Anyone know why? It's annoying to constantly have to delete/add upon boot.
Anyone??? This is really annoying.
There's not a single person on this forum who uses the picture frame widget??? Jesus Christ!
I have the same problem, couldn't find the solution anywhere, and theres none in the market that's like the built in one

Thanks for responding. At least I know that I'm not the only one!
It's fixed with KH1! Also, they enlarged the picture widget to widescreen.
Same issue on kg6

Yes it is quite annoying, it happens to me as well, I'm on KG6.
Like I said above, it's fixed on KH1. If you're not crack flashers, wait until KH1 is released on Kies.
Yes, I did see you mentioned that. Just trying to provide another data point to discover the cause. I'd have updated already if Litening rom was ready But yea, seems its been broken on every build I've tried up to this newest kh1 (as I've been told at least).

hopefully somebody can shed some light on something for me. I had just started fresh, sd card and all. I flashed PWGB v2.0b3 with pit. I was in the process of reinstalling my apps all fresh from market, sdcard was wiped so no titanium restores. I noticed the alert sound like i had received a email and noticed a file was downloading itself with the name of qqsecure2.2.0(something something) with alot of chinese characters. The icon beside the file being downloaded looked similar to a sun if i remember right. I have a list of the apps i was restoring but have no idea how far down the list i was at. Again all apps were from the market. I know some malware apps exist but i was under the impression you had to go out of your way to catch one. If i were a betting man i would say that this was innocent and normal but it kinda freaked me out as the phone is rooted and i do banking on it occasionally.
Simple searches didn't yield any results for me on xda and nothing in english on google. Anyone have any idea if this was known and good or is my immediate shutting down and reflashing warrented?
Though it does sound weird. To be safe, try to re-flash it or just go to MIUI. I know and have talked to a English dev from that team. And they have a background service that prevents anything from accessing the data partition

id love to go with miui or cm but im afraid that i need absolute stablilty and fear such roms cant offer it at this time. by no means am i knocking those roms but i cant have any surprises at all so i shy away from those roms. the whole reason i was starting back fresh was occasional hipups with the TKSGB kern on my particular device.
After having it happen again I happened to be paying more attention and noticed that a app was to blame. Greek mythology is the offender. I installed lookout before redownloading and for what its worth it let the app pass right through. I'm pretty certain thats the app responsible and its still on the market. Just surprised because I hadn't heard of any trojans on the us market.

Hi was wondering if anyone has similar problems to me with the GPS not getting a fix. Most of the time it functions fine with Google navigation but there are times like tonight when it cannot get a fix. I downloaded the GPS status app from the market which showed only a couple of satellites where visable and it would lock on to any of them. I then went in to the tools part of the app and reset something called a-gps data (whatever that is?) Then I clicked the download link and it received some data. After that the GPS got an instant lock and has been fine since.
I just wondered if anyone else experiences these problems and if so how do you fix it. My nexus s never had a problem getting a fix I'm just curious as to why I'm having problems with this handset
Edit to say I updated to the latest maps yesterday so I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I have been experiencing some delay in google maps, but i think that is because i am traveling right now, and i don't have Internet access every where. But you should have clear view to the sky has well

this thread.
helped a lot of us out. agps is assisted gps iirc. instead of doing calculations itself, your phone downloads data instead (i think).
Thanks ill have a look at that thread. Seems to be working well for the time being but for how long I'm not sure

makes a world of difference. get a lock within 5 secs normally as opposed to upto 5 minutes!
just remember, if you flash a new rom, the conf file gets replaced. i was convinced that the rom i was on was causing poor gps until i replaced it with a backup off my sd card
So does this require root tommo? I haven't had chance to go through the whole thread yet as I'm not at my computer. I'm not rooted so would have to go through that procedure too
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
yeah, you need an app like root explorer to get access to the "etc" folder where the gps.conf file is.
very easy to do mind.
Thanks buddy ill give it a try once I get home

The widget itself is fine but every single time I try to add a company to the widget the widget then force closes. I am currently using warm 2.3 but I have also had this issue with a couple other roms as well. All this occurs on fresh installs. I really like htc's stock widget, so does anyone know of a fix or another type of widget that's very similar to the htc one?

I'm sure there are other stock widgets to use. I personally don't use any but I'm sure others can post up their experience.
Regarding the FC: whenever you experience a FC, the real detailed information is printed into a log on the device. The log is called "logcat". A developer is able to read the FC information in the "logcat" and then able to troubleshoot the issue.
aLogcat is a great free application on the android market which helps grab this log off the device and makes it easy to share with developers.
If you wanted to report the but for Warm 2.3, I'd post the specific FC information from the Logcat in their thread and mention it always happens which should make it easy for them to reproduce and begin to troubleshoot.
Also, they might track issues on their google code page. Depends on the ROM.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply, its not specific to warm 2.3 thats why I didn't post it there. I guess I can use alogcat and forward that information to the powers that be.
Hi I've been unable to find anything on google or another thread about this issue or even anything similar with other phones.
I got my xperia s yesterday and i love it (Altho i miss ICS, but thats for another thread) but i've got a software problem with gmail app which if i cant fix will result in me sending the phone back.
Here's a video i recorded, as its easier to watch than explain
[edit] of course , new user cant post youtube vid, the gmail flickers real bad, likes its trying to open. to the point were its un-usable. the video is stil easier to see the problem so "youtu.be/cKRchUVNyvE"
During at no point did i exit the app. even if it looks like that from the video.
What i've try to fix this.
1. Clear app data
2. Clear app cache
3. Restarted phone.
Theres no updates for either gmail app or the phone.
and if it helps on T-mobile UK
So i'm at a loss. Any suggestions?
I have exactly the same problem. Not solution yet. It's really annoying.
Apparently Gmail is having problems, there's a workaround posted on lifehacker.
Thanks riggsuk
Thats interesting i had assumed it was the phone as my desire ICS (old phone) was fine and none of my m8's with android phones has reported any problems.
It's a general gmail bug. Seems not to affect everyone. I have it on my xps and desire. Friends xps is fine, so is my girlfriends desire hd.
Google is aware of the issue. Should be fixed soon.

Don't have the issue...
Surprised nobody has posted anything on this but here's my issue, every time I try to log on to the desktop version (yes I have the setting checked for this) it throws in the "m" for mobile.....I have tried other browsers after the stock one was doing this, they all seem to do it so I'm assuming it's the phone itself. Can anyone else test this.
I use the ics browser+ when I want to view facebook or any other site in desk top works great
