Jpg files wrong color displayed - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, has anyone experienced the same problem?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8qsaZUPeEw
I just copied simple JPG files from my digital camera to the root of the SGT10.1. Same files are displayed correctly on other devices such as Nexus S or SGSII.

bootanimation for viewpad7
Since there is nothing listed here so far, ill just post my stuff here.
I've created a custom bootanimation.zip based on the dr who title sequence and tweaked it so i would run well on my viewpad.
Images are ripped from youtube video, so i can only take credit for converting and resizing them. to reduce size and speed up loading time i've reduced the images to 400x240 and stretched them out using desc.txt in the zip.
Install the bootanimation.zip using adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
I've also included a replacement boot sound to go with the animation. My viewpad 7 runs DearDeer.ogg from /system/media/audio/notifications/DearDeer.ogg as it's bootup sound. The only way I've found to change that is replace the file with something else of the same title.
Wow loove the boot animation!
Whats the procedure for creating it etc, I tried to edit the standard one off mine, I edit a few frames with ''stolen from ''+my address and re-saved the frames, rezipped, copied back into the phone, and it just skips my edited frames...
Whats the specific file format and what did you save the frames with/as ?
Not exactly sure what you mean, but when rezipping, have you set the compression to store ? if you compress the images in the zip they wont load.
My procedure:
1. downloaded youtube video from dr who title sequence in mp4 format.
2. Used Quicktime Pro to cut and export the video to a BMP image sequence.
3. Used Irfanview to resize the pictures to 400x240 and 256 colours to reduce size.
4. used Irfanview to convert the BMP to PNG
5. used pngout to further compress the PNG files for smallest file size
6. Downloaded a custom bootanimation.zip and replaced the png files inside.
7. Edited desc.txt in the bootanimation.zip for correct screensize

+1 nice & good start, going to try it out once DW get home as it's hers now to use.
Anyone got customized & business-like ringtones (Mp3 format?) to share - non.copyrighted ones, please - the stock ones included sounded subdued and not distinctive - not that we've planning to use it as an oversized smartphone.
TIA.

Netflix works perfectly on the Viewpad 7e.
Sent from my SPH D700 using XDA App
Cyanogen Mod 9.2. I like my Ice Cream!
Works really cool but it takes for ever to start.
Can you explain better the desc.txt ?

[HOW TO] 3D photo EDITING!!!!! UPDATED 2-26-12

For quite a while I wondered how to edit my 3D photos, not anything too crazy just things like adjusting the contract, saturation, etc.. By default it seems that our camera captures 3D photos in mpo format, which is not possible to edit as easily as a jpeg in a photo editor. HOWEVER, if you set the format to jps, you can now edit them in any photo editor that can edit jpeg files!! Apparently jps files are just jpeg files with the right and left images side by side. I have attached a sample I did, for upload I had to set the file extension to jpg because jps wouldn't allow a file size over 97kb?! Anyhow I did this one in PicSay Pro but you can of course get more creative and use Photoshop or my favorite, GIMP. It's VERY EASY to do and very fun. For the longest time I didn't know how to do this so I thought I'd post this info for the others like me that didn't know. I was able to open the file for editing without changing the extension from jps to jpg/jpeg, HOWEVER the photo editing applications if they don't recognize or allow you to save it as a "jps" file extension just save it as a normal jpeg/jpg and then manually change the extension to jps and you will be able to view it in 3D like normal on your EVO 3D. ENJOY!!!!!!!
UPDATE:
You can now even edit your MPO 3D images, from your phone, but you have to convert them to SIDE BY SIDE JPEG first, and you can use this great program to do it! Tobidale3D!
Here's how:
1. Install Tobidal3D.
2. View your MPO 3D image from the regular Gallery*.
3. Select SHARE for the photo you want to convert, select Tobidale3D, then select SHARE AS 3D*.
4. Press MENU, then select Parallel Stereo Format (see attached).
*Optional method: You can just open Tobidale3D and view all your pics with it directly then save from there, but I think using the gallery is easier.
Now you can edit the newly saved file as it's converted to a side by side jpeg jps file (it has a jpeg/jpg extension). The rest of the original editing instructions apply.
Awesome editor! I would recommend in addition to PicSay Pro, which costs about 4 bucks, you can use Pixlr-o-matic. It's free and works great and creates high res images, unlike some editors. The default native editor apparently saves in the exact same resolution as the original file. So that's another option if you want to keep full resolution and if you're happy with the editing effects offered by it.
I have attached a zip file with the original MPO file, the file converted to SBS, one edited with the native gallery editor (High Contrast option), then 8 images edited with Pixlr-o-matic. I have optimized the jps files using GIMP on my PC for the sake of file size for this thread, usually however the pics were about a meg in size each.
Hope you guys enjoy editing your 3D pictures!!!!!!!!
Awesome man Thanx....
Nice,I got some work to do now lol

Conversion
Sorry if it's off topic a bit (which it is, or I wouldn't say that right?), but I can't find the result I'm looking for ANYWHERE. I just got an Aiptek 3D Camcorder, and it takes pictures not in .JPS, not in .MPO, but a regular side by side .JPG! I'm trying to find an online tool, or application (I'm on a Mac but I could probably run it in CrossOver if it's a Windows app) to convert FROM .JPG to either .MPO or .JPS. The end result is I want to create a wiggle animated GIF so that I don't need glasses to show people 3D pictures I've taken, so if someone even knows of a process to convert from .JPG to an animated GIF wiggle that would be even better. Thanks in advance!

Rename the jpg files to JPS. Viola! JPS is the same as JPG just has the JPS extension to show it's a STEREO (S) Jpeg. There is an application for windows to convert stereo images here:

Good luck!

[Q] Picture for contact problem - only PNG works

Hi,
I have few days my first android phone - Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro with official ROM - Android 2.3.4. I tried to add a pictures (first approx 256x256 px pics) to my contact and found this stupid problem:
I cannot add a picture from the contact editing dialog - it looks like it works OK, I select the picture from the default gallery app, crop it etc., but after saving there is no picture - so I have to use reverse approach - open gallery, select pic, then choose the option to set as contact image etc.
This way it works but only with PNG files - I found this after several unsuccessful attempts. The JPG always failed - even with pictures from phone camera. But after converting the images to PNG format it works.
Although this is probably minor issue for many people, it is annoying (because my previous phone - SE K300i had no problem with JPG or PNG files).
Is this global bug of this Android version or is it only related to my phone model? Did you also encounter such problem?
thanks

[Q] Designing Custom Wallpaper Question

I am fairly adept with photoshop and make my own wallpapers for PC, cell, etc. I finally got around to making one for my nook tab, but now I have a question.
The colors are very bright and vibrant when on my PC, but after moving it to my nook and setting it as the wallpaper, they are very dim and dingy.
I have tried them in both .png and .jpeg formats. The files are in RBG mode and at 72 pixels/inch. I turned it up to 300 pixels/inch (print quality) and nothing changed. CMYK doesn't translate the pink hue well for my taste so I have stayed away from that one. I have also tried putting it in as a picture instead of a wallpaper with no success.
Is there something special that needs to be done? Has anyone else see or experienced this?
After copying the images unto your nook tablet memory install a photo editor and try enhancing the image until you get desired color saturation, brightness, contrast etc viewing on your tablet. Save the image with desired enhancements and than apply as wallpaper.
Any recommendations on a program? I have a unrooted stock NT. I haven't tried to do any editing on it before.
Adobe photoshop express! and associated apps in search result.

[Q] Problem Saving Edits in Gallery after KK update

I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems saving edits to photos when using Gallery? I can't save the new image after cropping (it saves another copy of the original image) but some other operations seem to save fine (e.g., flipping the image).
