what's the most well supported rom out there? i thought cm7 but whoever is trying to port it to thunderbolt isn't finished yet, so there goes "well supported" part of it... i just thought it'd had more developers to get that process going faster, i see they have a lot of phones but looks according to them thunderbolt isn't a popular phone then ...
i dont get it
we have droidtheory, chingy, team bamf, cm7, and several smaller ones? It's the most dev'd for lte phone right now.
what more do you want?
Check out my sig. Synergy puts out a new nightly every night or two. It's very stable and we are the only ROM with Ziggys acclaimed kernel.
Come check us out.

Ziggy's acclaimed, and self-admittedly illegal as hell, kernel. Sorry... I just have a rub with the way he deals with his work. It hurts us all.

Of course that's my first choice...but cm7 is definitely my second favorite rom
Cm7 had a few bumps along the way but sticking it out has definitely been worth it. Everything runs better than perfect. Great wifi, gps that locks in under 10secs, super smooth and super fast. Not to mention an amazing amount of customizability.
Oh and lets not forget the amazing kernel drowning has made for cm7.

As far as I know this the only kernel that's current with cm7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970543
You flash it just like a rom; wipe cache/dalvik from recovery and flash the zip. And of you ever want the stock kernel back you just wipe cache/dalvik and re-flash cm7. You wont lose any data/settings.

Thank you very much! Just flashed it. It's so nice to be back to loving my phone again
I'm a big fan of Liberated 2.2.2, I think I was using it the first day I had my phone. Everything is working perfect and with moderate use I can squeeze 2 days out of the battery. I live in a little bit of a valley so at home I put the phone on Edge and use wifi if I want to go online. Haven't tried CM7 in a few months so I probably will again at some point, just being lazy. CM7 or CM8 w/sense 3.0? When that gets released I'll be all over it!
Ditto-ed on CM7, did it for a friend, and all his friends on the later models (stock roms wildfire s and like) are still wowing XD

Im gonna have to say eternity rom by virus with tiamat sense kernel. It by far the smoothest rom out, ive tried them all including myn. Eternity is odex so it is much smoother than deodex roms.

How's the battery life on both of these ROMs?
myn's wins hands down....
although i got great battery on decks (until it totally crashed and wouldnt boot out of random and always rebooted and stuff for me)
and synergy had great performance (too far into beta though. looks and feels very unfinished and buggy)
I gotta give it to Eternity.
I've used ViperROM 1.3. Synergy from r100 to 502. Myn Warm 2.3, steelH, and SHOGUN.
I give it to Eternity without question.
Haha decks takes the W come on you want most stable and battery life i use my phone all the time and still get 20 plus hours on decks.

just for the record, decks was the most unstable rom i have run to date. random reboots, com.android.acore fc's, and at the end, a random reboot that turned into a softbrick....

Never really liked Warm All that much. Always seemed like it couldn't make up its mind in earlier versions. I will give it another try if a stable version comes out from whatever phone I am using at that time though.
CM9 is an amazing ROM on the Galaxy Nexus and I was quite fond of a couple earlier Cyanogen versions so when that hits my phone I will get it right away.
I've given up on cm9 for now. I know its hard work but every aosp ICS ROM I've tried has horrible battery life and lots of bugs. I'm definitely excited for whatever myn cooks up next though, I've used his warm roms since the OG evo and they have been amazing. My favorite dev well along with mikey and chad

That's something they'll work on. If you've used AOSP in the past you'll know that you can get some pretty solid battery life. Sadly it seems like ICS is more of a power hog than GB. Which is okay with me, considering how much better it is in every other category.
Warm ICS with the quickness.
My UPS driver at work wants me to root his phone. SO he's bringing it into the office today and dropping it off for a while and I'm going to root and s-off and load a rom on there for him. Now I'm an experienced android user, but I don't have the time to read all the thread in the dev section and hand pick a rom out for him--work is too busy. What is the most stable/battery efficient rom/kernel combination that I can toss on there that won't leave me being tech support for this guy? Thanks for the help.
forgot how early it was
