Need Dev help porting an apk - HTC EVO 3D

Hello. I am a noob so there may be some noob questions in here. Please don't flame me.
So I have the 3DSpace.apk from the optimus 3d. I am trying to figure out what needs to be changed to get it to install on our phones. I have decompiled. There are a ton of folders and just don't know where to start. Don't even know if its possible but thought I'd give it a shot.
Thanks in advance.

Looking for help with cm7

I have a bootable cm7 port, and I need a experienced porter/kernel dev to take it over or help me get working. Right now there is no usb, sound or network. So please pm me for the download link. We need to get cm7 up and running.
its already in the works.
Just leave it alone and let the devs get it working.
So do you have touch input working? As far as I know none of the others have that working.
You might want to post it up with the download link in the dev section. You might also want to pm some of the dev's making senseless roms they have been taking out sense stuff and adding aosp stuff lately, so they might know what needs to be in there to make it work.

No you DO NOT want to do this.
This doesn't belong in the Development section and to tell you the truth shouldn't even be in this section. You should of done a search and seen there's already a thread on this. You don't even have the newest version. There's already one with touchscreen and Sound working and it boots.

Dude what do you think the development section is for? Maybe developing a rom possibly? Look at the op's join date 2007, I highly doubt he is noob, which would make me assume this is a real trying to recruit people to work on this.
Also it is better to have more people working on something than just one. If only one person had worked on our root we might still only have temp root now. revolutionary didn't just stop because they heard somebody else was working on root.

The OP is actually smart and not listened to whoever it was that suggested it.
I agree with JOEY_UFC. it does not belong in development.

Why are you knocking him for trying it on his own? Every Dev has to start somewhere. If he wants to attempt to learn, people should be encouraging him not telling him to leave it alone for the "real" devs. When I ported clockwork recovery to the dell streak 7 I knew nothing about Linux or android development , but the community helped me learn the ropes and encouraged me to get it done, Not discouraged me telling me to leave it alone and wait for a more experienced Dev to get it working.

Um, so what if somewhat is already working on it? For all we know this guy may be more talented than Toastcfh. Perhaps he can find the solution to something that Toast cannot figure out... Bottom line, Android development is a collaboration and we shouldn't scold people for trying to help, develop, and contribute.

SMH. No wonder we have the worst forum on xda.
i think the OP should keep up the good work. since when was it a rule that a specific dev can work on CM7 and no one else. XDA is supposed to be about helping others when help is needed, not scolding people and trying to break their spirits. all the OP is doing is asking for a little help, and like someone previously stated, he may have found/fixed something that the other devs working on CM7 missed
This forum should just get rid of post counts. People feel the need to talk when they don't have to, leading to a few spamming power users that are dicks/trolls that run the show.
Why do dudes in this forum act the way they do. Makes people not want to ask for help. Dude keep doing what your doing man. Knowledge and Fadakar I'm with you. Knowledge your so right man never seen this going on in the hero forum.

Theme tester??

Hey guys!
PlatinumAndroid and I are going to make some themes for the Amaze because, well, there aren't many lol.
Only problem is, neither of us have the Amaze.
So, we are looking for someone to test our themes before we release them.
Any takers? PM me please
EDIT:
Thanks for everyone's interest! We have all the testers needed now
I'll test if you still need someone.

[VIEW] Themer/graphic artist WANTED for CypherROM

Ok, like the heading says, I'm looking for somebody with graphics knowledge who can help CypherROM look more polished. You don't have to be the most saavy when it comes to digging around in the resource folder as myself and unixdood are good at that and just need the graphics to go with the ROM. If interested, please PM me ASAP as I am moving into the beta stage testing of my ROM and want to get it right before releasing a final build. Even if you're new to rooting but are good with photoshop don't hesitate to PM me as I like people who learn as they go (like me lol). I have a rough logo that is on the thread in Evo View development and have a few other images or the originals that I will send whoever would like to take up this task and get mad propz for doing so. Thanks for checking this out!
Bump. Come on guys, one of you has to want to contribute to the community!

Bump again, still looking for a dev or a themer. Or can some one give me a link on how to make the mod compatible?? I'm a IT admin/Data Consultant I have 10 plus year in the tech trade so I'm no stranger to long hours of reading and researching and I'm willing to do this myself if I knew were to start or what tools would I need. I mean has anyone ever typed into Google -how to make mod compatiable with newer base- or how to make mods compatible with android or how to modifiy android ??? I get all the info I'm not looking for.I mean I have been searching and I'm at a lost as to were to begin. So I'm not just asking some one to do this for me if some one has the knowledge and would share it I'd be more than happy to do it myself. Or if someone with the knowledge can make this happen without breaking a sweat well that would be greatly appreciated thanks.

have you asked fern? if not go here and ask:

at worst he'll teach you how
Yup asked already some time ago. He said was busy so he didn't have the time and he mentioned in the pm he sent back I think he wasn't theming at that particular time, my guess is with how many hours it took to port that mod and make the theme he was taking a much, much, deserved vacation Lol. That's the reason for the thread. Haven't asked since then because I haven't seen him post in any of the threads in a while so I figured he was still doing the vacation thing. I'll check out the link thanks Duce.

So start looking at performance tweaks and such, and if you are adding some stuff to pre-compiled APKs then look into smali and the tools you need to use to manipulate it.

If all you understand is XML then you are going to be hard pressed as what you want to do will need to be done by editing the smali or the Java source code

Oh boy...I just love it when people start saying
"I'm building a ROM", "I'm doing dev work", "I want to be a recognized developer"
Then I make suggestions and I get "That's too hard", "Do you have a download link" "Cn u teac me hw mak a custm kernel?"
Yet they are totally unwilling to actually invest some time into these things and LEARN it.
Guy's Rome wasn't built in a day, and your ROM isn't going to be either. Look around, read, SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH. Download other people's stuff not just to Kang it, rename/re-post it under your name, but to LEARN, to figure out how it works, so you can UNDERSTAND. This isn't like a store, where you walk in and go "I want one of those, and I'll take one of them, and please get me that, where can I find this, etc, etc." Make little modifications, tweaks on top of tweaks, and keep doing that until it's soemthing new, soemthing different, and THEN post it. But please don't limit yourself, to what is "Easy" or "Comfortable", it's not the way to get anywhere with real development work, much less in life. Put some time into it, and some effort. I really do wish you all luck, but you guys have to stop looking for the easy way to get some quick credit.
[/RANT]
@OP I know of zero performance modifications that you can do in XML, and if you are looking to use someone else's work and use that then start searching and make sure you ask before you use it.

Who are you referring it to? I cooked a rom and I think that I have made the rom. Of you don't have anything to help me then please don't comment. I don't understand smali but I know how to read tutorials and add more features in the rom by smali editing like swipe to remove, 14 toggle etc.

I never ask for an easy way out. I add features in my rom manually!!

He was being helpful, he is bringing up a attitude that is rampant here on XDA, namely the "cooking" of ROMs. There are WAY too many people who just cook a ROM in a kitchen and claim to have "developed" it. No, you just re-packaged somebody's work, it's not the same thing. I'm not saying it's useless, but it causes way to many "developer" wanna-be's that just aren't interested in actually learning something. Up above we posted suggestions and you responded with

That creates the impression that you aren't wanting to try any other methods for creating ROMs. If you were trying to say that you don't know smali, then maybe you should have said something like,
I don't know smali so I'm not sure how well I could implement features like that. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Not only is that easier to read, but it also communicates much more clearly what you are trying to say/ask. But the way that post is currently worded it makes it sound like you are just wanting to re-package somebody's work and use it as your own.

This is very true, I'm new to porting and I'm starting with porting so I can learn the ins and outs of a rom so at a later time I can learn to develop, even in porting I've had to back smali and make some edits to get things working so sooner or later you will have to as well.. I'm currently reading a begginers guide on java for android.. Google is my best friend and I'm trying to learn as much as I can because I have an idea of my 'ideal' rom.. I can't wait for someone else to do it so I can port it and I know it will never be the way I want.. I'm doing it mainly for myself and I hope one day I can share with others

Best thing to do is get on the good side of a dev and ask them to teach you, I had great help from some of the best devs on XDA, but as above its not something you can just learn easily, I already had a pretty good knowledge of Java and XMLs etc before i got a smart phone lol, If you stick to it then you should get somewhere, Java is a pain in the ass though, editing .smalis is probably the hardest thing for a new dev

Well then you shouldn't have started the thread, I'm not trying to "flame" by any means... but if you wanna add some performance settings and mods I'll give you some advice thewadegeek gave me, take a look at aokps or cm9 or whoever's git repo you feel has some similar features to those you wish to add and start there, you'll get a good understanding of how everything works... at that point it comes to the fine details and making sure everything works.. when you have issues at that point you then can ask for help on getting the fine details fixed since at that time you'll have specific issues that someone can help with
