Could someone post the java app to run jar files? Dont know if it was in quarcx' 2.2 rom or stock 2.1, but it is gone in 2.3.4 and i really want it.

Have you tryed Google or the android market?
As far as i know there is still no support of any java emulator for 2.2, 2.3 that has succesfully worked. only its suported for 2.1.
Though it has past quite of few months maybe someone has found a way to get it working

There is one, but is buggy and has no arrow control, you need to use a keyboard with arrows and hold them down, I use GO Keyboard. It works fine for touch screen apps, like Top Gear though. It's here

Is someone using the Zinio Reader which came with 2.2?
If yes have you been able to download a magazine?
I find it incredibly buggy compared to the one on the Galaxy Tab and Zinio does not answer any request for support!
The Streak version is 1.0
The Tab version is 1.0.1208
There is a new version posted somewhere on the forum... using on my evo and it works GREAT, not buggy like the beta version

Can't you just upgrade it to the current version on the marketplace ?

when i search for "zinio" in the market nothing comes up
on streakdroid 1.5.1
I couldn't get the beta version included with streak to download even one magazine. Currently using v1.0.1101, works fine on my streak... would like the test the version you mentioned for the tab though

Here's the XDA thread where you can download the APKs.
I have a non rooted Streak that I have downloaded and installed the 2.2 update. After installing the ReaderHub (and I'm not sure if I needed to reinstall the Zinio app), Zinio now works fine. No more downloading to 3% and showing the same page for all pages.
The app doesn't zoom in properly though. The text is blurry when you zoom in so isn't really great on the Streak. Hopefully Zinio get their act together and put a bit more effort into the Android version. They're obviously concentrating on the iPhone/iPad version.
I have the stock version of froyo on my rogers streak and for whatever reason the Zinio app will not play at all...As soon as I open it it force closes every time...I have tried shutting off the phone and rebooting and still does the same thing. Is anyone else having that issue with the Rogers Dell Streak? We just got the upgrade from 1.6 a few weeks ago and have to admit it is pretty buggy. I have had to remove quite a few apps to get it to work properly...Including any updates to flash 10.1....that is a whole other story..lol
Hi, I´m on DJ Steves 1.5.1 and I am not able to rotate the map with two fingers. Pinch to Zoom and viewing the map at an angle works, but rotating doesn´t.
A friend of mine has the desire and with that phone rotating works, so it´s not the application.
Ok, seems to be a problem with the streak.
Has somebody tried that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9870124&postcount=2163
I am at work right know so I can´t really play around with my phone too much.
I've tried the new maps and I'm having the same issue, no map rotation.
Streaking with the XDA app!

Its doesn't for me at least. Kinda messed up the pinch to zoom and tilt function even after i put back the original file,so i have to reflash 1.5.1, just be warning
BTW are you guys on Stephen's rom? Apparently one of the guy at MoDaCo forum report that everything work on his official rom.
So i was wondering it might have something to do with Stephen's rom
I am pretty sure this has something to do with the market fingerprint being that of a nexus one.
Also having problems with personalized voice search.
Basically I think we are getting some watered down versions of some of the latest google app updates.

At least in 1.4.6 "android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.distinct" feature is not set in /etc/permissions. After it is set, rotate works properly in Maps 5.0. This has been discussed in Nexus One and Modaco Streak forums.

Works fine on my streak running stock froyo. Compare to older maps, 5.0 is a hog...

works fine on the official 318 froyo. if you have unlimited data, i suggest going to menu > more > cache settings > turn on prefetch on mobile.

Works now, thanks for the link!

I found a Gingerbread keyboard app that works flawlessly on the Defy. Follow the link;

Update: works on 2.2 fw, not sure about 2.1. If anyone can test to confirm?

just tried on 2.1, sorry to confirm, doesnt work on 2.1 (not able to find it on the market -> install it :/)
There is another Gingerbread keyboard apk that works on 2.1 fw that I was using before this one. By Hotaru, it has a few sizing issues, but works well enough. Follow the link;

I tried the Gingerbread type keyboard, it's work well but, in my humble opinion, the characters is very small and hard to read (I'm 43 yers old and my eyes know this fact )
I find another keyboard, much more "visible":
iPhone Keyboard Emulator - free on the market
PS: Sorry for my poor english!
Mh, what exactly are the major differences? Why do you think its that much better than Eclair/Froyo keyboard?
Hey does the gingerbreadkeyboard work on t mobile froyo?
Yes, it does.
Update: works on 2.2 fw

Agree, the keyboard isn't as good as the multitouch one.

I was wondering if anyone out there uses crunchyroll on their Nc. Whenever I pick a video to stream it gives me a good old force close. I'm on custom nookie froyo...thanks
Edit- oh yeah the question, is anybody able to get this to work on any variation of the nc?
It works great om my nooter based default firmware (2.1). I am sorry if you are having issues with the app.

The update over the weekend allowed it for all members to be able to use the app. I tested same release on my Evo and it was all good, but I'm looking for some 7" goodness (thats what she said). Oh, and I tried an uninstall/reinstall and titanium wipe, still no go...think I'm going to jump over to CM7 and HC to give those a test
Hey Magicalsleeper,
Wondering if you had any luck yet?
I'm also on nookie froyo on my NC and like you crunchyroll fc'ed on me.
It runs fine on my Samsung Moment phone, which is also running a 2.2 rom.
Once I figure out how to go back to stock on my NC, I'm going to try running it on plain nooter like Matarick.
Swiftkey Tablet Beta is now available to Swiftkey VIP members. If you're not a VIP member, go register why you still can. It works pretty well and I'm sure its much better on atleast a 7" device.
Head over to http://www.swiftkey.net and take a look.
Nice find. As long as it gets Greek support I would happily pay for it.
Trial version (smartphone version) is amazing. Must have for those that there is support for their native language.
I like its looks, too bad the split keyboard is too small to use effectively on the streak...but normal mode works well. If only I could change the color to green...
Nice find i like the look of this
Has anybody else loaded and been using the SKT beta? If so, have any of you experienced a Google Framework FC intermitently after install, that you didnt before?

No force closes here...been using it for a few days now with no issues (on both 319 and 339)
