Anyone able to get the Evo 4G keyboard (with directional arrows) working on the 3d?
(I know swiftkey and some other have tiny arrows, but I want the HTC keyboard...)

Ditto, has anyone gotten this to work yet? I can't believe this hasn't been a priority. That an multi deletion in the native e-mail app are the only things I need to be completely satisfied now.
Really hated the arrows I'm happy there gone, but to your question it might look weird since is different resolution, but you can try perfect keyboard , you can swype up on the space key, and get some arrows, I liKe that keyboard, remind me alot of the Droid x keyboard with gingerbread mix. And is free

Japan, thanks, but I have tried that one and several others that have inferior arrows or you have to tale extra steps to get to them like that one.
I think I just got wood with the mention of possibly getting the one from the sensation, please keep me in the loop if anyone gets this done.

I've been waiting so long for this. A port from the EVO 4G or the EVO View. I really miss the arrows and can't stand using any other keyboard other then the HTC one. Let's hope we can get something. Fingers are still crossed

I tried but it Kept Force Closing... I've been looking for a Working version Forever!!
Meanwhile I've been using Go Keyboard...
I've also started using the Hydro Bliss ROM and it has the HTC keyboard with the Arrows but it has a little bit of Sizing Problems to Work out...

I just upgraded to the new Google Maps 5.0. I don't see anything different. I dont see the compass or any of the two finger swiping stuff. I'm on Android 2.1 stock. Are certain features only available on Froyo etc?
I'm using a froyo rom, and the 3d stuff isnt working here
I'm using elelinux 2.2 (froyo) and if u go to Manhattan for example and zoom in you see 3d-models of the buildings (street map).
The 2-finger-rotation is not working for me either

Mine doesn't even seem to do the vector smooth zooming. It's still blocky when you zoom in like in the old one. What's going on?

I've got them too, I just cant angle it using 2 fingers down the screen
It's not region-locked. I'm in the UK and my mate has a Desire HD and can do two-finger rotation easily on Google Maps 5 (Sense/Android 2.2), not sure about 3D Buildings though (maybe only in San Francisco), maybe it's locked to devices that don't have a high enough graphics/processing power?
EDIT: Saying that, it doesn't work for me either. Both on RCMix2.2b (Sense/Android 2.1) and FroydVillain 1.7.2.
Nothing for me either. Wasn't expecting 3D but at least the vectors would be nice. I guess they just put a bar on hardware and said "below this and we just don't give a shoot about any of the features. buy new hardware ffs you'r fone is like a year old c'mon get with the program!"

How do you enable it? from the menu? You have the GSM Hero? What ROM are you running? etc etc

Yeah I have a GSM Hero (I live in the uk lol)
Um.. And are running a lightwieght version of FroydVillain, I've also got the new market if thats makes a difference and simply updated maps earlier today, and when ever I zoom in close on a city.. Tada 3d buildings appear

The compas icon just takes me back to my current location! Do you have any additonal layers applied to the map?
There are indeed 3D building in the latest Google Maps on HTC Hero.

My hero has 3d buildings, in another topic someone suggests installing the latest street view to get it working, not sure what that has to do with anything. But i did it and it seems to have worked. For me unless I've gone over the screen in a certain zoom and do this multiple times the map won't zoom seemlessly. I am in China and I got the google maps 5.0 from xda. Running stock 2.1
3D buildings have been available in Google Maps for ages now. 5.0 adds the ability to tilt and turn them round. The Hero doesn't appear to allow either of these.
I'm using Cronos (Eclair) and 3d buildings are working ..
Slide down the screen with two fingers is working, not rotation.

I have been with Tmobile for 8 years now and of course I have had every Android phone they have come out with except the Cliq(daughters phone not mine) I am close to my contract end date and am trying to figure out which avenue to go.
I have three android phones on my account and I also have an Evo 4G (Work Phone).
I like my 4G because of it's coverage here where I live I can get 4G on Sprint, but My Tmob phones do not even get 3G coverage up here.
So I need some assist. do I get the HTC Sensation and stay with Tmobile or dump Tmobile and Get me a Evo 3D. I can get a Evo 3D for 125.00 I can get a discount If I switch to Sprint due to my company has about 20 phones with Sprint.
Sprint is great! Their signal depends on where you live (check the coverage map before making your mind, it plays a HUGE role in everything. I haven't kept track of T-mobile's lineup, but i must say Sprint's selection of smartphones is only getting better. I'd suggest switching to Sprint because t-mobile is possibly future AT&T and i like sprint.
But remember, make sure Sprint's signal around you is good or else i'd stick with t-mobile.

3D man, the raw specs were enough for me. The Sensation does look a little more aesthetically pleasing to me but the 1 gig of RAM and 3D capabilites (no matter how limited they are at this point), plus build quality and dedicated camera button all push it above the Sensation, imo. The only thing is 1080p recording is available on the Sensation but not the 3VO, but really it isn't a huge difference to me. I don't use video recording much either. The features which matter most are the ones YOU would use the most, so that's kind of put on what you need your phone to do/want your phone to do.
Also, the Sensation is gonna cost you more than the 3D if I'm not mistaken, so that sets it apart too.
Of course I am a bit biased, I love my 3D, but in all reality I still would've taken this over the Sensation if offered either of these gorgeous phones.

Welcome to the Evo 3d..im sure by now u relize u made a great choice cause this phone is a BEAST!! with temp root w/overclocking and s off looking like its happening from alpharex it will only get better!!! Im sure within the 30 day period ur wife/daughter will make returns for the 3D as well!!!

its because the toggle is placed between the "SYM" and "," buttons.
you will eventually train yourself not to hit it. Or you can turn on the "trace" option on HTC keyboard. I like that better.

Are you in the beta? If not I think you can sign up and then use TB to uninstall the current one. Then just instal the new one. Probsbly the first thing I did after root.

It looks like Swype Beta 3.0 which I just installed on my 3D after removing the version that came with the phone. 3.0 seems much more accurate than the previous version.
Other than different theme colors, what's the difference between this and the current 3.6.84.xxxxx beta released?

I wish they'd get rid of the globe (for switching languages). It's a dumb place to have it. Not enough people switch languages often enough for it to be a key on the keyboard. Put it in the menu.

No kidding. It's a really bad location for it. They would be better off just making the sym button bigger, since it gets used pretty often.

Sigh, it works and all, just there's bars on the side due to the screen resolution. You can still swype, it's just a smaller area to use.

Yeah the 3.25 beta has all the features of the NS4G build except for the skin. I'm hoping that someone will port that skin over for all devices.
Just downloaded the 3.25 version and it is nice. pretry fast and more accurate

What in the world makes you assume this is sense 3.5? I can easily re-create that setup using any custom launcher... That huge gap honestly doesn't make sense in the dock, so I'm kind of incredulous at this picture.

This looks just like a modified dock bar
This pulled from the Desire S that was leaked in China i believe. Its for HDPI devices with 4 inch screens. Basically what HTC said they werent gonna do. The first leak on the Desire S was 2.3.5 GB with Sense 3.0. Now theyve got 2.3.4 GB with Sense 3.5. Id go ahead and say yeah its real. And not to mention really ugly.
yea its real personally the dock looks nice but is really useless since thier seems to be a lot of wasted space in between the app launcher and phone icon

HTC Sense 3.5 so ugly
Honestly this looks like more of a theme than anything, but if it is 3.5, I like how they are moving away from gloss, that was one of the things that pissed me off about sense. Not like I'll use 3.5 Anyways, AOSP is the woman for me.
Considering this is coming from the Bliss, a mid-range phone aimed at women. I think its safe to say this won't be topping Sense 3.0 anytime soon. I think this is more a "trimmed" version of sense for lesser devices. I have no worries of this officially making its way to the 3D.
Of course. I wouldn't mind seeing some dev cook up a rom of this when it leaks. Lol

As you may or may not be aware, my rezound's board died on me, like 1 day ago, so since i am unable to dev on the rezound for the time being, untill i get a new one(yes i am going get another one, dunno when but i will) i leave here my unfinished alpha status LG Nitro port. And yes not much works other than it boots, egl and sound. Maybe someone else can take over for me on this, wile i get a new rezound, good luck

Strange, this looks very similar to TouchWiz... My girlfriend has an LG myTouch Q, and I swear they ripped off all sorts of elements from older versions of Sense on that phone (like Sense status bar, icons, menu styles, etc, just minus the Sense widgets and homescreen). Does LG license parts of TouchWiz or Sense to use on their own phones?
