Hi all, i have a little question after spend hours with ustream and veetle and trying hundred of roms
Seems Android is not capable to HD streaming (at least, broadcast), ¿is this true? a Ustream employee says:
------
Android system is not capable of HD live streaming. Encoding HD video in realtime requires hardware acceleration on a mobile device. The native camera app has access to it (that's why you can record in HD), but 3rd party apps are blocked. However, we're working on improving the broadcast quality, but don't expect HD broadcasting on Android anytime soon.
----------
UStream and veetle are unable to broadcast in HD with Gingerbread but under ICS Veetle start broadcast but show bad in client.
Tested In galaxy S2
Anyone knows if is a Android known problem.??? Perhaps a mod could fix this problem?
Many thanks.
It is not an android problem as the bbc are broadcasting hd video which you can watch live on android devices.

Also youtube videos can be watched in hd too so may just be the app developers problem in coding that feature.

Hi. thanks for response, but the problem i try to explain is that 3rd party apps can't access to hd resolutions of camera, (to broadcast, to UPLOADING a stream), of course is possible, with hundred of apps, download streams in hd, (see HD tv, HD youtube videos, HD broadcasts initiated from a PC)... but in this case camera of phone is not needed to downlaod streams....
I tried all broadcast services as ustream, make.tv, veetle, justin.tv... and nothing, all mobile broadcasting are VGA resoltutions or lower...
really is impossible for Android device to "throw out" without cable a video resolution better than 640x480 ???
Iphone seems can do it
Hello!
I am searching for an application for android device to use it as ip webcam (like foscam etc..). It should provide live stream over internet (web) and it should include remote trigger for motion detection. App should be able to send photos to email adress.
I tried tons of app on play store, but noone has the things i need.
Tnx
Hi,
my requirement is i have multiple android phones installed at different places. Each have 3G internet connection. I need to PUSH the stream to Web-Client that has multiple embedded players in a webpage. This is surveillance system. I have not designed the webpage Yet.
This is a Live stream but i may want to record video on hourly basis in later stages of project.I don't need to store the videos more than a day there by releasing the space occupied. This storage of file can be in my local sdcard or on my webserver.
Basically i want a Peer-Peer Live Streaming. My scenario is MANY-ONE. There will be only one viewer. For this, Do i really need a Mediaserver like WoWza or RED5?
I have seen many forums. I have tested Wowza on my localhost and it is working fine, if i want to test over the internet.. i mean push my stream over 3G. I am specifically mentioning this "*pushing Live Stream over 3G*" because many people may offer a solution of Port Forwarding which i tried. When i did port forwarding my port "8080", i could see my local stream over the Internet by using my External IP of Router. Basically, my phone now works like an IPCamera.
But this is not what i need. I need my android phone to push the stream to My Own public webserver that has HTTP..My WebServer is not a Media Server.
My question is Do i need to use a Media Server like WoWZA or Opensource RED5? As there will not many people watching the stream, Can i avoid this?
Please Help!!!!!
Hi All,
And my apologies if this is the incorrect forum for this.
I have a minix and one of the main things I wanted this for was to use the livestream.com app to watch the rugby league whilst I live overseas. Just to be clear this is a legal stream and official app available in the play store.
When I load the app onto my box it all loads fine and I can get to the channels, when I then click on a stream to watch, it just loads a still and the spinning loading icon just sits there. livestream have not offered any help for this or any reasons why. So I am kind of on my own trying to troubleshoot this desperately.
Interestingly if I view the streams through the android browser it works fine, but if I use Chrome I get the same issue as the stream tries to open in MX player and just spins.
Just wondering if any of you smart cookies can help me try to figure this out and get some kind of workaround?
Cheers
Dan
Hello all,
The Netflix app starts and runs fine, but it gives me the error of OF.NA.3 and says Download Feature Not Supported. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as other video apps I use work just fine for offline viewing.
Does anyone have a fix for this or know of a version that works for offline?
