I started having the same problem a couple of days ago too. I think it is one of the apps that I recently installed from the market (flight view). I did a hard reset (uninstalled the battery while phone is on) and everything was fine for a day or two. Then it started happening again, so I suspected it was that particular app since it was there in "Running Services" despite not starting it. So I just uninstalled it and will see how things go.

Did you use Wifi or 3G?

Go into settings and make sure all Auto-Sync options for updates and social web sites are not ticked, if they are ticked these run constantly to check status check them manually when you want to, also turn WiFi on and off manually don't leave it on all the time.
Had the same issure. Apparently the problem was 3G/EDGE data transfers. By disabling all data transfer battery life was improved a lot, but then i needed internet frequently so having to turn on and off data transfer wasn't the best idea. Flashed the phone with generic firmware, and so far battery life is decent.
i'm having crappy battery on the latest update 2.0.2.A.0.24
i'm using the rooted version and JIT v2 enabled.
lost 15% in 6 hours last night with the phone not being used at all.
cell standby is killing my battery (57%), but i have good signal strength.
phone idle is at 17%, display 15%, system 5% and acore 3%.
something is going on with the cell standby.
i can't figure out if it's because i'm using google voice or something else.
something else is that my phone is now listing it's model as x10i, when it's an x10a. i know this is because of the generic update firmware. but i wonder if that has something to do with the standby battery drain.

FYI - total battery use must always add up to be 100% - It may appear that the cell standby is using up the most resources.. that may not always be the case. Check your time without signal..
Hmm it seems happen to me too since I tried Jit v2. Will try to revert back to v1. Will report back when I tried it.

Alright, so to update you guys, it has been 2 days since I removed the "culprit" app called flight view and my battery life is back to normal. So, if you all of a sudden see that your battery life is reduced, then go back and check the latest apps you installed. It is probably one of them that is causing the problem. Hope this helps.
I agree with certain apps constantly running in the background draining the battery. One way I found to determine what's doing what, is by using Advanced Task Killer, and periodically checking to see what apps are running(without being opened by myself), then killing all apps, then check back in a minute for the culprits. If it started up again on it's own and uses a lot of resources but I don't use it every day, I disable or uninstall it. When I need it again, I enable or reinstall it.
Also, set advanced task killer to kill all apps on screen off. That will help your standby time. Set apps you need running in background, like messaging, to ignore.
Also, turn down the brightness of you screen, and shorten the screen timeout length. They all can add a few seconds and a few clicks to certain tasks, but I still have 30% battery the mornings after I forget to hook up my charger the night before.

The problem is I don't install new apps after applying Jit v2. And my battery works fine with Jit v1. Well today I tried to remark #dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit. Let's see how the battery performance today. ^_^
Btw the linpack score is still the same around 32.

Hey can u please explain about that 'line remark' code thingy?
I love xda app on my Xperia X10i phone =D
I've deleted some recent apps and my battery return to normal.
It might be because of apps running in the background. Things like moixer mail and track id is notorious for battery drain issues. Better get them removed via titanium backup

If you updated your X10a into X10i, and you are now experiencing battery or connection problems it could be due to the missing cell broadcast widget called Cell Information only found in the X10a firmware and possible other unknown differences.

I have this S2 for about a month now and up 'til about 2 days ago I was getting quite frustrated with the battery life. From 8am to about noon I'd be down to sometimes 50% and by 3pm I'd be getting ready to put it on the charger at about 20-30%.
So a couple days ago I decided to uninstall Advanced Task Killer Pro (with advice from some members on XDA) and installed Watchdog and blacklisted at 1% threshold a whole bunch of stuff. ie. Wifi Sharing, Social Hubs, etc.
Now it's almost 4pm, same usage as before and I'm at 73%! Compared to before it's a major breakthrough. This is battery life that is expected. So maybe some of you guys should try the same and see how it works for you. Cheers.
what are all the apps you blacklisted?

You just need to know what processes are running on background, for that install Better Battery Stats, search in XDA, and see under 'Partial Wakelocks'.
And stop using ATK, its advised, don't know why!

Here's the best part... NO ROOT!
I just downloaded Watchdog pro, you did not make it did you , I don't want to root as i paid a lot for my simfree S2 and i have only had it a couple of days.
I see you are using "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" , I have been using it for months with a few android phones, I wish Samsung had realtime mah/current usage like HTC.
I have my S2 on charge at the moment with an 650mah Sony Ericsson charger, and "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" is saying it`s charging my S2 at 989mah
Check out my post history and you'll see where I discovered Watchdog. I have nothing to do with that app.
5:30pm and I'm at 61%. This is outrageous. Normally the battery would be completely dead at this time and already on the charger. Screens attached.

I set the threshold at 1%.
Mine is very odd. Overnight, everything on (no special settings), I typically lose 10-15%. Nothing changed. During the day, I lose 40% with maybe 10 minutes of use. Display is always listed as high, but with 10 minutes of use, that seems really weird.
This whole battery thing is also temprature related. Yesterday was kinda warm here. Had to charge my phone twice. While normaly on a lot of use I can get 12+15hours.

It's called 'Watchdog Task Manager Lite' or 'Watchdog Task Manager Pro'
The Pro version has the blacklist feature, the lite version works more like a task manager, monitoring CPU and killing apps when they reach a certain threshold use of your CPU. In the UK the Pro version costs £2.14 (exVAT).
Hello!
My sgs2 battery lasts for 5-6 hours
Im not using it that much. I play games for 30mins and thats all. I don't use it all time.
I was thinking that battery is broken so i bought another but 2000mah and it didnt help too but lasts one more hour . Im really worried.
I have mA usage widget and it sometimes shows 600mA 300mA screen off 200mA.
I've frozen all unnecesary apps.
I have kernel siyah 2.6.7
Can someone help me?
Check for wakelocks.

It will help also have you checked what is consuming battery? Do you have data, wifi or bluetooth on?
Sent from my sgs2 running cm9 using xda app
Yes I checked everything. I have wifi bt 3g off, screen 40% in battery usage it says screen eats 70% battery and the rest is some apps 2-3%
You were given a way to possibly increase battery life from Oinky, and you dismissed what he said with "Thanks but I don't think it will help" ?
You're obviously an idiot then. And frankly, you don't deserve help at all after that.
Do you realise BetterBatteryStats is probably the best way to nail down wakelocks that can chew thru battery, once you've taken a look at the really obvious stuff ?
Clearly not.
"Some apps".
Very helpful. These apps don't have a name then? Too lazy to type them? You think we should guess?
You don't seem to want any help. You definitely don't deserve any.
Best keep your charger handy.
1. Are u using a task killer..if so don't
2. Are u rommed? It could be that theres one on x10 that ate my battery n am on a 2.6k mAh.
3. Ur kernel.. if its oc cud be a problem.
Turn mobile data, backgroud data, auto-sync and of couse your brightness, can save battery, if all this fails i suggest seeing your phone provider about it
Xperia x10i
DonutHD
DoomKernel v6
Unlocked and unbranded.. Bye bye vodafone
I would give you some help on it but I don't think you will think that would help.

Hope you're battery's down to 5-6 seconds soon.
Check out a poster here who goes by the sadly inappropriate name of TheMegaStar - you two are made for each other.
Original poster seems a funny guy, don't think he wants our help.
Check for wakelocks, change your modem, try a different kernel if rooted, try a new rom if rooted, don't use any task killers.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
According to the notification bar you have bluetooth enabled and the app reports that your Wifi is running a lot [*]. Both drain the battery, especially since a lot of apps will use the open data connection to update, pull and push data.
If you're keeping 3G on, you might want to check if IDLE is supported (so-called fast dormancy) since non-idle HSPA connections drain the battery very quickly.
My guess is that people with extremely low loss-% drop back to 2G or disable data networking altogether when not using it.
(I prefer dropping to 2G since apps can still receive updates)
Additionally it also depends on the background apps (of course) and your network strength. If you're on 1-2 bars (or even dropping out sometimes) it needs more power than an excellent connection.
[*] Wifi also requires a lot of power to scan for nearby networks if you're not currently connected to a network.

I need some assistance, I just flashed MeanROM 5.7 this morning and seem to be experiencing the same issue, a draining battery. It's like 8:30am and I unplugged about 6:30am. I'm currently at 77% with very light usage. I've sent maybe 20 text messages and spent maybe 10 minutes in various apps. My on screen time is currently 29 minutes. I have email set to sync every 4 hours, weather syncs every three hours, I created the MeanRom.opt file and set parameters for battery. Is there anything I can do to increase my battery life as I hear about others getting at least a full day out of their battery.

I get 30+ hours with almost 4 hours of screen on try turning off auto sync and whatever else is not neccesary such as GPS and IMHO changing to battery I tried it once and got horrible battery life you can also check Better Battery Stats and see if some rouge programs are running I know GN is a big battery killer also I always heard having wifi on as much as possible was supposed to save battery but.. I had mine on and it kicked the crap out of my battery I saw in BBS that wifi had almost 6000 wakelocks so I turned it off until I needed it then back off when done no more battery problems.
It's not uncommon to have mediocre battery life immediately after flashing a ROM...give it a day or two to settle and it should improve. That's typically been the case for me.

Yeah, that would help...wifi uses less battery than 3g too, so use that whenever you can. Just make sure the "Best WiFi Performance" option is disabled in wifi settings (it drains battery pretty aggressively).
You really shouldn't have to disable your data connection to get decent battery life though. Have you let the battery run all the way down? How many hours do you get on a full charge? Do you have the same problem with other roms?

I never turn off my 3g. It seems that if it doesn't need data, that it isn't using the 3g. It's on but in a standby mode.
