Is anyone having problem playing videos while using 3G?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
I don't have any problems watching or uploading videos on youtube.
What's on my evo 3d
http://youtu.be/sw0VW-dmO5A
Website: http://www.completeevo3d.com
Down load jetvd it works playing YouTube videos. It will even play 3d videos too.
Sent from 3days in the future and still no dang S-off !!! WTF
In my case it doesn't play in 3g whatsoever. It only plays videos on 4g not even wifi.
Sent from my 3VO using XDA app
What does it say. Mine will say something like this video not formatted for mobile. But I will play it on another player
Sent from 3days in the future and still no dang S-off !!! WTF
It doesn't say anything it just never loads. It will show. Loading..... And it will stay like that forever. The longest I waited was 15 mins & even after it wasn't fully loaded (same on wifi regardless of speed).

I'm having issues with it while on 3G. I keep getting,
"There was a problem while playing. Touch to Retry"
Ok. Now I know there's a problem. Thanks for the replies everyone. That's why I root my phone. That's why I put custom roms on my phone.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Last update to youtube fixed the issue. I then rooted and the problem is back. Doesn't matter which rom I use I can't get it to work, even after updating the app. Dammit!!

I found 2 huge bugs on the 3vo. Watching espn app side by side next to the evo. Evo in sync and no screen tearing. Evo 3d out of sync and crazy ass screen tearing. Lol upgrade hmmmm. Also swype locks up. Definitely sending back if they keep the bootloader encrypted.

Bumo, anyone else having this issue. Could someone please try this for verification. Thanks

Same Issue Here
Using EVO 3D in stock , rooted and with Custom ROM same issue. WatchESPN sounds great and looks great if you can get past the constant lines rippling across the screen. Not sure what to do here very upset by this. Extensive Google searching as reveled on a few threads talking about this and no one has an answer as of yet . I will be emailing HTC and ESPN.
I updated to the latest version of Adobe Air (released 10/04) which WatchESPN uses and it has fixed the tearing video problem for me.

Love how people automatically blame the phone for apps not working correctly. It is the app makers responsibility to make sure that their app works on all phones if they release it for all phones. Take for example, Netflix. When it was first released, it was only released for a couple of phones becuase Netflix tested on these phones. I am sure that ESPN will release a new update that will say something on the lines of Bug Fixes for EVO 3d and probably a couple of other newer phones that have just came out. Just wait it out and stop blaming the phone.
I've noticed that the YouTube app on this device has some pretty bad lag so far. Like slightly worse even than my POS Samsung Moment. Scrolling while videos are playing cause really bad stutters and slowdowns. YouTube works fantastically in the browser but the standalone app seems lacking.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Really ? No problems here I prefer it over my iPhone YouTube app
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
It's only ever bad for me when scrolling between comments and such during the video, and it's really not too bad, but it is the one instance where I feel the phone is a bit slower than it should be.

So far it has been awesome. Maybe your over analysing.

I probably am over analyzing it, and the slowdown I see is probably just a compatibility issue that I'm sure will get resolved. Regardless, here's a video showing the slowdown I'm referring to.

This thing always stops playing video. This version and the latest version from the market. I will just stop with "An error has occurred touch he to restart" or something like that. Pisses me off to no avail!
I used to have that same problem, mostly just over 3g though. I know some people can't get it to play over wifi or 4g. Yoboii23's post about retrieving msl to speed up internet fixed the problem I had.

I think its horrible, I use the internet version mainly

Used to not have a problem with it and would run smoothly with my airwave..last few days its been lagging during playback and buffering..I have to update my prl for it to run smooth again..I feel like I'm updating my prl everyday..I'm trying to get another phone bit I've exchanged my 3d twice already and don't know if they will do it again..I swear my store.got a bad bunch..I love the phone besides some of the network issues I've been having
My problems for the app would be that it only works sometimes & only on 4G & not on 3G or WiFi . Which is weird because it used to work before like a week ago .

Hey I am using my WiFi and get around 20 mbps down and 10 up. Why when watching HD videos on YouTube it has to stop and start buffering around ever 45 seconds? I watched a 4 minute video and it had to stop ad start around 5 times. Quiet annoying I'd say. 20 down and 10 up isn't good enough to watch a 4 minute long HD video on a cell phone? Anyone else experienced this?

I have.
I have a 50 down and 20 up connection. Even when I play YouTube 1080p videos on my desktop it buffers a lot. I think its just Google's servers.
Have you tried a pc YouTube seems to buffer a lot in general, lol.
I'll try on my phone.

I've been having this problem as well. Brought the same video up on my laptop and it runs great, no buffering. It's super annoying on the phone.
Didn't know there was a thread on this lol I just made on I searched with no findings I can also confirm this

I can confirm, its a bit harsh!
I'm experiencing the same thing. My son's SG 2 ET doesn't have this problem. We both play the same HD video at the same time.

I had buffering issues when playing Youtube through the browser.... are you guys using the browser or the YouTube app? Try the app instead if you are using the browser HQ video and post back if it helps, thanks.
HD works fine by default. Try checking for updates such as PRL etc. Obviously make sure your on wifi... I know you said you are but for those with this problem and haven't posted yet, it's the simplest things that we forget!

Easy you install the YouTube HD apk on your E4GT gsii and you'll have HD/HQ. Also the sgsiii is 720, wrong model. Even though the gsii is not 720 the HD difference is noticeable. Back on topic I think that's just YouTube, it does it on every phone I've used HD on.

I've noticed the same thing,I primarily use the YouTube app but with exception to those videos that have to play from browser I get the same issue with buffering, no matter if its 3G or wifi. definitely a big difference when compared to Netflix app streaming ability.I can pause rewind fast forward play pretty seamlessly.

The official youtube app has to stop and buffer every 20-30 sec for me even on wifi.If I watch the same video on full screen through youtube.com on the stock browser there isn't any buffering at all.Maybe their next update will fix it.

As a big YouTube watcher I am so tired of this crap. I mean jeez I'm on pretty fast LTE and all I get is constant buffering. I can't watch an HD view for more then 30 seconds without it buffering for 5-10 seconds. And if I turn the HD off the picture looks so horrible I can barely make out what I'm watching. Anything that can be done to improve this?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I was beginning to thunk that it was my internet. Even when I use TubeMate to download the videos before I watch them (which I usually do), I've noticed that the downloads run a LOT slower. I'm talking from 5MBps to 200KBps.

Yea I think the YouTube app is having problems. Or YouTube itself is having issues.
I was on a fast wifi connection and could not even get normal non hd videos to play without ridiculous amounts of waiting and buffering. Forget hd, those just kept buffering and buffering on WiFi.
Probably youtubes servers

Yeah the app is crap. I have the same issues on my nexus 7. What i do now is put the browser as default for playing videos. So now when i click on a link it opens up youtube from the browser and works flawless.

As of today Youtube isn't running so hott on my desktop either just keeps skipping using chrome. I don't know if it has to do with my uverse or youtube servers. The funny thing is I just used the app on my phone and it played fine finally lol.
I think youtube was having problems a few days ago, I know I read something about server issues around that time.

I didn't literally means a desktop computer. I only meant a PC. However, I tried for myself, and my laptop buffered during an 8 second clip. That's YouTube servers, not our devices or our Internet providers.

Youtube (Google) buffers the streaming a lot in the past few years and getting worse. They are known to be prioritizing traffic lately which will result in buffering on YouTube Android, Windows, Linux, Ipod, Ipad etc etc etc.. Nothing to do with your connection, at least what you are referring to and nothing Sprint can do to help unfortunately.
On the YouTube video u have 1 bar of wifi and on the speedtest ur on 4g (lucky btw). Armrest ur YouTube works mines been busted it just stops buffering completely at 50 secs but during those 50 sec it doesn't buffer.
Edit just tried YouTube and it seems like the problem fixed its self it doesn't stop at 50 and I don't get any buffering at all
