[Q] AT&T Medianet Plan APN Settings? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone post the AT&T Medianet settings?
I flashed my phone and the APN is gone and data will not work.
Thanks.

ty, it works

Just wondering, is there another setting other than that? It does work but I'm getting ~2-4mbps, but before I flashed from KG3 to KG5, I was getting up to 7mpbs. I'm in the same area as I was before, and also tested during the same time of day.

Try flashing an older modem ... the one with which you were getting high speeds.

Thanks for the settings. I got my SGS2 GoPhone data working again (I just moved from CM7 to CheckRom).

[Q] Frustratingly Slow Data Issue

Hello, I was hoping if I could get some help on slow data speed issue. I'm currently in Baltimore, Maryland area on AT&T unlimited LTE plan using "pta" APN setting. I see people reporting averaging around 5~8mbps on hspa+ but I'm not able to go above 2mbps. Most of the time it's 1~1.5mbps and it's so frustrating.
I'm pretty sure I have the right settings, but I'm not sure why I get such a crappy data speed? Any ideas? Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I haven't tried that yet and there were so many of them I wasn't sure which to choose :/ switching modem is the only option I have to increase data speed?

You CAN try switching modems.. but the most reliable thing you should do is to contact your service op for this

It depends, have you rooted?
I would do as above suggested by contacting you service provider.
However modem switch is quite easy. Not sure exactly what modem would work best in your area. But it cannot hurt to try and if it does not work out switch back...

Haven't rooted yet but I guess I'll give it a go.
I remember there was a thread with all the S3 modem listed... Now I can't seem to find it, anyone know?

I have pre-rooted and deodexed rom found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935570) installed on my UK (bought from t-mobile) S3 LTE and tethering works a treat.
Ive got quite abit of different mods on mine practically like a new rom and tether also works great obviosly if we have that option then it should work and if it doesnt its either a software bug , network, or faulty phon. Or even the other device thats connecting to it.

Contact your service provider | by calling 150, and perhaps option 4 for technical support, as EE may have this option disabled for you by default, I have yet to check if mine works because i just ordered this as an upgrade (Everythings Unlimited!) for only £41 a month LOL
i am tethering right now and i am shocked as it is very fast even tho i am near the ocean and bushland./Lake but i am on 3G , as there is no 4g coverage out here yet. You would spin out if you knew where i was . Its 12am I am in front of a MASSIVE lake in a tent near the bush and just to see if i could, i hooked up my mini netbook up to my i9305 and all i can say is AWESOME i have now been on a stable connection for 1 hr. who needs a hardwire connection when you have a S3
Hehe i better get off now and get back to the nature haha. cya

4G is not possible in the S3 unless you buy the LTE version.
Make sure you have a plan for 3G and in settings, the network mode is auto.
Also a place where you can get 3G connections.

APN issues on Official JB ROM.

First off, I'm on the telus network. I flashed the ROM last night and have not had service since. I have tryed to either my APN settings to the telus settings but still no service. So I tryed to flash the latest modem and still no service. Any ideas?

You need to clarify what you mean by "no service". Is it data or phone or both?

After editing your apn settings, you are pressing menu, then save? Then select the circle box next to the apn name? Correct?
That should do it.

APNs will only effect your data. If you can't make a call editing APNs won't do anything for you.

I'd start all over to rule everything out.
Flash in Odin and factory reset. See if you get a signal. If not flash a different radio and see if that gives you a signal. You need to be able to get a signal and get voice then worry about data and the apn settings.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Well it's not a TMobile like issue then. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Maybe there some kind of hidden provisioning somewhere that's not letting you connect to the network.

You have so many threads going it is hard to follow what you have done and what you haven't. Things I suggest to Try:
Reflash just the modem
Use the newer version of Odin
Format USB storage before flashing ROM
And if all else fails then flash this and try the JB ROM afterwards: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657279
