Hi Everyone,
Radio = 2.15.50.14
hard spl = 2.08
magldr = 1.13
Clockwork Mod = 3.0.25
I'm a little new to putting Android onto HD2 and am hoping someone can help me with a strange problem.
The current state of my HD2 is that Android is installed and working. I've tested a couple of different ROMs and at the moment I've got a NEXUSHD2_Gingerbread ROM on it. My problem is that I can't receive text messages. I can send them fine and they are received at the other end, however, when someone sends me a text, I get an error saying "Text-message memory full"and if I check the detail, it says Incoming message rejected due to full memory. Please delete old messages. The funny thing is, I've only just installed the ROM and have NO texts, NO Apps and NO files on the SDCard either. This is the third ROM that I have tried with the same problem so clearly it's something I'm doing wrong - I just can't work out what!
Can anyone help please?

SMS
We've sent and received SMS with the new ROM. Could you describe the problem in more detail? Do the SMS messages just seem to go into a black hole both ways, or does some kind of error happen?
i fixed it already, i just didn't get the messages, and ppl told me they've sent me. but i installed afterwards the sms_fix.cab, and suddenly it works again.
thanx.
sim card holds sms messages
Hi all,
I have a same problem. When people send me a sms, I cant get it from my xda. But if I remove my sim card and use it another regular phone, I see there are lot of sms messages.
What is sms_fix.cab?
If this cab is for show names from sms messages, I have already installed it.
I use XDA-Developers.com special edition rom v 1.1. My boss had got a old bios. I try to upgrade his bios, but he has got still same problem.
My problem have started after new bios. Both of us can send SMS.
ROM Version: 3.17.03 ENG
Radio Version: 4.01
I dont want to hard reset it, because I just finished to install of hundreds of tools also I dont know it will work or not!
What can I do?
Thanks a lottt.
Rom as given but still can't send sms
Hi
My rom version is 3.16.32 ENG, Radio version 4.20.00
I have the phone unlocked with the xda manipulator (now using vodapone) and had received a sms message successfully from a colleague but I just can't send a sms. I clicked on the contact and tap "Send SMS" but it just don't do anything and when I tap on "Send SMS" under the tools menu in the phone , it also don't do anything. I read that someone said caller2picture prevents someone from sending sms. Is this true? Can anything be done to make it work even with that software installed?
Would appreciate any help or advice.
Cheers
Vic
HI all,
For the benefit of forumers- a cold boot restored full functionality of my sms service. Must have accidentally deleted some important files.
Cheers

Gidday peoples...
I have just upgraded my Qtek1010 to 3.16 from 3.14, and now when I go to reply to a SMS message, the name and number of the contact concerned are displayed in the "To:" field like so:
To:"NAME" <NUMBER>.
When I go to send the SMS, the phone reports an error message stating that "No matching entry was found for "NAME" <NUMBER>. Would you like to continue?"
I can manually delete the name and <> and then it sends (with only the number remaining.
On version 3.14, I had used SMS Name utlity and could reply just fine... Only the number was displayed when I chose 'reply'.
Please help...
This is driving me nuts!!
Thanx
Madman
This is a known issue with that ROM. If you often use the device to send/receive SMS, may I suggest upgrading to 4.00.11 ? It is really much nicer when it comes to SMS.
Thanx for that. I might just have to do that.
Being a bit of a lay person when it comes to the ROM side of things... the latest ROM version offered by my phone supplier here in New Zealand is 3.16. If I download and install a 4.00.11 ROM and install, am I likely to have compatability problems with my GSM provider here?
I found this ROM kitchen:
http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen/
Will the 4.00.11 version from there be okay do you think?
Thanx very much for your help by the way.
Sorry, one more question:
If using the above ROM kitchen, which of the following should I select at the top?
No AutoConfig data
Original O2 AutoConfig data
XDA-developers AutoConfig data
Thanx again
depends on where u at, and whether you know how to setup your phone for gprs. if you do, then go for no autoconfig, saves space.
The autoconfig settings only apply for ROMs based on 3.17.03, not for 4.x ROMs.
All downloaded and installed with no problems.
Thanx alot for all your help.
SMS problem fixed.
Hello, I upgraded using the kitchen rom to 04.00.16 ENG T-mobile. I really like this new OS, and that Voice Command program is really useful, but I have noticed a few problems that have occurred since installing it.
1) My unit freezes alot requiring a soft reset atleast 1-2 times per day.
2) I can't to seem to keep anymore then 3 programs running at one time. My xda seems to want to automatically close programs when I start opening the 3rd applications.
3) My 256MB SD storage card was spontaneously erased by my xda! And it happened twice! So I am getting pretty fed up. I have already lost alot of information and I don't want to keep doing this.
Does anyone know about these issues? I am beginning to think that 2002 isn't so bad. Atleast it doesn't erase my SD card and freeze all the time. I am trying to give 2003 one more shot so I tried installing it via the exe file, but it says "Error: Get device Data - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. Error getting device data." It also says "Cannot execute the remote communication program. Please make sure that the USB/serial cable is properly connected. " I restarted my labtop twice and did a soft reset on my xda twice as well and it still does it. And I frequently connected and disconnected the usb cable to make sure the computer recoginized it, which is has on a consistent basis. I am beginning to think that I should have just stuck with getting something stable like the special rom edition, but now I can't get this installed due to the errors I have been getting above. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
Quang
i've had non of those issues with tmobile's 4.01.00 rom
though have a program i love which dont want to run on mw2003
Ive re flashed to the excellent rom by Vlodeck all is good apart from not being able to received or download mms. I can send mms ok and i can send mms to myself which open ok but all others will not download. Anybody got any ideas?
Have you configured gprs correctly?
All sttings for o2 in the uk have been confirmed. this was after i tried the auto detect. I can send an mms to myself which opens fine suggesting that I have the correct settings but when i try to open an mms I have received it doesnt download. Tried new settings from o2 this morning and messgae downloads to 4% before I get the message stating unable to download message. Prior to o2 this phone was on t mobile on wm5 and worked fine, could it be something to do with the file type in trying to open? Many thanks for your help.
I have to say, I've never used MMS feature on my charmer. Maybe someone could confirm whether or not MMS works.
It may have something to do with the text format, not sure though.
I reflashed the same rom and managed to recieve an mms from another o2 customer! This was after I resized the mazimum file size to 100k, not 300k. Later on one of my previous messgaes from somebody else tried to download again but would not complete. Im at a loss?
Ask your friend to MMS a single picture to you (below 100kb). See if it works.
All messages were less than 100k to start with. I have tried a new sim card which is still the same. I can receive from o2 but not other operators. I did try to flash back to the t mobile wm5 rom to start again but even that has failed now as I get an error message 260 pop up! looks like im stuck with a partially installed wm6. any advice on how downgrade to wm5 so I can start from fresh will be appreciated.
Ive just read a thread relating to problems with o2 and mms. seems to me that the problem I have is that o2 doesnt recognise my device from the settings that are stored on my device. Does anybody have a list of the registry relating to mms from a wm5 rom? (I would ahve flashed back but seem unale to at the mo)
Hello,
I have seen a lot of threads talking about sms reliability, but nothing about this, perhaps someone will have a clue.
I noticed I didnt received any sms since one days or more, and someone told me he sent me a sms, then I started to search on google etc. In fact, it seems that when someone send me a sms, the phone seems to wake up (backlight), but nothing happens (no sms notification, no sound, and no sms at all).
Anyone has got this problem ? Something to do with some HTC patch ? If yes, how can I know if my reseller included this patch or not in the stock phone ?
My config (stock):
RADIO 2.07.51.22_2
ROM 1.72.73.3
Protocol 15.32.50.07U
HTC Manila Core 2.5.20121433.0
System 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
NB: Apparently, I checked and I am able to send SMS without trouble. It appears also that after a restart, I can receive some sms (for how long ?), but I never get the missing ones, and impossible to know when the problem occurs...
*bump*
problem reproduced, no clue about how to correct this
if anyone has an idea, please let me know (or an idea to debug this)
perhaps collateral effect of a registry change, or related to CHT ?
I had this problem once ...I flashed the radio in my signature and installed the messaging client from HERE...I'm not sure which one solved the sms problem but right now my phone works brilliantly...Yet to find a convincing enough reason to flash a custom ROM except to get a new look interface.
Before you attempt to flash the radio make sure you read the thread about flashing radio/ROM VERY CAREFULLY.
The messaging client also has specific instructions to install which are detailed in the thread.
Were you able to solve or figure out what the problem was?
