When I get a Calendar notification with my screen off, if I unlock the lockscreen, it goes directly to that event. Then if I back out of that event, the notification is cleared from the status bar. Is there any way to keep that notification pending in the notification bar?
bump
Anyone?
So nobody has an answer for this? There's got to be a way to keep the notification pending in the status bar.
Open up the calendar app and press menu and select settings. Its an option there to set reminders. You can set it to remind you ever 5 minutes. I think that might work. Also try just hitting home instead of backing out of the event.
Hope this helps.

I was hoping there was a way to keep it there without getting a reminder. Just want to keep in the status bar until I clear it.

Yup, it still clears out of the notification bar.
Humm. Then I'd say try a different calendar app. If you want to use the default them I'm thinking reminders is all it can do.

Gotcha. Is there a good calendar app that syncs with your Google account?
Unfortunately I have no idea man. I just use the default and an app called "to do list". I'm sure there is but I really have never tried any of them. So I really can't recommended anything. Maybe someone will read this thread and make a good suggestion.

No worries. Thanks for your help man.
If you go into calendar then menu settings look around in notifications, there is a setting for pop up and one for notification bar. Just enable the notification one and you are good to go. A great calendar app is "calendar snooze" check it out it has a real snooze function with pop up and or just notifications.

The 3 settings are "Alert", "Status bar notification" and "Off". I've got it set on "Status bar notification".

I've been wondering where the notification settings went to in the 2.3.5 gmail app?? I can't find the option to change the sound or make it vibrate. The sound is no biggie but i really miss not having it it vibrate. I've done a search and even looked through the gmails help section and found nothing.

i have galaxy s2 with 2.3.6.I want notifications to be seen on widgetlocker lockscreen but i can't.I just see them on status bar of the phone that is at the top.
Need your help
Open the WL settings by choosing WL from app drawer, then use settings capacitative button on phone. Go to "popups" & make sure you have untoggled "hide sms popups."
EDIT: Meant to say go to "settings/popups."

Go into widgetlocker settings advance and now make sure you have a check tick in box for Show Notification Icons...

That won't solve his problem. All that does is place a WL icon on the notification bar. He wants popups, I think.

Hmm. I don't know. I would suggest using the "report bug" option in WL settings menu to email the dev. He has been very responsive to my problems in the past. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
Just looking @ my gosmspro settings and I see that I had to specifically enable popups. What notifications are you wanting that you are not getting?

I got the SGS2 yesterday as well and have the same issue. No popups when i get a Text.
I was hoping to get the Notifications Bar. I have the SGS 1 and in the widget lockscreen i can pull the Notifications Bar down but with the SGSII this is not the case at least not with a PIN. I like to have a PIN on the phone but still be able to do simple things like read text messages or change a song. The sense lockscreen can do this.
I don't get why samsung made there lockscreen so plane that if you enable PIN,Password/Pattern you can no longer side to go in to message or call log. Was hoping the Notifications Bar would be a good work around but no go
I'm a little confused, so does the S2 have popup notifications for sms? I never seen them just get them in the little status bar...
I am running UnNamed rom, and using WL. On the WL screen, I have placed a scrollable widget, "Call Log Scrollable," available on the Market. It works fine, updating on top of the WL screen. (You have to have scrollable widgets enabled, but you can do this with a launcher program like Launcher Pro, without having to root.) I also have no problem with SMS popups from my GoSMSpro text program. These are all easy to use, and may solve your problem. None of this requires root.

Thanks this is somewhat what i was looking for. I see it has a widget, I would love it add it to my lockscreen but its just to big. Is there some small only that does not have all the buttons similar to the iphone?
Also I see the popup, but if i don't do anything an the screen turns off and later turn on the screen the popup is gone yet when you unlock it it's on your homescreen this is kinda annoyng which is why i think a small widget just on the homescreen would be best or similar

You can resize any widget on WL by opening the WL app from the app drawer, which will bring up the WL screen. Long press on the widget and you will get a popup menu allowing you to resize it. Be sure you are setting the icons as "widgets" and not as "shortcuts."
Not sure what you mean by being able to see the popup. Isn't that what you wanted to begin with - to have an sms popup appear on the WL screen?
Here is a shot of my WL screen.
can try downloading sms unread count from the market. i use that for calls/sms notifications.

What happens is that when you have Go SMS Pro popups active, the popup will show up on top of WidgetLocker just fine.
However, if you are reading the popup on top of WidgetLocker, and the screen turns off in the middle of reading it, turning the screen back on (in order to read the rest of the text message) will cause the popup to disappear and to have WidgetLocker go back on top of the popup.
Then when you unlock WidgetLocker, the popup is on your homescreen. It gets to be quite annoying.
It seems that Widgetlocker allows the popup to be on top only once, but doesn't let it continue to be on top. I've emailed the dev of WidgetLocker regarding this issue but never heard a response.
Another quirk is when you read the Go SMS popup on top of WL, then try to touch "open" to open GoSMS, it doesn't open GoSMS but instead goes straight to the stock lockscreen (and not widgetlocker), at which point when you unlock it, it then goes to Go SMS.
You can modify the WL screen timeout to a different setting from the system screen timeout, using the WL settings menu.
As for me, I don't want someone to be able to access GoSMSPro w/out going thru my lockscreen. Personal preference, I guess.

a bit of necromancy, but I happen to have same problem as OP. got free version of NOVA launcher, and widget locker (phone is rooted, and root helper is enabled). still no missed call/messages notification on lock screen. I even downloaded Tesla Unread, activated through locker widget settings, and still no notifications.
I'd appreciate any advice!
So, a little while ago I had to reinstall the stock texting application and odex file on my s4. In doing so, I can send texts again like new but for some reason it's not displaying the notification for a message on the lockscreen.. (rectangle that says "New Message" that you click that takes you to the thread) I'm not sure why it's doing it. I have the notifications enabled and hangouts disabled. (turned off) The screen still lights up with a new text and vibrates and even has the status bar notification, just not lockscreen. If anyone can help me, that'd be awesome. Also, can we keep the bias 3rd party messaging opinions out? Thanks so much in advance!
What ROM are you running? Are you using a custom clock widget (like Dashclock, cLock, etc.) or do you have the stock Samsung clock?

Thats strange. try clearing data on messaging and then re-check preview message in messaging settings.
Yeah, I tried that.
So here's what I did to fix my issue,
1: I was running the build.prop hack for the s5 status bar. I returned to stock build.prop and did a battery grab reboot.
2: Not that it's relevant, but I cleared all data for Google play services.
3: *Important* I cleared my cache then all data for the Messaging app in settings. Reboot and reopen the app and it worked good as new. I hope this can help someone with the same issue.

How did you get rid of it? I want it enabled, but I'm just not a fan of having the thing in my notification area.
Thanks!
p.s. I'm sorry I'm not helping since I can't get it away yet. lol

Just long press the notification and select don't allow notifications
EMUI 10, p30 pro, Digital balance notifications
I'm on a P30 Pro with EMUI 10 and also disabled the Digital Balance notifications through the dropdown menu, but I can't get it back.
I don't see a Digital Balance app in the app section nor does it pop up in the notification section of settings.
Does anyone know how I can enable this again?
Hi, I understand that it may sound lame but this notification is driving me crazy.
I was googling a lot but still don't understand why I am getting it few times a day.
Looks like this is something called weather tomorrow from Google.
I disabled everything I cloud found in Google settings and in Google assist that correlate to weather but still nothing.
Any idea how to stop it?
It could also be linked to chrome news/weather feed.
Have you tried disabling it by swiping the notification itself to the left and press the settings button?
