Problem with reading phone on computer - HTC EVO 3D

Since I went through the S-Off tutorial, I installed the file they said to for drivers, and I haven't gotten it to work again since.
it makes the noise over and over and over again like it's recognizing it in my computer, but never does.
I've uninstalled all the drivers, then reinstalled the driver pack. When that didn't work, I've reinstalled HTC Sync and the driver pack I had working before again...still didn't work.
Could a problem be with the SD card itself? Could it be corrupted somehow from an incomplete file transfer, etc
any ideas?
edit: not the SD card, so I guess it HAS to be a driver issue
frustrating as hell, tired of re installing drivers

Opera 10 Crash after connecting to PC

Hi
I've installed Opera 10 to my storage card on my HD2 and have noticed that after dis-connecting from my PC (as a disk drive) if I try to launch Opera 10, I get the following error message:
'Opera10-armv4i' is not a valid Pocket PC application.
I have to soft reset to get it running again.
I'm on the stock 1.48 ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's what happens when your device doesn't have access to the storage card and you try and run software installed on it. I had the exact issue earlier tonight, but it was still plugged in at the time - I was being a numpty. As soon as I unplugged it I could run the app.
I take it this issue persists with you after you unplug then? Maybe your device isn't recognising that you've unplugged the cable.
If I try to run the application (Opera) when connected to the PC, its a different message:
The file 'Opera10-armv4i' cannot be opened..........
I've also tried installing directly to the device and get the same error.
That is strange then. A bit obvious, but have you googled the error message to see if it's a common Opera 10 problem?
Yes - tried to Google but nothing!
Well I'm sorry mate, but I can't help. I'm sure someone on here will have some good ideas.
Good luck getting it sorted!
Just replicated the same error on my spare stock 1.43 ROM HD2.
How are ppl installing this cab? Directly from the SD card on the phone or via PC / Activesync?
I'd imagine via a cab. That's where I originally did it from, but I uninstalled it way back. I didn't like the lack of pinch-to-zoom that was in the earlier version, so I just dumped it.
Maybe it's a general Opera issue. It would be interesting to see if any others who have Opera 10 could reproduce the problem.
Interestingly, just connected it to my Macbook as a disk drive and the error hasn't replicated.
Strange......
im getting the same error. DL'ed a fresh copy of Opera 10 Beta 3, removed old version, deleted registry keys and reinstalled onto storage card. Been having this problem for some time now. Strange thing is, I can play my music, navigate through my storage card, and even install the .cab from the storage card, but it doesnt seem to like running Opera anymore. It ran just fine until a few weeks ago.
I had also hooked up my phone to my PC as both a storage device and Active Sync.
I have the same problem.
Installed on HTC TP2 from cab on storage card and now there is an error.
same error
I have the same error. Where any of you able to fix it? if so how? thanks in advance.
I have the same problem! I can just soft reset to get it working again.
Any other good touch browser?
Thanks
I am getting exactly the same problem. I have uninstalled it, downloaded the cab again and installed (copied cab to SD and installed onto SD).
Edit:
After some more routing around it seems that if you connect via USB as a disk drive it causes the problem. A soft reset should solve it. Connecting through Active Sync does not cause this issue. I was copying some files across last night using **** drive access mode (something I rarely do), and I started to see the error message.
Soft reset cures it (I guess until you want to connect using disk drive access again!).
I think this mostly happens when we try to open opera from home screen short cut (on Sense, SPB MS etc.). I often face this issue and when I open it from start menu it works sometimes, otherwise I have to do a soft reset.
Thanks

[Q] HELP! HTC sense won't load, file WifiNoStandby cannot be opened

HELP! my HTC sense won't load, it stated that the file WifiNoStandby cannot be opened and my i can't even get the phone to connect (have done both soft and hard reset?)
the error message says try reinstalling!
Sounds like you had a cab install go bad and now sense doesn't like you anymore. If you did a hard reset that should have solved your problem... are you sure you did it correctly?
i had installed the DhillonBros CAB files for VOIP and then tried uninstalling them a few weeks back but they did n't uninstall properly....ended up installing the latest PortSip instead.
have tried to hard reset again...and now other files (like the 'CommManagerLink' file cannot be opened. Either it not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found....) this happens when i try to open the Comm Manager....and similar error messages when trying to run other apps/programs
I also had problems with the Data Connection struggling to connect recently so not sure if thats related ?

[Q] Trouble with Deleting Music Files

Hi, I hope you can help me. My phone memory is getting too full, so I have tried to delete music files using HTC Sync Manager. It has worked in the past, but is not now. I have tried 3 times to delete files, but they still remain on my phone! I highlighted the files in Sync Manager under my phone folder, it shows that it is deleting in the little icon, however, when I unplug my phone from my computer, they are still there. I have also turned my phone on and off to see if that helps, but it didn't. Is this some new problem with Sync Manager and HTC Desire X phones???
Hope you can help! Thanks! Nancy

Have you tried to delete files using a file manager directly on the phone like ES File Explorer (just search for it on Google Play)? That should avoid the need of connecting it to a PC for deleting files on the phone.
As far as alot of space being taken up check LOST.DIR (i think) on your sdcard, it might have a few large files there that are corrupt (used to happen to me quite alot)
Try to Wipe all data, cache and sdcard

[Q] In desperate need of help!

So I totally jacked up my phone and I don't know what else to do. I have the Galaxy S3 tmobile (sgh-t999). I had rooted it over a year ago and everything was fine until today. I had used Odin and set up the clockworkmod... rom... thing. Of course now I doubt I even did that correctly, maybe I'm just in over my head...anywho...
I was trying to transfer some files from my pc to the phone. (kies air never worked for me) Well, I had plugged in my phone and in windows explorer it showed something along the lines of 'samsung mtp phone' when I opened it up only 2 folders showed... media and data. The data folder looked like the list of files/folders I would see when I'm in the file manager on the phone but everything listed were showing ad unknown file types. No option to open anything up. The media folder was the same but only listed my pictures and music.
Well, i had rebooted phone and computer, reinstalled usb drivers, same result. So I guessed that maybe my rom version was outdated or something. No luck on figuring out how to update, so I had the briliant (sarcasm) idea to try a different rom. Long story short on that mess, the new rom didn't improve anything with help of transferring files from pc. Then I decided maybe factory reset would fix the issue.
Here comes more ignorance on my part, apparently the new mod I put in was removed but the original stayed. Fine whatever. Here's where my phone it jacked up...
First off, I don't have my notification bar (I've checked in every setting menu, no avail)
I am also missing my web browser (tried downloading from play store which leads to next issue)
I cannot download anything from the play store, I click on install and nothing happens, no error message, nothing (I had attempted to download the .apk file for google chrome and move it onto my phone via memory card but when I click on it to install it says 'unable to find application to perform this action')
Now trust me, I have tried clearing cache, clearing data, app permissions, force stop, uninstall updates and I've done a factory reset 5 times. I apologize for the long post, but I just want to give all the info I can and hope to no end that I can get my phone functional again. What else can I do??
wow such a long letter
ok let me think about it
and tell about it soon as possible
Update....
I got the idea to flash the stock rom back onto the phone. After I flashed it and did another factory reset, I have been able to get my phone functional again. Everything is working fine. Even the phone doesn't know it had been rooted. Currently I am getting everything updated while it is still stock, I'll then just root it to get rid of the bloatware... no more tinkering.

USB and MTP problem

Hi everyone, i'm having an issue with my G5. I can't connect the smartphone to the PC with MTP mode, it only recharges. I tried to download and install drivers ( from the LG's website ) but the smartphone doesn't appear to the PC. What could i do?

if yes then go to Developer Options (if not enabled go to Settings > About phone > Software infor and tap Build number 5 times) and set your USB configuration to MTP

When I transitioned to the G5 from my G3 I have trouble with this stuff, I had to uninstall every single piece of LG software and reinstall just the stuff that I now needed. I downloaded everything fresh and I have no trouble now. Hope this helps.

by chance, did you change the port from the PC?
also did you try to uninstall drivers and install again
on my Windows 10 all seems to have been installed automatically
Yes i tried with another port, but nothing. Now i'm trying to uninstall drivers, will let you know.
Uninstalled all the drivers, and tried to install from zero, but nothing.
Edit: tried to insert a micro-sd in the smartphone, but nothing displayed on the PC. i'm also having a strange problem with the microphone: i haven't problem while i'm in a call, but it doesn't work sometimes when i'm on skype, facebook or whatsapp

When I got my S4 a few years ago I couldn't get my PC to properly recognize it at all. Ended up installing "PDAnet for Android" (free version) which in turn took care of all the correct drivers or something, but after that it worked fine.
When I got the G5 last month I didn't have to do anything (PDAnet is still installed, but not running/active) - I simply plugged it in and it worked.
Might be worth a shot for you? It's a small app and doesn't do anything if you disable it from starting up when Windows starts

1 hour ago, i tried again to uninstall and install everything, and after some attempts it worked. When i unplugged it and plug it again, it didn't work. Took some other attempts and it worked again .-.
I'll try this app too, thank you. PS: do you have some problem with the microphone using whatsapp or something like that sometimes?

I only use Whatsapp for texting sorry, the only calls I make are through the dialer/phone app and I've not had any issues there.

I found out a simple way through sheer luck. Might work if its not working or for those who are having these problems.
So I noticed that the MTP driver wasn't installed AFTER I fixed the problem. So, once you have your phone to "transfer files" go to "devices and printers" on your Windows and you should find your LG phone under "Unspecified". Right click and go to properties. Then go to the hardware tab and update your driver from there. Make sure to update via online. Worked for me
I had this same problem. I switched USB mode from MTP to PTP, and it solved it.
This source agrees that LG devices need to be set to PTP, unlike all other Android devices: recovery-android.com/fix-android-file-transfer-mac.html
BTW: Did someone recognize, that some files are missing if connected to pc?
I have copied "all" files from ext. sd-card of my G5 to an external drive.
But as i had compared ext. sd-card with an external sd-card reader, there is a big difference of file count!!
It was the same effect, after copying files between int. mem and ext. sd! Sometimes this files are also not visible if connected to pc!
Could someone explain it to me?
