I should start by saying ive never posted here before but i am on xda like 4 hours a day, so please bare with me. Im a flashaholic, and recently ive been trying to learn to port/make roms, ive used every tutorial and have managed to fix every error ive been getting when flashing (status 6-7), tho i must admit im not sure specifically what i did to fix them. heres my biggest problem, i get to flashing this rom and it says successful but it doesnt actually install anything...ive tried everything, i cant figure it out, other roms i flash install no problem so it has to be something im doing or missing. Another small problem im having is that pj75img.zip will not flash from bootloader(for whatever reason)...i wont deny im a noob, im running android kitchen on cygwin...i am s-off (lazypanda), using twrp, currently running liquid smooth rom...im desperate for help, maybe a little guidence in what im doing and how to do it...i really wanna learn from the devs here, you guys are genius's please help me!!!!!

whats up dude, thanks for the help, i attached my updater-script, if u want the whole thing of what im working on ill be more then happy to attach it as well (though i did use the updater script from my liquid smooth rom (im still learning what kind of difference that makes because their like 90% the same))...i zipped up the file so i could attach it
I've had it happen a few times where twrp would just reject the zip file for no apparent reason but if I let it boot normally, then went back into the recovery it would start working again.
Another thing to try would be pulling the log file from the recovery, just have it connected with adb and use 'adb pull /tmp/recovery.log' after it fails and check to see how far it got

^^^THIS.....but, make sure you do it before you reboot the phone....while still in recovery after the install fails....
Thanks for the help guys, so i did what you said and it turns out my system is not installing, it installs the partitions and the boot.img but its not installing the system...do you think the problem could be...the system, the zip, the updater-script, the build.prop?.im goin nuts, i had like 4 days with no sleep working on this lol

Try this updater-script and let me know if it works. If not, can you upload the ROM your working on? I'll take a look at it.
All I changed is the way it formats and mounts /system.
Does anyone have a good downlink for RUU 4.03.605.2? I have searched everywhere to find one. The androidpolice site seems to be down as I get a javascript error when I try to download from there and none of the mirrors work. I tried to download from the dropbox link posted in a different topic but it was corrupted everytime I downloaded. I s-off'd as soon as I could and I haven't updated anything since except changed roms and want to update to the newest update and then go back to my current rom which is viper 1.0.3. Thanks for any help. Once I find the link I just need to flash the ruu twice, factory reset, flash jbear hboot, recovery and rom of my choice is that correct?
I distributed it as a torrent file within a few hours of Android Police posting it. Apparently uTorrent isn't very popular in these forums.
If we had a hundred seeders it would be the fastest way to download the RUU file.

I tried that one about 8 times yesterday and it never worked so I tried it again and I get the same error as yesterday "{"INFO":"failed posted hashcheck","SOLUTION":"please make sure you have javascript enabled for androidfilehost.com. Hit the back button, enable javascript and try again please. we promise we are probably not doing anything nefarious. maybe. no promises though."}" My javascript is already enabled and I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit w/windows explorer 9. I downloaded that bit torrent but it says it is corrupt and it took 4 hours to download.
Edit: I just tried it on Windows XP with explorer 8 and got the same error message.
Edit: Just downloaded Google Chrome and it is working. Internet Explorer is the problem.

Try the download from your phone. I had the same invalid folder message when downloading it from a PC. Once I did it from my phone, the download worked.

Thanks, I actually just tried that and it downloaded about 10x faster but I had the same error message. I verified the MD5 and then used a zip file repair to recover it and it worked. I just flashed it twice but it did fail on MDM_CUST, TPZ and Radio Cust2 and then I did a factory reset. It just rebooted and appears to be working correctly.
Shipped-roms.com, has it.....downloads fast. Vigor section.

Thanks. there servers appear to be down. I'll try them again later. My phone appears to be working but the last update had 3 things fail on the update so I will probably redo it once I find a good download think. Thanks again.
EDIT: I got the same corrupt error message from shipped-roms as I did from Androidpolice on both my phone and computer. It got me thinking and it ended up being my winzip program was saying it was corrupt when it wasn't. I changed to 7zip and the error message went away and I just reflashed my phone and it went perfect without any errors. Thanks for the all the help.

how can i use this process. my phone says S-on and its stuck in a bootloop. is there a tool i can use with S-on? i downloaded the android police but my phone isn't being reconginize by my computer. what can i do. i've turned off my phone and hit the power button a few times while the battery was out. that didn't work. i took out the sd card and did it again. that didn't work. right now my phone also says tampered and relocked but i can't get it off the white screen. i did a factory reset and that didn't work i rebooted the bootloader and that didn't work. im totally lost now..

I would love to help but its been so long since I messed around with the Ruu I don't remember what to do (hey that rhymed) but I would ask someone int the Q&A sections they may be able to help you better than I.

haha. yea that was pretty funny. i did post it in the Q & A but no hits. it has almost 70 views but no one is bitting. i don't know if im giving too much info or not the right info. could you take a look at it and let me know if its something i could add or be more specific. i would have thought by now someone would have it figured out.

yes im on S-on and yes i followed the instructions and now my phone is stuck. im trying to install the original vzw stock using ph98.img. its stuck in the hboot screen and i can't get it out. and my phone pc isn't recognizing my computer. my problem started when i used hasoon2000 all in one tool kit and locked my bootloader. now i can't get off this white hboot screen. the only opitions i have is fastboot, recovery, factory reset, clear storage ,simlock, image crc..
any suggestions
you may need to get a card reader so put the ph98.img back on the sd not in any files and install it in fastboot again twice
Hi all. Im new and I have a problem which I cant seem to fix.
I bricked my phone trying to drop it to stock so that I could get ICS. I had gingerbread at the time.
So when I got it bricked. I googled and tried a bunch of things like Droid razr utility 1.4, 1.7,1.8. I tried them all to restore my phone to the original ,but everytime it doesnt work. I get errors saying stuff like " failed <remote> and it just keeps occuring...
I cant go into recovery mode or anything else, I can only use AP fast boot :\ .
Its really annoying know,I downloaded a bunch of tools and all have not work...the only one I havent used is RSDlite. But im confused about it because Im suppose to download the file its suppose to restore to.But I cant find it...my phone is the motorola droid razr ,and its GSM im pretty sure. I live in Canada :s...and I remember seeing it used asia retail version. So i dont know if that helps...I know it had gingerbread because everytime I had a system update to 6.1.40 or something like that. And it would always fail like 25% through installation...thats why I tried restoring to stock.
....So please help me. Im really stuck and dont know what to do.

If you are sure that you are using an asian razr gsm,
you can download this fastboot file "673.94.324.XT910.PSHAsiaRetail.en.03" from this forum:

I got a new problem now...this is ridicoulous. Battery is low. Im stuck in AP fast boot failure screen. cant do anything. i try charging into the wall.and no lights go .so Idk if its even charging...i tried pluggin it into my pc, a while light appears.but idk if thats charging either...im so frustrated and have no idea what to do...please tell me you know how to get my phone charging. because I looked on google and so far nothing has worked.tried resetting phone.waited a bit before charging ,still didnt work . I have no clue what to do.

Everytime I try droid uitlity. it does nothing. I get failed remote.....i tried all versions. 1.8,1.7,1.6,1.4-1.142.
Also I should note.I think the reason my phone is bricked is because I tried downgrading but I didnt root my phone...so yea.
Shouldnt matter if you were rooted or not if your going to Fast Boot back. You are using the Utility for GSM and not CDMA?
The instructions to flash back using fastboot are here: http://theunlockr.com/2012/01/24/how-to-restore-the-motorola-droid-razr-using-fastboot-files/ and the fastboot files can be found here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org Just make sure you're using the right file for your carrier, and the md5 matches.
Once you're on stock ICS, you might want to think twice about rooting it. Motorola includes a root checker in the ICS update. I wish I would have realized this before I rooted, since the only thing I really needed was wifi tethering, which you can get on stock, unrooted using FoxFi.

I wanna run something by.Im not sure which SBF fastboot file to get...my phone is a GSM im pretty sure because it was XT_910..I live in Canada,but I remember reading something in the " about phone" area saying my version was something like " asiaretail"....any ideas which one would suit my phone?
Okay so next problem...I got rsdlite 5.7 . I tried 3 different versions...the "spyderird_u.01.26.0...sign_asia" didnt pass the first step...and the "fastboot-p2b_spyd....chinaretail " aswell didnt pass the first step....but I tried the "SPDREM_U_01.6.5.1-7..hwp2b._SIGNED" and i got all the way to the 6th step...so im concluding I just have to find the one that takes me through the process fully....any ideas which version would acheive this?

The files on http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php are listed according to carrier. Did you try the file that's specified for your carrier?

I wanna try that.but I exceeded download limit for the day -.- lol ...so i have to wait...imma try the other 2 downloads which have canadian carriers...the fido and rogers one.
FIXED ! I used the FIDO version because it downloaded first...only thing is it shows the FIDO logo on startup and im not with them :$ ..Ill have to re-unlock my phone again I think,but oh well. Thank you all couldnt have done it without yall ! ...if you got any questions ,feel free to ask

I have a atrix 4g unlocked, rooted, and I went to put a rom on earlier didnt take. Tried to boot back into my recovery wouldnt let me. Now I cant get into recovery but can still accees the fastboot, etc... I have error message: magic value mismatch U (". while being stuck on the motorola screen. Help Please!!!!!
If you can still access fastboot, use that to reflash recovery.

I'm also stuck with this message however, I cannot run RSD because my battery is too low. How can I charge it if the phone does not even boot?
You have 2 options:
an external charger
a stripped USB cable

hey guys, i have no clue what happened. i havent fooled around and fiddled with my HDX 8.9 in months. i rooted it in december and installed safestrap last month (but i didnt use it. i only installed safestrap in anticipation of a rom) and out of the blue my kindles wifi stopped working yesterday. i decided to restart it bc thats the ultimate fix for all electronics but now its stuck on the animated kindle fire boot logo. ADB works and i can also boot into fastboot. Thats where my knowledge ends. i dont have the knowledge you guys have and i have googled this for the past 3 hoours but to no avail. i would find other help on other devices but i dont wanna risk ruining my hdx even more by trying another devices fix.
can anyone tell me how to recover from adb. i tried this:

did you use the normal usb calbe to boot into fastboot mode? or you were using a special usb cable?
if you can boot into safesatrap, then your hdx is not a brick at all ,you can fix it in safestrap ,try to google the ways using the SS.

thanks for response. i was using a normal cable. are you sugesting that i load amazons official firmware over my stock partition through SS? this is why i was asking because this is what it seems google say to do. i was planning on doing that but i didnt want to mess my device up more so thats why i was asking. i was thinking of creating a slot and installing stock firmware on it and see if it was safe but because my internal storage doesnt mount and shows up as 0mb i was unable to create a slot and load the firmaware.
please be a little more specific as to what i should be googling and i will gladly do it. i hate asking questions in forums bc i dont want to be that guy who takes peoples time up for a simple solutioin but the truth is that i looked everywhere before i asked the question. i have a couple of methods i would like to use but i dont know which one is the right one and the safest one. im leaning towards reloading stock amazon firmware into the stock slot on SS.
thanks again and sorry for being a pain. im a noob compared to most of you guys but believe it or not im quite tech saavy.

great... thanks to you guys. now should i just go ahead and push it through adb and flash it?? does it matter that internal storage doesnt mount in SS?

I have only installed it on a rom slot. It worked like it should but in your case I'm not sure.
