I patched the classes.dex and no more passcode after the lockscreen.
Since Mail.apk is a system app you can't just replace the apk... so you'll need to do it in recovery.
Instructions:
1. First you need to remove all exchange accounts (in SETTINGS -> ACCOUNTS & SYNC) and then remove the PIN in SETTINGS - SECURITY.
2. Then boot into recovery and install the Mail.apk - patched.zip file (attached).
3. Reboot and add your exchange account normally... it will still ask you to activate the security settings but no password will be required.
Enjoy not having to type a password to unlock your EVO 3D!!!

Really sorry guys, I had the old classes.dex file for some reason. This is fixed now! I reuploaded the file in the OP.
You'll still need to remove the exchange account and remove the lock before you install the zip from recovery.

Confirmed working now, 100% Thank you so very much, I can't tell how much the password thing pissed me off!
I just followed the instructions, downloaded the file to my phone, moved it to my root of my sd card, renamed it from -1.zip to exchange.zip flashed it, rebooted and tried to add it, and no go still have to add a pin. I looked in the zip file and I don't see a classes.dex file at all. Not sure what is up, but I am on stock ROM, have S-OFF, and Recovery, no issues flashing it through recovery but still required to put in a PIN. I'd LOVE to have this working. I will be going to a new ROM soon, I just haven't decided which one I want.
All I can say is keep trying, I have it working for.me right now, but I flash alot of roms, so I feel sometimes it works and other times it doesnt....try not clearing cache or dalvik, installing then rebooting. It will still tell you it needs a pass but when you press activate it will bring you right back to finish your email set up....
SHOTS FIRED!!! From 3 Dimensions!
I suspect it is because I am still on stock ROM, and it is Odexed. Don't know a lot about it, but that is my suspicion. I'll probably flash a ROM this weekend and then try it again.
do you know if this will help to fix the stock mail.apk if it is having issues?
i have tried flashing different roms and still get a exchange activesync mail application which doesn't want to sync correctly.
bump........
mail.apx compatibility
Will this patch also work on v2.3.4?

Hi & Thanks for the look. My phone is in my signature. Basically a virgin Galaxy Nexus unlocked and rooted.
Any .zip I try to install, even as you suggested above gives me the error. Sigh! I want that inverted stuff.
I love you guys and a newb of sorts I am frustrated in all the wonderful stuff that gets posted without install details.
I cannot help but think if I am trying to install a inverted MMS, Gmail, or People .zip should I not disable or rename the current apps that I am replacing?
I experimented flashing the su.zip and it went ok. So it is not my phone.......I think?
Thanks.

If your talking about the mms.apk,
I use root explorer to navigate to the system/app folder and find the OE mms.apk and rename it to mms.apk.bak to disable it. The icon will disappear from the home screen start bar and app drawer.
I then place the new mms.apk in system/app folder and make sure its permissions are all checked off.
Then go to my app drawer and see if its there and will run. If it does I drage the icon back onto my home bar.
Some devices are finicky. Some require a reboot after a renaming then move it in there. Some require a reboot after every move. Its according to the apk and the device.

Yeh. Just don't have two enabled ones in there.
Having major issue here. I tried to install the .zip when it was posted through cwm and it kept fibbing me an error. So then I downloaded the .APK file and tried to install it, another error. Then I moved it to system/app and when I rebooted I hand no messaging at all. I restored my stock messaging from my titanium backup file, but I can't figure out what's wrong. I really want this messaging system, I love the look. Can anyone give me some ideas?

**I am not responsible for any damage you do to your phone. This as any other mod is done at your own risk. This is just a guidline on how to get a real fix for blocking mode on your VZW Jelly Bean device.**
This blocking mode fix has been confirmed on both the VZW Note 2 and the VZW Galaxy S3
*You need to be rooted.*
IF YOUR ON A NON-VZW BASED ROM:
JUST FOLLOW PART 3!! (and part 4 if you like!)
IF YOUR ON A VZW BASED ROM:
Part 1
There are two apks that are the reason for blocking mode not working. The two files are the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk. You will need download these two apks from a other carriers rom and replace them in the system/app folder in root explorer (or your choice system file explorer) and change the permissions.. (For example download a flashable "att" note 2 rom and copy the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk and paste them into your system/app folder. Restart then change the permissions then restart again. Same thing with the Galaxy s3 only you have to download files from another carrier galaxy s3 Rom. From this point on blocking mode will work 100 percent.
Part 2
Now that you have blocking mode working, how can you access it. You can get a shortcut maker app and have a blocking mode home screen icon... OR..You can have it in the settings menu like it's supposed to be! Now just like before there is an apk that VZW had changed to block this. It is the secSettings.apk. So from the same rom you downloaded from before copy the sec.Settings.apk from the other carrier Rom and paste it in your system/app folder in root explorer. At this point you may or may not get a chance to restart your phone (it might freeze for a sec and restart by itself. Once phone restarts change the permissions and restart again. **NOTE: Some roms settings mave have more or less options then the stock. To access these just also copy and paste the secSettingsProvider.apk and everything will work perfectly** **NOTE: menu appearance will not change yet!**
Part 3
Last step. Now that you have the new menu there are still two more files that are causing the menu to change. In root explorer navigate to /efs/imei and delete the map_code.dat and then go to /system/Csc and delete the sales_code.dat. Now restart your phone and you are good to go. **NOTE: after deleting these files any VZW apps on your phone or in market will not be recognized on your phone. For example if you try to download a VZW app from the market it will say your device is not recognized. But they have 'market unlocker' apps that can trick the market to see you as any carrier you want. Also VZW Apps like backup assistant might not work properly.
Part 4
This is not really related to blocking mode but I though I might throw it in here as a bonus. If you copy the feature.xml from another carrier (ex is use the ATT one) and paste it in you /system/csc (I'm my opinion) makes your VZW phone better. The stock email app for example will never try to connect to the VZW server again. It will just go straight to the email app. It also seems to make your phone more responsive and work better with certain samsung apps. (Ex: the samsung apps.apk connects better with samsung push service.* Like I said just a little something extra I noticed.*
ENJOY!
EDIT: If anyone is having trouble with part 2 and the secsettings.apk or any other file, try using files from this rom:
EDIT: You may need to wipe first.

Which rom are you on. Are you sure you used the correct files? The secphone.apk and seccontacts.apk? I would try again and make sure you used the clean rom files. Also check the blocking mode settings allowed contacts list and make sure you have that setup right. If it says none, no calls will go through.
EDIT: Replace the files in the system/app folder with the ones from clean rom and change the permissions and restart. Then clear cache and restart again.

what is the ds store file?
There is a missing step somewhere for the note 2, I stumbled onto it guide a few days ago in the S3 forum and couldn't get it working 100%
I'm on an at&t ROM with the correct files and modded the files needed, can get blocking mode activated but it only worked about 50% of the time....even switched back to beans ROM and followed necessary steps again and that way only worked about 25% of the time.
Not sure what the extra step its gonna be but I have been working on it for a few days...

Yea. I don't know how mine works perfectly all of the time but a lot of people are saying they're having trouble. I'm not sure what the deal is. The two roms I tested it on were both clean rom for a vzw note 2. And i tried on a vzw sgs3 on an executioner rom. All three times it worked flawlessly for me.
the phone and mms files in cleanrom are from the verizon rom so thats why thats not working
Features
Bypasses Exchange Security requirements such as the PIN lock requirement in AOSPish ROMs.
Verified working in
Nexus 5/4.4 stock
Working on latest CM11 nightlies
Requirements
Latest Xposed installed
Android 4.4
Root
Install Instructions
Ensure you have deleted your corporate accounts before continuing. This will not fix an already installed device admin.
Download and Install "Xposed Installer"
Open the Xposed Installer, tap Framework, tap Install/Update - a lot of people are missing this step.
Reboot device
Install ExchangeBypass-x.x.apk
Enable module in Xposed
Reboot again
Add account in mail
May say security is required but should not come up and ask to create device administrator.
Success!

Notes
I have no clue if this will work in your ROM, I wrote it just for me since at the time there was no Xposed mod for Exchange security bypass. If it doesn't work, let me know and I can see if I can update the module for your situation. It might be a simple update. If it works, let me know so I can update the OP with what it is confirmed working with.
May not work with anything below KitKat because of application naming. I don't have access to anything less than 4.4 anymore.
Other ROM requests - It's hard for me to get to these. If you have something you really want, I need to get access to the ROM image so I can pull out the email application and any libraries associated with it. Send me a message here or email me.

I would try removing the account and recreating. Based on how this works it disables the checks when the account is used and added to prevent the device administrator profile. If you disable the device administrator if might delete the account so you could try that first.
Try that and let me know. If that doesn't work see if you can get the application name like com.android.email.
Removing device admin usually removes the exchange account... I'll try your method (and a variation of it) tomorrow, but meanwhile, perhaps the file name is different in my phone - maybe that's why?
See screenshot.

Yep usually it does that's why I suggested deleting and recreating it.
It have a different identifier. Check under apps and look for the app identifier. It might say com.android.email. I key off of that so that could cause it not to work.
OK. For the love of life, I can't seem to find the identifier for the email app. For the exchange add on, its com.Google.android.exchange
Removing email from device admin got rid of the account. Refuses to work otherwise :/
Maybe the target shouldn't be the email app, but the exchange app? Or maybe I'm using bone stock 4.3 and that could be the reason? (I'm not a dev, nor anywhere near it - but I do consider myself a computer freak and a whiz!) I don't want to flash so I'm hoping I could get your mod to work.

I would verify that Xposed is installed and then go into the Xposed Installer and make sure it's installed as well. There are two parts to the Xposed installer.
After you've verified, then make sure the mod is installed and checked, then reboot, then add the account.
Here's what I tried: installed xposed. Reboot. Verified xposed is working (cause the other modules - gravitybox - is working). Enabled your mod. Reboot. Added exchange account. And nope!
Could it be something with deodex/odexed ROMs?

Hey guys, I got the tablet yesterday to get rid of that "too many pattern attempts" screen. The owner of course doesn't remember the credentials to his google account, so he gave it to me to get rid of the lock, without hard-resetting if possible.
I have no idea what the Android version is; I can't get past the log in screen. I can't root it/delete that one small file responsible for all of this since ADB isn't enabled. The Android recovery seems to be the only option, but of course, I can't use unsigned zips like AROMA File Manager... or can I?
I'd like to know if I have any options besides resetting to factory settings from the recovery screen. And what does it delete? Only apps, their data and system settings or pretty much everything?

Try an update as it may removed the lock (although I think it will stay in place) Have a look at my stickied FAQ for how to and look at my signature for update zips.

Knowing how Android works, I would expect the update to either delete all the data or keep everything. I thought more of running something from the recovery, but I see how it may not be possible.

The update will keep all the files. You can ONLY install Sony signed zips anyway so this is the only hope. Or a recovery of the password for Google... Which you stated is a no go...

It is encrypted and signed by Sony. You can decrypt it, modify it and re-sign it but IT WILL NOT WORK. We do not have SONY'S private key for sigining... Otherwise we could ad SU etc, this is not the case.

Weird, the device wasn't visible through adb devices...
Anyway, it doesn't matter much now since I tried updating to an older update (revision 1a? Sth like that) and it didn't fix the problem, so in the end I had to wipe data. I could probably experiment a bit if I didn't have to give back the tablet yesterday.
Just wipe the device via recovery, the key files are in /data/system so unless you have root and ADB then a wipe will have to do.
A wipe via recovery will not wipe the emulated internal or just external storage such as SD and USB.

I've got everything working (I just haven't tried paying yet) and I'm currently running Viper 3.1 RC2. So I'm not sure if it'll work on other roms, and if you update you'll have to flash this zip again of course.
The Zip doesn't seem to work, just unpack it and push the files manually.
Prerequisites:
- Root
- Custom recovery
- Xposed Framework
- Either xPrivacy or Isis root bypass
What's included:
- libnfc.so
- libnfc_jni.so
- libnfc_ndef.so
- org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
- SmartCardServiceGP.apk
- Nfc.apk
- nfcee_access.xml
the nfcee xml has the isis, t-mobile, and google keys included if we ever need that.
The files were pulled from Nocturnal's 3.24.531.3 deodexed stock rom
I haven't tested this zip but I used Rishik999 Guide on how to make a flashable zip, either way make sure to BACKUP!
Not sure if you'll have to fix permissions also, as I did this manually through ADB and thought I'd make a zip to make things easier for everyone
Before running Isis make sure you have root bypassed via the Xposed module Isis Root bypass or xPrivacy
Reboot, and enjoy Isis!

I've been trying to figure this out for a while I've got it to go past the root check via xPrivacy, but when it's looking for the secure element on my sim card it fails
Has anyone else tried it?

Ok i found out the issue. It looks like we can only use tmobile made roms for it to work. I tried all roms but decided to flash a tmobile variant roms and it started to works.

Nice I wonder what it was, I've copied related apks, and libs over and nothing has worked, which rom did it work on?

I actually was curious if it was rom related so I used the ruu to flash back to stock tmobile one. I used the stock one from over seas but that was still a no go.

Hmmm I see, I tried one of the leaked official 4.3 roms on here, but it still didn't work, but then again I did a dirty flash I might try wiping, or doing what it actually says and calling them
i used an oficial one 4.3 what error are you getting? i tried calling them they are having an issue with the new update. I just cant wait till we get 4.4 kit kat so we can finally and hopefully use google wallet because isis sucks. i get error 7006 after trying to register.
I was able to get it to work on the tmobile stock Rom. I had to install the Isis root bypass module in the expose installer so it wouldnt detect my root.
were you ever able to get it working on Viper? been trying but can't get past the sim card pop up even tho i have the new isis sim from t-mobile...

Mind linking to the rom thread? I can't seem to get the stock rom to work after boot, the touchscreen doesn't work at all.

Same here, I've gotten my sim card swapped out a few times, and it doesn't seem to detect it at all, even with a modified nfcee access xml file which has the signatures, I can't tell what to change to get it to work :/

I got the sim card swapped out also a couple of times but only got it to work with the official stock rom until someone figures something out or until we get kit Kat which by then we can use Google wallet again finally. Heres the link to, the ruu I used http://www.htc.com/us/support/news.aspx?p_id=630&p_name=htc-one-t-mobile

So no luck running it even on a stock rooted rom? That's a bummer :/
I can't get the stock rom to run properly on my device so I can't really test it
Alright guys I've got it working, I downloaded a stock 3.24.531.3 rom from Nocturnal's website and copied some things over
Not sure what exactly was what made it work.
I copied over:
libncf.so
libnfc_jni.so
libnfc_ndef.so
org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
SmartCardServiceGP.apk
But it didn't work until pushed nfc.apk
I've just not created an account, I'll test it out later.
I pushed these files using adb, but I don't see why Root Explorer wouldn't work or something similar.

Great to hear... I was up late at night trying to figure someway to get it to work. Where exactly are those files located if you don't mind.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The libs are in system/lib
The jar is in /system/framework
The apks in system/app
There's also the nfcee xml I modified, that's under system/etc I'll do a full writeup and edit my first post once I get home
But the nfcee xml has the keys for isis and t-mobile so you should need that. And yeah I'm running viper still
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Edited the first post as well as uploaded an update zip with the files needed for Isis to work, hope it helps all of you guys!

Not really just make sure SU is denied, but it seems to go past that check anyway so you're fine.
Try pushing the files manually, I suppose. Like I said I hadn't tried the zip I made so I'm not sure if it works, and nobody has said anything about it either lol

Tried the zip also and it didn't work for me. I flashed it then fixed permissions. I am using the root bypass module and not xpiracy. Could that have something to do with it?
