Hi,
Can anyone point me on a right track to find solution to this tread???
I would like to replace stock xperia arc dialer/contacts app with native gingerbread as nexus or cm7 rom has. Plus i'm looking for solution to replace incoming call app on my arc because i'm using density=200 and it doesn't look nice...
Thanks in advance
Bump bump bump
Xperia have dialer from SonyEricsson. Original Android dialer looks like in screenshot. You must take it from some original rom cm7 or stock Motorola.
Try to install this.

is this really-really works? I'm a bit afraid to try because I don't wanna get Force Close.

Then backup your phone.apk to sdcard, and push my *.apk to system/app, set permissions & reboot.
You'll see if it works.

I've tried to do like you said but with another apk. and when it's not working, the Force Close (com.android.phone) never stop showed.

Yes it works,i have test it. But dosnt look good on mini, dont try. U have to delete the conversation.apk and then install the stock sms.apk.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
how can i do that? i tried:
deletet /system/app/Conversations.apk
copy your conversations.apk to /system
change permission to 644
moved it to /system/app
then it said: application not installed
ps: installing with adb was successful
kk could i also get the default contacts, calculator, camera apps?

so wat happened this working? want this to work for my motorola cliq(mb200) how can this be able to work? i really want bubbles in my stock android messaging app running modded cyanogen mod rom.
Did it work?
I tried to push the miui mms.apk on to z's beta4 and i got it on/in system/apps and change the permissions to rw-r-r- but the app itself FC's.
I was wondering if what i am trying to do is even possible, and if it is, can someone help me through it?! I love the miui messaging app and it would be amazing on z's beta4
You can always try install it, or maybe try asking the devs.
i have it installed (via root explorer) it just force closes when i try to open it.
and i put it in the Q&A to ask
i don't think its important enough to ask the devs directly though
So that means is not compatible with beta 4.

Plenty in the market to choose from:https://market.android.com/details?...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5oYW5kY2VudC5uZXh0c21zIl0.
I got tired of seeing the white and grey keyboard and didnt wanna use the Gingerbread keyboard cause of the small buttons. So I themed the stock one a little bit. Thought I would share it with the community.
Using root explorer, copy to /system/app. Change permissions to rw-r-r, reboot to xrecovery, clear cache and dalvik cache, Reboot, Enjoy
[EDIT]
added odexed version - not a flashable zip. Use same method from above
oh nice! saves me doing it i was just about to start doing my own one lol!
Something i didn't know how much i need it! thank you man
I followed your instructions but it keeps force-closing every second.
I'm on MiniCM, anyone experiencing this?
Change the name of it to the name of your keyboard before you move it and it will over write.
(NOTE)
Not all roms have the same name for the keyboard

try deleting LatinIME.odex
Edit: don't have to rename the textinput-tng to the existing keyboard since the package name is different anyway... (?)
Oh he is using an odexed rom. I dont why I didnt think of that. Ok I will odex this apk and post it as well for anyone using odexed ROMs.
Dude
To work perfectly this keyboard, need some lib and usr files

Well most phones already have the stock Eclair keyboard or GIngerbread keyboard. My rom is Gingerbread 2.3.7. So I know this will work if anyone already has either keyboard in their ROM. Ive swapped around to all three keyboards. All worked. and I know the icons are hdpi. They look a lot better on my phone then mdpi. And they get resized by android anyways. I left the characters bigger so they can be seen better. Only notice two characters that hang over a litte bit. Neither causes any issues though. BUT, I guess I could change the icons to mdpi and resize the characters if anyone wants it done.
Thanks for the feedback

Can you make some glasses? I mean transparent 75% maybe.
I will definitely try. I been thinking about a transparent one for a few days now. Cant find icons for it. So I will have to make or convert some. Might take me a day or so but I will get it done
Ive installed this keyboard. But the black theme only works in portrait. Why is it? Thanks.

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for an app for my rom mg1 4.1.2. I really love the AOSP mms, but the only one I found here does not work fully, can not send pictures, for example. application stops suddenly.
I thank you all in advance. thank you very much.
anyone?
anything anything
You can try extracting from Project AOSP 1.5 ?
This one is based on MG1..
I tried ... but I think I know why it does not work ... I'm phablet fashion ... can be that it's coming from ..
Try this one, it works for me, but I haven't tried mms though:
http://to.padlad.com/aospmms
I try it right away. thank you to you friend
EDIT :I installed but ... the apk closes as soon as I try a mms
You have to extract it and copy the apk to system/app and change permissions, make sure there is no other messaging app in there when you do.
I extract it I install the apk, it tells me that it's going to replace the current mms apk.
Just rename the one already there to mms.apk.bak so you can go back to it if needed. Then paste in the one you downloaded, change permissions and reboot.
I tried too, but .... it does not work

I don't know what to suggest, like I say, it works great for me.
you said that you have not tried it with the mms ... sms works very well, but not mms
My apologies, I thought you meant the app itself would not work.
that mms .. the application stops for mms

There you go.
I made a flashable zip for aosp messaging app and the script takes care of setting permission.
