My gtablet will not connect to my pc after installing CM7 any idea what the problem is? The device manager for Windows 7 has 3 devices under "disk drives" as NVIDIA Tegra 2 USB Device" and under Portable Devices it lists E, F and G as options, none of which can be accessed. I have USB Debugging on and no luck so far. thanks for any help provided!
Are you using stock kernel?

Hi guys..
Sorry if i'm opening an answered question.. I've tried searching with no luck.
I can't get USB tethering to work on my x10 mini Pro. As stated, the rom is CM7-2.2.1. My PC is running Windows 7x64.
Wifi tethering works just fine, but I would prefer USB to save battery power.
I tried following this guide: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Tethering
It tells me to install google drivers for an "android device" in device management. I don't have any android devices or anything similar
Windows did however install new drivers automatically for a "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device", which is listed under "Network adaptors", when I enabled tetheringh. The USB drivers for the phone were already installed at that point.
I've tried updating those drivers, both with the downloaded USB package from the guide and through Windows Update.
The said adapter is listed and enabled as "Local Area Connection 3" in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections.
I'm not getting any internet on my pc though. Am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks in advance..
This is probably a common problem, I saw lots of threads but I can't find any solutions to it, and I really want to make my phone faster i.e. root
Phone: LG P990 (Optimus 2x)
Problem:
Phone not detected by the computer when connected through USB.
What I tried:
1. Factory reset (only data)
2. Cleaning the port with a toothbrush
3. Uninstalling and re-installing drivers
4. Replacing the cable I was using with the OEM one (I lost my original together with my charger)
5. Plugging into different computers and USB ports
6. Checking and unchecking the option of connecting through mass storage only
7. Enabling and disabling USB debugging
What's so incredible about my problem is that the phone actually knows that it is connected to the computer - the USB tethering option is available and it says that USB's connected - but the USB connection icon on the status bar for mass storage doesn't show up. I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware problem. So any ideas how to fix this?
Bump.
Android version: 2.3.4
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Firmware version: LGP990-V20d
Please help!
Just some updates.

My computer showed the unknown device message when I chose CP UART. I'm working on the rest of the fix now, and hopefully the problem can be solved.

any options from notification area when connected via cabel to your computer?
try searching the play store for "mass storage" and see if one of the apps will work for you
You could use a sd adaptor so you wouldnt need to connect you phone

My phone is Redmond 2 prime it is not connected to my Acer laptop having windows 7 through USB it is showing that device driver is not successfully installed properly pls help me with this
I am having a problem plugging my Note2 into multiple PCs - USB2 and USB3 ports both tried, multiple pcs and laptops tried.
All running Windows 7 (Pro or Enterprise). The N2 is bone stock, no root yet.
It makes the sound like it sees the USB, but fails installing all of the drivers, and never brings up the window to explore the SD contents.
I have tried multiple drivers - the S3 driver that some said would be no issue does not work. Different carrier versions do not work.
Last I checked, there was no verizon version driver available.
Here is my process.
I plug it in.
It says Connected as Installer
I pull the window down, choose MTP.
It tries to install different drivers
Never completes in Windows, says failed.
I have tried with debugging checked and without.
I have tried aftermarket cables (namebrand and off-brand) as well as OEM cables from the S2, S3 and Note2.
I've removed hidden USB devices and plugged it into multiple different USB ports to try and get it to work.
Any ideas guys? Are you guys plugging your Note 2's in and are able to browse the internal storage no prob through windows ? If so, how?
nothing?
Simmilar USB connecting issues
My Note 2 does connect as a MTP media device with "directories" Card & Phone, via win7
But I want to connect the sd card as a standard usb mappable drive just like every other phone I ever had.
It seem Android used to allow this but now may not. Or I haven't found the magic setting.
I had a similar issue after I flashed the rooted image, I had to disable USB debugging in developer options, restart the phone and laptop to get it to connect as MTP
Trying to save on battery and not use the hotspot I thought I'd try USB tethering. I am able to USB tether and connect to the internet via USB tethering. However, there are two devices in Device Manager with yellow exclamation triangles: CDC Serial and LGE Android Phone. I've searched and searched but am unable to find the drivers for these devices.
CDC Serial
Hardware Ids
USB\VID_1004&PID_62C4&REV_0310&MI_02
USB\VID_1004&PID_62C4&MI_02
Install Error
E0000203
LGE Android Phone
Hardware Ids
USB\VID_1004&PID_62C4&REV_0310&MI_04
USB\VID_1004&PID_62C4&MI_04
Does anyone know where I can download the drivers for these? I've tried the LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.0.4 with no luck.
Thanks!
I finally found the drivers on the CD partition that came up when I plugged my phone into the computer. I quickly copied the files to the hard drive from the CD partition to the hard drive. Then I installed the drivers through Device Manager. I don't know if it really matters or not but I can't stand having any yellow triangles in Device Manager.
Hello everybody,
I have a galaxy S2 and I'm running RESURRECTION REMIX M [5.7.4]. I have a problem connecting it to my computer.
I've already used multiple computers (windows 10) and multiple usb cables.
What I've done on the phone is the following:
1. Went to developer options
2. I enabled "android debugging"
3. Select USB configuration -> MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)
4. Then I connect the phone to the computer, there is NO notification/popup on the telephone and I cannot find the device in the windows 'device manager'
Am I missing a step, did somebody experience the same?
Edit: sorry I tried yet another cable and it worked :/
