going to make a new version anyways some time.
In the mean time just unzip it and move with root explorer the bootanimation.zip file into /system/media with excact same permissions as the old one.

I have been playing around with boot animations and i have a few questions.
I am running westcrips ics 4.0.4 resurection rom 1.7
I have changed the bootanimation a few times but cant seem to get the sound to work.
i have also made my own custom boot animation but i want to add sound to it to top it off.
could any one help me please?
also.... is there any way to replace the samsung galaxy logo screen on boot up ?
many thanks
jim
The bootsound is copied to /system/etc
Drop it in there and all should be good to go
Tried that... still nothing. Any idea what format the sound needs to be ? I put .ogg and .wav
File name. android_audio. ?
sent from my i9100 using xda n westcrips ics rom awesome!

I'm not sure about the stock kernel of resurrection rom but kernels like n.e.a.k. or siyah(?) have those features to change the boot screen logo.
Stock kernel animation works
And boot sound I have no ideal
I've tried put the poweron.wav into system/etc but nothing happed

Rename the PowerOn.wav to PowerOn.ogg Set permission to this using your Explorer

Tool band Salival boot animation

hey there people.
before i get started please BACK UP your phone! just in case YOU screw up.
so i decided to make myself a boot animation w/ sound based on the Salival DVD that the Tool Band released some years ago. This is my first attempt (hopefully not my last) at making an animation. so i have tested the animation and it works perfecty fine on my HTC AMAZE. It is not a flashable zip, so please do not flash. please unzip and place both files in their boot animation folders. i believe that particular folder is rom specific. (Please excuse me as i am noobsome). however i am running NRGZ28 latest ICS Energy rom and the boot animation folder location is under:
system/customize/resource<----place bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 files here!
Too NRGZ28 rom was missing the some coding to allow the sound file to play at startup.
Go to: system/customize/CID and find the default.xml file.
open the defualt.xml file and on the lower half of the file you will see this as the default settigns:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please make the change as follows:
add in: "system/customize/resource/android_audio.mp3"
dont forget to save.
I hope those of you who like Tool will enjoy this animation.
Please view my youtube video on the animation prior to downloading (i dont want to waste your time)
