Try un-mounting and re-mounting your SD card (Settings > SD & Phone Storage > Unmount SD Card/Mount SD Card) and rebooting.
I had a problem where the phone wouldn't recognize that I had the SD card in right after going S-Off (Couldn't mount as disk drive). I'm guessing your problem may be similar.

You didn't get lucky that you didn't have to call Sprint, you were just smart enough to let your phone reactivate to the network. I think when people saw the hands free activation thing running they freaked out and hit cancel and then couldn't make calls or texts.

Not quite but nice try on the not smart enough part lol. I let mine activate after getting s-off and data was working fine but I still couldnt make any calls until the Sprint Rep did something on their side.

[Q] Unrooted my phone and now I want to root again...[story inside]

I unrooted my phone and now I want to root it again. Here is the story..
I went overseas for the month of August and got a Verizon global loaner phone. I came home and Verizon told me I needed to get a new SD card and go to a store to reactivate. The global loaner program never told me about this.
So naturally, I unrooted my phone so they wouldn't give me a problem. The guy who installed the SD card and activated my phone checked to see if it was rooted. He looked through my apps and questioned me on my phone usage.
Since I got the new SD card the phone will not update or acquire a 4G signal. Rather than get a manufacturers refurbished phone, I would like to root again. However I have two questions:
What guide should I use? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616 says it is outdated as of August 14, 2011?
Where do I get the latest standard build? I want to install that before I move on to ROMs
ok hold on just a second! A new SD card?!? Are you sure it wasn't a new SIM card? An SD card has absolutely nothing to do with signal. I don't particularly understand why everyone is so scared of Verizon finding out you are rooted. I was just in a Verizon store today and showed the idiot working there all the things I could do with my rooted bolt that they couldnt do with a stock one. It's your phone. Do with it what you will. Now back on topic. For your root method my understanding is Revoked is your best bet. I would make a bet that either the person that put your new SIM card in either. a. didnt put it in correctly or b. forgot to have them activate 4G on it. I would call and talk to customer service a bit.
haha yes....SIM card!
I did talk to customer service. They are going to send me a new SIM card and if that doesn't work they are going to offer me a refurbished phone....

Please Help - Rezound won't activate

I purchased a used Rezound off of E-Bay - probably my first mistake. I want to use it to replace my Galaxy Nexus. I got a new sim card from Verizon and have been trying to activate the phone. I called Verizon and everything is correct in the system (the sim card and phone are married in the system). Once I power up the phone to activate, it sits at the activation screen.
Any ideas on what to try? Verizon seems to think I bought a dead phone... I thought I was getting a pretty good deal - good seller ratings on other phones... etc.
Thanks for any help.

First, look and make sure the SIM card you bought isn't a Verizon/Vodaphone SIM but that it is a 4G LTE card, it will say it right on the card, if it is, go to myverizon.com, sign in, and reactivate your old phone, sign out, sign back in and reactivate the Rezound, make sure you enter the MEID correctly, and the 4G LTE card serial number correctly. Reinsert the card in your phone, put the battery back in, and, Please make sure you put the back cover back on the phone, it's required for reception on our phones, and let it boot up, it should activate automatically.

i don't know but since it is such a new phone it should be under warranty, take it to a verizon store and see if they can order you a new one?
Bad esn which means the phone is black listed they won't activate it unless the existing bill is paid.

Whoever owned it before you never paid their phone bill. Unless it's a bad SIM which I have gotten one bad SIM for my LTE broadband card.

If you reactivate an old device, it should kick that pending out. Try it if you haven't already.

I got the sim card for the Rezound at a Verizon Corp store. I was told by Verizon tech support that the verizon server is waiting for a response from my phone. I think he said a haul response or something like that. The tech said he could see the first responses from the phone but it wasn't going any further in the activation process.
How would I know if the ESN is black listed?
How would I reactivate the old phone? Would I need to go and get a different sim card? I had to get a different sim card because the Galaxy Nexus sim card is a different size than the Rezound sim card.
Thanks for all the help.
I had the same problem stuck at activation screen for about 45 mintues, did a battery pull and restarted and all was good to go......

When your logged in to your account, on your home page which is the page it displays when you sign in, scroll down, under device it will have an option to change device. If it's the right SIM card, you won't have any problem with trying to reactivate it, after you deactivate it by switching back and forth, I've done it a dozen times. Doesn't sound like a bad phone, I mean stolen or a bad esn, or the tech would have told you, it just sounds like a hiccup during activation. **** when you reactivate the Nexus, use the card that came with it, not the new one! Then reactivate your Rez with the new card

Be aware that you have to have 4G service to activate the 4G devices. When I got mine new it was when the nationwide 4G outage was going on and it wouldn't activate until it was back up. Make sure it's not set to CDMA only and that mobile network is turned on.

Not trying to argue with you at all man, but it will still activate in a 3G coverage area, and you're right to make sure the mobile network is turned on. I am a recently former VZW sales rep and Tech specialist, I market transferred and after waiting six months for my transfer to be approved, getting replies that they are working on it, I jumped ship. The outage may have been what messed with your case, but 4G devices can be 100% be activated in a 3G area.

Maybe make that call back to Tech support so they can remove the pending status, ask them to reactivate the Nexus and then try activating the Rezound again. But let them enter everything, and stay on the phone with them til it's up and running

glad im not the only one.. i posted about this few weeks ago.. i tried going to att store and they wouldnt give me a new phone since it was the 16th day ( 14 day return policy).I thought it was still 30. I went thru warranty and they are sending me a new phone. just waiting for that to arrive.. still happens every once in awhile. annoying.
Happens to me too. Don't have to reboot though. Turning Airplane mode on and off does the trick. Every day or so I take it out and put it back in. Not sure if it helps but it makes me feel like it prolongs the issue.

Here's a summary of what I've learned, y'all correct me if I'm mistaken:
ATT sims only
Airplane mode and back - works as temporary fix
SOME report reseating the sim is a permenant fix
SOME report getting a new sim doesn't fix
Since this is happening to me daily now (maybe more I'm not noticing), I'm going to see what I can come up with. I just opened the tray and slid it back in with two pieces of paper backing the sim card (on the non-contact side of course), to see if by chance there is a problem with the physical connection of the sim, and if this can fix it. I'll keep you updated. I'm also going to see if I can get a new sim card from ATT.
Has anyone come up with any other solutions - or are we all dealing with this intermittently and just tolerating it?
===== UPDATE 12/14/2012 =====
5 Days now with perfect connection. Two sheets of paper thicker sim card works.
There is a few threads all about the same thing. I'm posting in this one because it's the highest on the list. I never had the issue before rooting. So I wonder of anyone can confirm this being an issue pre-root/pre-bootloader unlock? Just a thought

Same issue over here. Daily missing SIM card issue.
I have been having this daily with my AT&T One X+ as well. I'm stock, unrooted. I went back to aT&T today and they told me it was the SIM Card. We replaced that and it seems to be working. Now I know it hasn't been long enough to know if this is the fix or not, so we shall see.
For those who added the paper to the SIM tray, did your SIM card feel at all loose before you added the paper ? Mine doesn't feel loose at all.

No SIM CARD error Galaxy Note

Ok guys i know there are a few threads already created for this error, however; I haven't seen a solution yet, So i'm creating this thread in hopes that we can compile all the information about this, and maybe find a solution,
Here's the story, I bought an Unlocked Galaxy note SGH-i717D on ebay about a year ago, the phone was working like a charm and it loved it , then a few months later i started getting a "NO SIM Inserted" error message.
The SIM card was pretty old so I went to my carrier and changed it. That seemed to do the trick and it worked fine until a few weeks ago, when the damn error showed up again. I'm literally getting this error message every day, making the phone impossible to use.
I've tried EVERYTHING:
1- I ruled out the SIM card being faulty since it's new and it works on other phones
2- Made sure the SIM was making contact with the pins
3- Put Scotch tape on the SIM to make it fit better on the SIM slot
3- Deleted cache
4- Rooted my phone and installed titanium backup to delete all user and system app cache
5- flashed the original rom back into my phone
Nothing seems to work (the titanium backup method works for a few hours/days) so please if any of you know the solution to this issue please let me know.
I highly appreciate any help!
Sim card slots go bad some times. A samsung repair shop can replace it in minutes.

yup i've read a lot about it, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the hardware, cuz it works fine when I delete the cache, i've read it has to do with the 3g/4g band the phone is working with, that may cause the issue, but then again nobody's been able to confirm this.
Having the same problem.
No SIM
Baseband: Unknown
IMEI: Unknown
Can't restore with KIES.
Mine was under warranty so I just returned it for an exchange. Got a new SIM, no changes. A factory reset fixed it for a short period.

So I rooted my phone and installed titanium backup like i mentioned on my first post, there's an option on Titanium backup called CLEAR cache for all user and system apps, that seems to do the trick at least for a few hours and some time days.
Sounds like what you guys may need is the sim card port replacement. whatever you do do not send your phone to samsung if you arent under warranty, you will be broke when your done with them. the part is 7$ including shipping on ebay, you can type in sim card port to find it. it is very easy to install, if you dont feel comfortable you can bring it to a shop.

You can easily find the parts for the tmobile version too. Ebay is where I start looking for parts.
Hi i am having the same issue on my Galaxy Note i717R (Canadian Version - originally from Rogers Network) , would appreciate if you could share a solution with me too .
This happened on my i717 just after warranty ran out (of course). It first started off with losing the use of 4g so I couldnt make calls and only could use lte data. Then the radio would stop working and nothing worked. I then restarted my phone and no sim card inserted error. Eventually it would work again but last night I was using the phone and data with no problem but nothing can fix the error today. I'm stuck using the desire HD unless I can figure this out.

I've had this same problem. Reset system and use caches with Titanium Backup but this didn't last. Reset to the original ROMs (Samsung update to Android 4.1 ) did not help. Finally I bought and replace the sim and microsdcard reader (which was remarkably easy to do), This didnt help either. Anyone have a solution?

WTF? it seems like its a software issue then, this is so weird! I read somewhere that it may be the band the phone works with, I'm in Costa Rica so the 3g, 4g bands that we use here may be a bit different and could be causing the problem, then again i know NOTHING about cell phone band frequencies....
This is what's been working for me, I delete cache using titanium back up and then leave the phone off through the night, this method seems to work for a a few weeks maybe a month and when i get the error message again i repeat the process. Also make sure the pins on the sim tray are touching the sim card I noticed on my phone they were a little low so i took a needle and lift them up a bit.
Anyways I really got sick of the error, so I'm changing the sim card tray, if that doesn't work I'm getting rid of this phone.
replaced sim tray and problem is still there...wtf

I was having the same problem. The error would hapoen 10+ times a day sometimes.
I replaced the sim card reader, stil happened. Flashed new rom and modem, didn't fix thr problem.
Started rooting around, thought that maybe the piece of case that sits under the leading edge of the sim card lifts it up, occasionally breaking sim contact when it flexed.
Took a screwdriver and bent the three contacts out some more, now it only happens occasionally.
I think I may be onto something here.

any one got a idea?
Ps.: My phone is not rootet and i have the newest software from HTC (original 4.1.1 and sense 4+)

Have you tried popping open the tray and wiggling the card and then simply sliding it back in? Whenever my phone doesn't detect a sim card I just restart it. When it still doesn't work I pop it out and in again. It's annoying, but it doesn't happen often enough to really bother me. If it is of concern, see if your local store can help you out.

But i hope i can use my phone faster than the next htc patch.... anyone got an idea?
I thought I read somewhere that the store you got the phone from might be of some help in this regard if it is an issue with the tray. Of course, if you've been hearing that it is predominantly a software issue, then I have no advice to offer. Sorry.

i already try 3-4 different cards. My card works on other phones so it must be somethign with the phone.
Mine did that a couple months after I bought it ... took it back to the store and they sent it away for some kind of software update. It still did it a few times after that, although it's probably been a couple of months now with no occurrences at all. Some people say to put some tape on the back of the card to make it fit tighter. So I don't know if it's software or hardware. Although when it happened, if I put the phone in airplane mode and back out again, it worked fine, so that leads me to believe it really is software.
