Best ROM for Mini Pro - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi Everyone!
I'm very intresting what ROM is the best.
Please write the name in the comments of the ROM
Tell me what you think!

Best ROM for me is cyanocomb 1.4
D4rKnYsSys has done a fabulous job, its by far the best one I've tried as its fast and has good battery life. So far the only crashes have been whilst surfing the web for a couple of hours straight. Everything seems stable and all hardware is working good (GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi and Camera).
Until someone comes up with a fully functioning gingerbread (I.e. camera) then I'm sticking with cyanocomb... and as soon as D4rKnYsSys comes up with his gingerbread I'll get that. In fact, i'd probably wait for it.
D4rKnYsSys, slade87 and Orwain have been the most wonderful developers so not too fussed about roms from anyone else.

Hi, yes I like cyanocomb 1.4, it's a very good rom! andread v9f is good also, very stable
on my mini pro
regards

The best ROM's include:
GingerDX
and
MiniCM7 v4
Because they're:
-superfast, I got score of out of screen with MiniCM7 v4;
-superlight, there's no bugging **** included;
-superstable, they (almost) never reboot;
-having fully working high-res camera, 5MP;
-having GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi etc fully working;
-having Dual-touch fully working;
-having a great batterylife, mine was at 6% while a few hours later only 1 percent dropped;
-having a nice layout design.
Good enough?
;;Ofcourse there are more, I just took these just for a quick view.

Yoe your right but i posted new theard becouse i cant decide

For me the best is froyocomb 1.4 if you want a froyo rom(Fast, stable and no problem of battery drain ecc) . If you want a gingerbread rom i've tried the MiniCm7 made by paul-xxx and works fine In the MiniCm7 you can modify the app's permission and that is a great thing

just curious... Why do you prefer froyocomb 1.4 over 1.6?

I agree both ROMs are starting to beat 2.2, but there have still some smaller bugs.
But I cannot agree with battery life - it's draining faster for me than on 2.2 ROMs.

yes, some minor issues to be sorted out still with the 2.3 roms.
in terms of battery life, for me, 2.2 seems to be better than 2.3 (i performed battery calibration with both). although 2.3 is significantly faster/smoother than 2.2, its battery life seems to be suffering because of this.

For my the best is GingerDX because it's the fastest one and has more features than 2.2/Froyobread.

Should be because of that - it's true 2.3 is incredibly fast and smooth!
On the other hand I have a personal feeling that even undervolting doesn't help - and I don't know why.
But anyway now I'm in battery calibration process (for GingerDX 006) so let's see what will be result ;-)

[Q] Q) Which ROM to go?

Hi to all XDA members,
Got an X10a with Global 2.0.2.A.0.24 rooted with Dual Touch....
i want to change my ROM to a custom ROM.....
I went to XPERIA X10 Android Development sub-forum and found lots and lots of customed ROM.......
so i want to know and have suggestions which is the best custom (2.1)ROM for X10a which has least bug(rather say no bug) and can work blazing fast......
Also Is it possible that Flash (adobe flash) can be pushed in to 2.1 ???...... can it be done ?
" I m really sorry if this is re-post since i tried to find it on X10 Q&A sub forum didnt got any such details "
i'm Using Eminence and installed Eternity 2 in my friends X10 and i vote for Eternity 2 . it's more faster and easier and jit included.
pick one you like.
I recommend eminence v1.2
I'm obviously biased, but check out kX10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913610
Why bother with a 2.1 rom when free10x has a working camera and is a million times better than any 2.1 rom? Get with the times
If you want something stable, use the modded SE roms like Eternity or X10iUser's rom. ( Basically Sony's normal 2.1, with some theming and tweaking; no Flash on these ones )
If you want to experiment with the newer Android versions, I'd suggest using Z's FreeX10 2.2 b2. However, this rom is still under beta stage, most of the functions work, but there will definitely be some glitches here and there. ( FreeX10 2.2 is capable of Flash 10.1 )
PS: do everyone a favour and make sure you READ all the info of that rom before posting in the dev section.
Best of luck.

True, the >2.1 ROMs are nice, but I completely rely on my phone. There's still too many bugs, and they aren't 100% stable. Plus I see no benefit other than Flash, which is not a benefit to me.

I have not had a single reboot or issue whatsoever.. I have found it to be 100% stable..
Well if you consider having your quadrant score nearly double (mine is 1500+ now, was like 800 before), not to mention the far superior memory management of froyo, I think you'll see there are far more benefits than just flash. Do some research on it..
Well i use Eternity, and I love it, and its blazing fast with no problems
I would highly recommend that if you go for 2.1,
I can't say anything about the 2.2, because i'm holding back until the video capture works correctly (i think that the only problem now, right? or was that fixed?)

higher battery consuming (around 20 hours) - Many Apps FC Specially Task Managers - other small bugs . Z Did a Great Job in his FW but still not completely stable .....as a smartphones user who likes to show his X10 to his friends you don't want to see your x10 reboots more than 1 time per a day. It's annoying . Once the camcorder is implemented and these bugs are fixed i will directly install the 2.2 fw on my smartphone . I'm Really Excited .

You don't need task managers or killers with froyo, they have issues even on official froyo. Read up in it.
I have not have even one reboot.. also the battery consumption is actually better than 2.1 due to the better memory management.

I didn't mean to offend you. I have read up on it, and while the higher Quadrant scores are nice, I didn't see any real-life performance improvements over a tweaked 2.1. Maybe others do, I don't know. I'm just saying that for me, I would rather have a rock solid ROM than a few bells and whistles.

That's exactly why I can't use 2.2 as a daily ROM. If they ever get 2.2 or 2.3 out of beta, I will definitely use that instead of 2.1.

Stock 2.1 Vs FreeX10 2.2 Vs CM 6.1.3 V4.1 Vs Gingerbread

Hello All,
I have been following XDA from a long time. I have tried all the roms on my X10 posted by diff devs. Here is my experience,
1) For 2.1, Bluesparks Rom worked the best and gave the maximum battery back with the best 843 QUADRANT SCORE.
2) in 2.2 segment, I tried FreeX10 beta 4 and CM 6.1.3 v4.1, although both roms work almost similarly, i find FreeX10 more clean and some how looks better on x10( after applying the semipertal HC theme).. CM rom makes the phone look cheap and the set of icons just dont look good.
Also the battery life is almost similar for the two roms But its was about 70% of the one with 2.1 rom.
Also, one problem with the 2.2 roms is the dialer(not the battery issue) , the dialer looks bad..stock 2.1 dialer is awesome with big picture of the caller..My view.
3) Gingerbread scene is still not set.. roms r not very stable..IN my view best would be to wait for the rom designed for ARC to be made fully functional on x10 and then use it. they tend to heat the phone as well.
GUys please post your experiences and share the ways, how u worked out your problems so that we all can use the device the way it is meant to

Don't forget 2.2 TripNMIUI with Arc home and widgets..It looks fantastic in my opinion!! and all work fast and properly!! ..howerever..i think that cm6.1 is more personalizable than Free X10..but anyway they are two good roms!! You are right saying that the dialer of 2.2 and 2.3 is not so nice like in 2.1..I hope that Trip can fix his TripNArc rom so we can have the SE awesome dialer back again!!

[Q] Best ROM for battery life?

Hey there, I've to give this awesome phone to my father, who needs one, so I can take a newer one.
The thing he cares most is battery life, so, which ROM do you suggest me to install?
So far I think I'm getting the best with openOptimus, but I'd like to hear your opinion. Maybe the new void #forever?
LOLv1.4 gives me d best battery life with a drain of only 3-4% over night for around 8-9 hrs with data off n in 2g mode..!!
I heard that the stock LG Gingerbread has wicked battery life.

It all depends on the usage. I can suggest you 4 options for the follwoing usage pattern:
Moderate number of calls, lot of texting, couple of hours of music, couple of hrs of brwosing over mobile data/1 hr of browsing over Wifi, display brightness set to 40%, all sync and background apps turned off except when internet is ON and a lot of monkeying around with the phone like changing wallpapers, ringtones, etc.
The above said tasks are what I do on an average day and the battery lasts about 30 hrs. this is a smartphone BTW
Option 1: Void forever with franco's kernel (I would recommend v17) -> looks plain dull and you need to flash a lot of apps if you need them.
Option 2: Andy's ROM with andy's kernel (with franco's kernel, I faced some battery drain, though it was not too much) -> best ROM IMHO. Very good UI, Very colorful and smooth.
Option 3: Mik's ROM with franco's kernel (again v17) -> not very visually pleasing. But almost same as Andy's performance wise.
If you are looking for a froyo ROM, I've tried only openOptimus and it has a battery life as same as the other 3.
But again, it depends on the usage

Andy's ROM was pretty stable for me at 729/480 OC. I got kernel panic at 748/480 OC but 729 is stable. I personally feel Andy's ROM as more smoother than Mik's as I'm able to use live wallpapers without feeling sluggishness anywhere in the phone, which I couldn't get in Mik's. But opinion differs. All are excellent ROMs at the end of the day

Guess he's working on a totally new ROM, not based on CM7 but on CodeAurora. Let's wait and watch.
Ive been wanting to giveAndy's GB 2.3.4-rc4.1 a try for a minute, but have not been able to find the rom section dedicated to that rom...Ive used everything from Devoid Froyo Final to Megatron V1 to Mik_os's CM7 rom, but have not tried out Andy's GB 2.3.4-rc4.1 rom, can anyone point me in that direction for his rom ?
I've been using mik's CM7. but i reverted to offcial gb because cm7 lacks the night mode feature in camera. (it helps to capture better quality pic at low light situations)

If you have the new baseband, data is not going to work on Andy's ROM.
[EDIT]: GSM also won't work, unless you flash the baseband fix from Mik.
I'm currently on 6.5.7 with zacks v3.4 kernel plus soundfx.zip/a few other scripts and battery life is great but like others have said its all in opinion and yeah openxoptimus has exceptional battery life. I'd use open if I could flash the data fix but I don't have a computer. What good is it to have openxoptimus without data.

I'd use Miks 6.5.7 plus Franco Kernel 19.4.

It's decent, that's for sure. At least on Franco's 16 august Kernel
I generally get about 40 hours of light use out of it (some phone calls, some browsing, 3G & sync on all the time, couple pics, facebook, bit of wifi, bluetooth only when in the car). I leave data on all night long, too (I noticed I sometimes get higher battery consumption with data off).
If I have 66% or more left after the first day, I don't recharge (otherwise I do recharge because I'm not sure it will last another 24h)

Oh no... not another "what's the best ROM" question...

This one is a little different though. I am on a MIUI ROM, and have been for many months. Next month the Galaxy II is coming out for t-mobile, and I will be upgrading. And that means my wife gets the vibrant. Which means this phone "just has to work". As much as I love MIUI and cyanogen, being at the tip of the spear means having to put up with some things that just don't work like they are supposed to. Like GPS and battery life to name two. Stock would be an option, but if I recall, stock sucked on battery life AND GPS, correct?
So, what is the best ROM nowadays for stability (including GPS) and battery life? It has been so long that I have had a froyo ROM on my phone that I really don't know who is at the top now.
Oh, and by "best ROM", I should have said "best ROM & kernel combination".
the Bionix ROMs are pretty stable for the most part (though they're not really supported on xda anymore). http://sourceforge.net/projects/bionix-v/files/
I suggest trying ZenDroid. It's one of the very few froyo roms still updated and supported. Has all the newest build.prop tweaks, gps works perfect for me, has great battery life, and it's as stable as they come.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079517
EDIT: Ah yes, forgot about the DMZ kernel. Thanks to Mdtolic below for bringing that up. I have to agree with him about the ZenDroid/DMZ kernel combo.
Sent from my ZenDroid using XDA Premium App
I've been on MIUI for a week or so now, and GPS has worked perfectly on several trips around the area. In fact, it's working better than when I was using a Froyo ROM. Battery life is still good as long as you do a reasonable undervolt and use Titanium Backup to freeze useless battery hogging software (Gallery, replaced with Quickpic, Maps if you don't use navigation, etc)
Still, if you want rock solid stable with great battery life, try Toxic8 with KB5 modem and Bali X 1.2 kernel. Once you set everything up for her along with a theme she likes, you'll never have to tweak it again.
Be warned though. As far as smoothness is concerned, nothing compares to MIUI. At least in my experience.
Jcc's toxic roms are awesome. Everything works as it should and he has a new rom(deranged 9) cookin now!
Sent from xda premium using ToXiC 8
I have come to learn that "the best" ROM/Kernel combo for one phone, may not be the best combo for any other phone.
For me, ZenDroid is perfect. To get the best battery life I use the SuperDragonModz kernel. ZenDroid comes with Bali UC and I think that works great for most folks.
ZD has an AOSP theme too; in case your wife would prefer a "clean" Android look.
That Ultimate 2.2.1 rom is fairly awesome. It is smooth, fast and good looking. Works perfectly with the ffc mod. Has decent battery life and the GPS will connect in mere seconds (9 of 11 birds, 20 ft after about a minute or two). Keep in mind I did the hardware fix posted here. It is my top choice going back to froyo coming from a variety of gb roms.

[Q] Most Stable working Rom

Everyone's got an opinion on the "Best" rom, I just wanted to see which rom the forum thinks is the most stable with everything working.
I've tried lots of them and cant decide.
Obviously, it is Wolfbreak's rom. hands down.
T.A.E.M rom is great i think its better then wolfbreak's rom

MIUI is best...
I have found Oodie's CM ROM has been great

Battery life is good as is the stability.
for further stability, any stock se 2.3.3 rom ( locked and unlocked bootlaoder)
custom:
miui- oodies light version, also i used tripndroid rom which was pretty stable as well..u can find this one in modaco
cm7- zmods 2.3.5

ohh you're damn right. for me, that is the best of the best. REALLY THE BEST.
@deckerm, if you want a recommendation from me, try ThGo2. There is a new version, the v13, but a bootmanager kernel needs to be fixed. but there's a stable version of the rom, just look at it, and you will look happy.
but for the majority of the people here in the forum, Wolfbreak's rom is the one.
but for me, hands down. ThGo2 rom. ^^
I like EWJet, its super fast and everything is working great!

Stock rom: Wolf, ThGo2 and ... ----- stable and can be fast with custom kernel
cm rom: FXP is ****ing fast, MIUI has greate UI.
For long term stability, Wolf is the rom. T.E.A.M. is good, too. Currently using prime, no problems except the ones I create. Any rom must settle some and although our phones are X10, they can react differently to the same rom. For your poll, Wolf will probably be on top.
I totally agree!! For me Wolf's Rom gives me best stability & fastest Gingerbread Rom I tried so far!!!
Only thing I regret is not having anything to flash no more :'(
Great Rom!!!!
Sent from my X10 using Wolf's Gingerbread UB
I like TEAM.
I started to have stability problems with Wolf's rom after 1.5 mo of use w/o flashing (stuck on start-up after reboot, stuck in airplane mode). I switched over to TEAM for the last 3 mo. and no stability problems and speed is good. Then again everyone's phone reacts differently due to settings & apps, so I say try one, and if it doesn't work, try another.
MIUI Prime for me the best rom I had before. Very stable, nice and long battery life (about 3-5 days with 2G only, synch off, brightness 40%).
Oodies CM7 for me. Great battery life and smooth running.
wolf's ROM does not really give the best battery life possible.... I'm still looking for a ROM that can give best battery life.

Probably not but I don't think that any Rom can make my battery last much longer!! My battery normally lasts about a day, while heavy usage!! I Also calibrated it.
If you want your battery to last for a long time, I'd suggest to buy a larger battery, that's just my opinion.

Needles to say that Wolfbreak and Oodie did a ****ing great job on this rom´s but i don´t like how MUIU looks like Iphone or BADA. Because why did we buy an android device? because it has to look like ab Iphone? Well...
