My APK Data Backups Fail - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I used MyBackup Root to backup my APK and its data (Settings, saved games, etc) but upon restoring, almost all of the apps give the (The process ____ has stopped unexpectedly) or something like that error. So I installed a fresh rom again and I tried manually restoring the apps by installing the APK from the MyBackup folder. And then I replaced the data/data from the MyBackup folder. But the apps still give that error. What am I doing wrong?
Did I backup wrong all along? or can you not manually replace the data/data/com._____ files?

[Q] Titanium Backup - reinstall app from old backup?

Hi! I need to reinstall MobiTV on my tmo Vibrant so that I can cancel the service. I am running the Eugene373 Vibrant9 ROM (very nice!). I have the app backed up with Titanium from an earlier backup (there is a tar.gz and a properties file associated with the app), and have that TitaniumBackup directory stored on my laptop, but when I do what seems to be the obvious thing (copying the directory to the phone) Titanium does not give me an option to restore MobiTV. I must be missing something obvious.
Ideas? Thanks!
MobiTV is in the /system/app folder and Titanium cannot properly install into /system/app. A lot of my themed apps that I had manually pushed into the folder, like smoked widgets, never restore properly. I wind up having to push the apk's through ADB after everything else is restored.

OK. So I have gone through the TitaniumBackup directory and failed to find the relevant apk. I guess that when i told it to backup all apps and data it didn't do this apk because it was "system"?
So, I found an apk here: h t t p :// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=763580. Is this going to do what I want it to do (reinstall MobiTV)? Which directory should I push it into?
OK. The app is installs and runs, but it says it can't "authorize user". Sigh. I'm feeling like I need to start a new thread, as this one is no longer anything like the right name, nut this is one last query.... Ideas?

[Q] Game Data Backup

I'm having a problem getting games to work after the data folder is manually copied into sdcard/Android/data it always says it needs to download them by wifi even though I'm putting the exact same files in there that its downloading down to the last byte, I even copied then deleted the files they downloaded through wifi and then copied them back in and the game doesn't work.
Anyone can tell me whats going on here this doesn't make sense to me I can't backup my games!
Would probably be better if you backed up the Game app and data using Titanium Backup or My Backup. Then you can restore them intact.

I could try that but Titanium Backup has hung for me before trying to backup Shadowgun so it might not work for all games, I'd really like to understand why removing and copying back the game data breaks the game, it would be great if I could just keep the files safe on my PC.

I've used Titanium Backup to backup the data of several games (Let's Golf 3 for example with 1Gb of aditional data) and when reinstalling the ROM the game worked without problems or saying to redownload the data.
The main issue with backing up just the /sdcard folder of the aditional data is that the app probably has some variable saved saying if the aditional data has been saved or not, so maybe if you only save the /sdcard folder and reinstall the app from the market, as it doesn't have its original data will prompt you to redownload the aditional data.
I would suggest you try the following:
1) Backup the app from Titanium Backup (app+data). This does a backup of the app you download from Market, not the aditional data.
2) If you're gonna format /sdcard partition, save the aditional data in your PC or an external device to be able to restore it. Just do a copy/paste.
3) Once resintalled the ROM or whatever you're doing, restore first the /sdcard folder saved in step 2.
4) Restore the app from Titanium Backup, select restore app+data.
5) Run the app and it shouldn't ask to redownload the data.
If you're still having problems, please post which app is the one you're trying to restore.
For some reason titanium backup doesn't work for me, it will backup successfully but won't restore the apps.
My Backup pro restores the apps correctly but any downloaded data isn't for some reason. Some help would be great.

[Q] Unable Titanium bkup restore to cm7sd

Im trying to transfer apps from nt 1.40 (rooted) and am unable to restore on cm7sd. Selecting the directory where the nt backup was copied results in the apps listed (with a strikethrough), but the button to restore will not show. Is there a specific way that they need to be saved under nt, or some other trick?
Nobody has tried restoring from a rooted nook on cm7sd?
I just tried a restore from Titanium Backup and it worked fine. I restored Astro, which I had previously deleted. For some dumb reason it even works now.
Bill
Did you save with system data, or just the app?

[Q] How to restore appdata manually?

I got a replacement Galaxy s3 through insurance and I had been using "GoBackup" to backup app and data. However it didn't appear to have restored any of the appdata. I believe it may have been restoring to /data/data/data/data instead of /data/data but when I tried to copy and paste the folders to their proper location the app won't work anymore. It will just say "unfortunately, app has stopped work" whenever I try to launch the app again.
I have also tried copying the appdata folder directly from a CWM backup and tried to paste it on the new phone under /data/data and this seemed to provide some results however after rebooting the phone the data gets wiped and it's back to as if the app was freshly installed.
I can't figure out what I'm missing. Anyone have any insight?
P.S. The new phone has TWRP since it has the locked bootloader. So I couldn't just restore my CWM backup to it. The old phone got bricked trying to installed TWRP Recovery.

I was actually having the same idea. If I coppied the appdata from /data/data/data/data to /data/data, then tried to run the app it would crash every time I try to launch it. Then if I rebooted the phone it would delete all the appdata in /data/data that I copied over.
However this time I decided to copy it over again, then take a TitaniumBackup of the app+data even though the app kept crashing when I tried to launch it. Uninstalled the app, then did a titanium restore, and for some reason it worked.

Need help restoring NFC app on lollipop.

I did a stupid thing.
Used titanium backup to uninstall NFC apk.
Tried to restore backup from TB and it would hang. Upon restarting, would constantly get error message that the NFC service has stopped (likely because restore was incomplete and a system function is trying to call it). Went into nandroid backup and restored by hand, the system/app NFC files and data/data NFC files, maintaining the permissions and structure. Reboot, same app can not be started errors.
Anyone got any ideas on what I'm missing? Full nandroid restore is a last resort.
Lollipop 5.1.1, Nexus 6, stock rom.
