When I'm in CWM why am I getting that message? I tried fixing permissions but I still get it. Also getting E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]

The threads I looked at were out dated, or dealt with other mfgs. If it's out there, please post the link so I can follow it.
Used ODIN to flash ED01DB_DOx_SHARK.tar and clockwork file this morning from-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048380
In cwm [3.0.0.8], this is what I did and the errors I received:
Attempting nand backup
E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard]
Can't mount /sdcard
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
So then I tried this:
Command = mount /sdcard
E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard]
Error mounting /sdcard
Any thoughts or work around? Some threads say partition, some format. But I cannot seem to find anything that is Fascinate specific. Thanks!
No ideas at all? Only found 2 or 3 threads across the net and none deal with this version of cwm

Doing a nandroid backup with that recovery is a known issue. You can check toward the end the thread for possible solutions, I believe you have to go into mounts and storage from the first screen of that CWM and mount system and data before being able to do a recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046905
Or you can flash the CWM from nemesis2all which I believe is capable of doing a nandroid backup:

Thanks - will look it all over once I get home!

Will pushing that through ODIN with fix the sd mounting, then? End result is to load a full custom rom. Looking at comrom 2, but those instructions say to load via cwm, but do you know if it is possible to load it through ODIN like I did for for the ED01DB_DOx_SHARK.tar
UPDATE: Those packages install VooDoo lagfix also -- Saw the folder on my sdcard, downloaded the VooDoo app in marketplace and:
Deselected the button - not lit
Rebooted in Recovery
-here it loaded the VooDoo recovery-
Was able to wipe all caches
Then did a backup through Voodoo
I can't post in the dev forum yet, so here it goes. Is it possible to load ComRom2 via VooDoo [ran a search in that thread with no specific results]? Will there be issues later due to both cwr 3.0.0.8 and VooDoo 2.5.1.x
EDIT 2: Took the plunge and ran them through the voodoo recovery and it all worked. Thanks for the tips above!
This, and my phone cant mount anything in CWM Recovery 3.0.0.8.
Unable to wipe anything because it cant find/mount anything.
I'm voodoo converted though i think i may have misflashed something that may be messing with everything. I am Not having any memory problems associated with a voodoo/nonvoodoo misflash.
On 2.2.1
EC01
Also of note, when rebooting from recovery, phone boots into safe mode.
I'm also having this problem. Here's a full dump of what it says when I was finally able to start up in clockwork mod:
Code:
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.8
E:failed to open /etc/recovery.fstab (No such file or directory)
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
Yeah, it was the same deal here. I have since gone to base ed04 since I didn't get any support here. Just waiting for the kinks in gb to be worked out so I can go to it.

sounds like you need to odin back to stock and start over...find my guide in the general section if you instructions and files to do so.

A little info would be helpful. You didn't mention what rom you're on, what you were trying to do, what steps you took, etc. Hard to help without any information.
After a few wrong operations inside clockworkMod recovery 3.0.0.5 of my galaxy tab P1000, now after bootin into clockwork I read:
E:unknown volume for path [/system]
E:unable process volume! Skipping...
E:unknown volume for path [/data]
E:unknown volume for path [/cache]
.........
obviously it's impossible to mount system or read an external sdcard (I tried 3 different sdcard.
I was thinking to try odin in order to reinstall kernel or...from clockwork is it possible to follow another way.
I hope you can help me solve the problem.
Thanks
Okay so last night I attempted to root my nook tablet 1.4.3 using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037368. I downloaded all the files that were pointed to in that thread, and followed the instructions. Everything went perfect and soon I was setting up my google account, then following the final steps which involved downloading rom manager, and goo manager. All was well, until I decided to reboot the tablet.
After I rebooted the initial loading seemed fine (got the "n" screen"), then cyanobootloader popped up, then the Team B presents XDA logo popped up and then nothing. The tablet stayed frozen on the Team B logo, and rebooting did nothing.
So being the idiot that I am, I tried going into recovery from the cyanobootloder. This took me to TWRP where my dumbass ended up going to advanced and Wiping the system. After that I tried installing Cm-7-Team-B-Beata1-signed.zip and gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip from TWRP. The log gives several messages that read:
E: Unable to mount /system
E: Unable to mount /data
E: Unable to mount /cache
E: Unable to mount /emmc
E: Unable to mount /emmc
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
At this point I was freaking out, stopped using my head, and began trying desperately to go back to stock. I tried using this method http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/how-to-un-brick-a-nook-tablet-8gb-or-16gb/, but it didn't change anything.
I decided then to try redoing the rooting guide again to see if that could solve the problem. It did not.
So now the tablet boots into TWRP when I turn it on. I can also enter CWM-based Recovery using the SD card I made from the guide. However, when I enter CWM-based-recovery I get these messages at the bottom:
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't Open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't Open /cache/recovery/last_log
That's pretty much where I'm stuck on at the moment. I figured I should probably stop messing with this tablet before I made a bigger mess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'd suggest that you try flashing afresh a CM10 or CM10.1 build using SDcard based CWM recovery, using a method such as described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056626.
In case you're considering using one of the so-called "unbricking" tools, read this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37515697&postcount=31 first before you pick the wrong tool that would permanently wipe out your NT's individual device specific data like WiFi MAC address, security certificate, serial number, etc.
Nook needs a /recovery folder in /cache partition like /cache/recovery.
Somehow that folder is missing
Is so easy to fix that you will laugh
dd zero the cache partition after you make sure cwm/twrp is not have it mounted check by reading mount /cache if it says unmount cache select it first.
Then format cache in cwm/twrp and that's it. Folder will be created by it self and that error print out will stop.
Here it is
