[Q] A question about wifi problem on galaxy s2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my gs2 has connected to home wifi
it has a signal on top, but i tried to surf the internet
and then it indicated that web page not available
sometimes is ok, or not
is it a bug on galaxy s2
thanks a lot

I haven't found any bug till now besides the Wifi signal icon remain low sometimes but that doesn't effect the browsing effect imo. Have you tried to open other pages or is it just happening with a particular website? If the latter then I don't think its a wifi problem.

3G connection on 10.1

Hi..
I just bought a tab 10.1
Somehow the 3G connection is not stable.. it will suddenly be turned off even though mobile data is on..
I checked the apn settings and it is blank.. typed in my own and after awhile it disappears too..
Is this a known issue?
Anyone facing similar issues?
Sent from my Energized HTC Sensation
For some reason my 3G data is not pulling through the tablet either. This is from my Galaxy Prevail
Are we the only two with this issue..
Wonder what is the cause:
Sim card?
Hardware?
Software?
At a lost now..
I have a similar problem. On my unit the H+ is displayed only when there is network activity and when there is no activity it turns to 3G. Problem is that this causes about a second of lag on every click on the link before it turns to H+ and then starts to download the page.
Another problem is that the signal strength display in ASU is suck at 4.

[Q] wifi issue

My wifi connection often wrong, always in after a period of using, have no access to the Internet. Every time the wifi turned off to open another can get to the Internet, can wifi signal is always full. I searched a lot of method to did not solve, including XDA * # # 0011 turn off on wifi power save mode, when problem solving, but after a while just the same. And with only G mode and so on route, are not solutions. Change a lot of Rom, the kernel baseband all not line.Who's a way to solve?
I am not sure if this is the case but - have you tried different router? My S3 for example has issues when I go to my friend's house (he has some old/er Belkin router). However, when I am home wifi is blazing fast and no issues what so ever (cisco e3000).
my phone has a slight different problem, the phone detects strong signal for all my wifi, but will only save it, and not connect right away, some will not even connect, and sometime the speed is very slow.

I am sure there is no porblem with the router,SGS2 and IP4s with the same router is fine.
I'm getting WIFI problems when waking from deep sleep. My settings are set to keep WIFI on when sleeping only when plugged in, as i find this extends my battery life a little more.
Sometimes it reconnects when waking up, and other times it doesn't and i have to turn WIFI off and then on again to force it to scan and reconnect. If i don't do this and check WIFI, it says it's scanning, but never finds or connects to a network.
Anyone else get this?! I read somewhere about sleep of death on GS2?
There is a known problem with the wifi, I have just changed my phone and so far evrything is working.
been through 9-10 phone with different problems.
Ok, i've tried turning off WIFI power save in the system settings *#0011#
I'll report back with my findings in terms of waking from sleep and possible additional battery drain...
Turning off powersave didn't help on my speeds tho. My SGS2 can pull around 5-600KBs a second, while my SGS3 only pulls roughly half despite being at the roughly same location (ie laying next to each other)

[Q] Problems connecting home wifi

Hi, I have a Galaxy SII from AT&T and I have problems trying to connect the wifi at home, When I tried the mobile is connected just for a few seconds and then suddenly it is disconnected, but the wifi network still displayed. If I go to youtube, fb, twitter or any other application the icon shows the green arrow saying data is sending, but the orange arrow is not flashing. I tried to connect to other wifi (public places or friends) and it is working fine without disconnecting. One thing I notice is if I try to connect at home and start tune in, I will be connected always meanwhile tune in is running. My ISP is Century Link and my laptop and ipod don´t have problems, just the galaxy. I called the ISP and they said everything is fine with my signal and my modem. No I have the app wifi fixer running just to reconnect each time the mobile doesn't have wifi signal.
My galaxy is unrooted, running Android 4.0.4 Baseband I9100XXLQ6 Kernel 3.0.15-1114882 build number imm76d.xwlpy
I hope somebody can help me.
tried erasing your home wifi settings and re configure it?
might be a conflict.
Thank you, but i did it also i removed all the wifi network and still the same problem

This will be hard to debug without further information.
You should try to take a look at the log files of your phone and your AP. On your phone use CatLog to record what is going on when you try to establish a Wifi connection. On the AP side the manual will tell you if and how you can access log file information of the AP.
i'm still smelling ip conflict....this might not be a phone problem but a router problem.
might wanna look into that.

My Galaxy is SII I9100 unlocked, that's why I posted here my question. I don't have problems whit the carrier, it is with my home wifi only. I removed all the other saved wifi connections, made a factory restore, but still having problems. My modem is brand new, I have 2 weeks with it. all other devices connect correctly and don't loose the connection, even my Ipod, also I set a static IP to the sgsII without results. I only have internet for at max 40 secs then the wifi icon is showing just the green arrow (sending data) but no orange arrow (receive data). My only "solution" at the moment is us wifi fixer, I installed the cat log as one of the user responses but I don't know which word I have to track there are many WIFI.
try setting your router to dynamic assignation. I'm pretty sure that is an IP conflict.
Problems started - with the phone only - around the time you got the router?

Hi my router is in DHCP mode, I only have 3 devices connected, my laptop, Ipod and galaxy sII, the problem is present only with the phone, I followed this video and changed the wireless channel and the internet holds for a while but after 5 mins I don't have any response from the router. just the green arrow. Modem model Actiontec C1000A attached are some images of my router configuration as well the log, it shows the elapsed time between connection and disconnection it is because wifi fixer checks the connection and
tries to repair it if it not possible then turns off and on the wifi
I have the very same Problem! Internet works for a few seconds or minutes. Suddenly all downloads etc. stop and only one arrow in the wifi symbol is flashing. Tried a lot of things now. Have no problem with other networks.
What i tried:
g -> n (but one of my devices don't supports n =( )
20 to 40 MHZ -> No connection @ all
Fixed or dynamic ip -> same result
All other devices work great with my thompson router. Disable and Enable of the WIFI give's me a few more minutes with connection. Programmed now in tasker that wifi is disabled with display of...
Greatz

You said it was "from AT&T", so I assumed you had an SGH-I777, which is the model AT&T sells. I stopped reading, so I missed where you said it was an i9100.
Anywho, try changing the channel on your wifi router.
Look at this guy & his S iii; doesn't ring a bell?

So did you try all the other ones?
I tried with all the channels, still same problem, also with static IP and the problem still there, my only workaround is connect to wifi, start immediately tune in, and the mobile is able to receive emails, whatsapp, etc. but if I tried youtube, then tune in is disabled and the video starts the streaming but suddenly the mobile is not getting more data from the router, I'm able to watch just 1 video 2 min long

What should bother you is that you can connect to any wifi network, but your home's.
Burn that router down!
....or try another one.
yes, I will call to my ISP and ask for a new one. Sometimes I want just to watch some youtube videos without turn on the laptop or simply use my wifi to save some Mb from by dataplan

You should go to someone you know who's got the same ISP than you first, try it there. If it works it's your router, If it doesn't it's you ISP config that's creating a IP conflict with your device.

[Q] Emails not updating over Orange 3G

Hi,
My 3G signal seems to be fairly poor at the moment. Is this likely to be Orange or phone based?
Frequently, when browsing the internet at home with very slow if any pages loading, I have to turn my data off to allow it to use the wifi network. Recently though im having trouble with my emails, where it doesnt seem to want to update when im not using wifi. It currently says 'updated on Saturday'. When i click on either of my email tiles on the home screen the first thing it shows is that it cant connect to gmail etc, even though it has a full wifi signal!
Any ideas? Or do i need to have another moan at Orange?
Thanks,
Steve

Internet terribly slow on S3 Tab.

Hi all, have a Galaxy Tab S3 and the Internet seems to run really slow. We have Virgin 200mb and is connected about a metre away from the router using 5GHZ WIFI. I've also tried 2.4 but same results.
Internet on all other devices is fine, laptops, pc, phones.
I've attached a video to show what's it's like, if anyone can help
https://vimeo.com/337910686?ref=em-share That's the tablet.
https://streamable.com/ta8wj That's the iPhone which I'm typing this on.
Edit: I've tried different browsers, YouTube is slow and buffers, I've tried Killapps to close whatever is running in the background but it didn't help.
Have you tried different wifi networks? Like at work/school or something?
And if you have a T825... any chance to try a 4G connection?
No issues here...
