How are you wiping from recovery if you're saying you can't get into recovery?
Also, doesn't sound like you have tenfars recovery if you're getting the exclamation sign which sounds like the stock recovery instead.
whats the reason for the reset? if anything you can just reflash the rom if somethings messed up or download another one. there are also 2.3.4, 4.5.9.1 OTA roms for unlocked bl's. just look around in here and you fill find it.
Boot into fastboot and fastboot -w to wipe.
when I reflash the rom all my previous info still there so I can't add my google account cause it's already there. the problem that motoblur it's also there but not showing, also it enters tenfars and after the exclamation I can only see some chinese letters. I'll try with fastboot

Should always wipe when flashing a ROM.
Wipe Dalvik, cache, and factory reset/data, or fastboot -w, prior to flashing. Many people also repeat after flashing.

Some of the ROM's perform a wipe for you during the flash process. You could always try flashing one of those also. Just wipe Dalvik and cache before flashing.

Hello there,
I've been using my Atrix (unlocked bootloader, Orange Stock 2.3.4) for over 2 weeks and yesterday, suddenly, the Wifi stopped. I can't activate the Wifi [in other words, it is not a network issue], it simply doesn't enable. When I try to enable the wifi, it takes like 20 secs and after that I recieve a "Error" msg. Just it.
Sometimes, the Atrix reboots while trying to enable the wifi.
Things I did so far:
- Wipe data (factory reset via phone and via android recovery)
- Wipe cache
- Reflashed Orange Stock 2.3.4 ROM
- Flashed another ROM (nCrust).
*edit: - Flashed another ROM (Ninja 0.4)
*edit: - Changed the kernel from INTL-MBR-d00-GB-Kernel-0.1.2-ext4-sv to INTL-MBR-d00-original-kernel
*edit: - Changed the kernel back to INTL-MBR-d00-GB-Kernel-0.1.2-ext4-sv
I've been looking around for problems like mine and a found a couple dead topics with no decisive answer.
Any suggestions? Could be a hardware failure?
I'm just asking because I want to use the warranty as my last resource.
Thanks in advance

Try forgetting the network on your phone and renaming your wifi and connect to it.
Sounds weird, but it worked for me.

You need to do a full wipe and then flash a ROM.

Thanks for the answer!
Full wipe? How can that be done? What's the difference between "Wipe data/factory reset" from the Android Recovery and the full wipe?
Thanks again
Mine did this before the bootloader was unlocked.. is your bluetooth working? I did a few sbf attempts and ended up rma ing mine

Yeah, my Bluetooth is working.
I'm trying to change the kernel.
I got this problem after i restored my nandroid backup with other kernel than the present one.
Anyway , i just did full wipe and installed the rom again, now everything is ok.

What kernel are u using? How did you do a full wipe? I read all the "[Updated 8-2-2011] THE BEGINNERS (N00B) GUIDE!!! N00BS LOOK HERE FOR YOUR HOW TOs" topic without finding how a full wipe can be done
Faux123 OC 1.1GHZ kernel.
Get into recovery and flash cache, dalvik-cache and factory\data wipe.
Its written in that guide under ROMs & Kernels section:
3) Boot into CWM Recovery
4) Wipe Dalvik Cache (under advanced in CWM)
5) Wipe Cache Partition
6) Wipe data/factory reset

I did exactly as you say and nothing changed.
This is what I did after:
fastboot -w (to wipe again)
moto-fastboot flash system ORFR234-system.img (Orange stock 2.3.4)
moto-fastboot flash boot ORFR234-tegrapart-d00100.boot.img
fastboot reboot
After the reboot, I installed the kernel "INTL-MBR-d00-GB-Kernel-0.1.2-ext4-sv" again, from the Android Recovery menu.
And still nothing... No wifi + auto-reboots ;/
Wait, the MBR-d00 is " [<{ Tegrapart=d00 Compatible with ATT U4_5.9.1 ROM}>] ", for ATT, not for Orange system.
Don't you need to install the other kernel ?
This one: "[<{ Tegrapart=1100 Compatible with Orange 4_5.2.1A ROM}>] " ???
Just flash the original kernel to see if the Wifi is working ok.
Sorry if i wrong or missing something, i got AT&T Atrix device, im not an international user.
When I type (su) cat /proc/cmdline I get this result "tegrapart=mbr:d00:100:800,kpanic:2100:400:800 ...", that's why I need a kernel d00 compatible, I think.
And thanks again for helping me out, Ofek
OK you doing fine.
After you fastboot flash the system and the boot img files, and reboots, is the WIFI working without the error? and no auto-reboots?
Nope ;/
Wifi still not working. I still can't activate it
Did you try to update the radio?
I don't think so... I'll look into it

wipe data/factory reset only clears user data. to do a full wipe you need to do that, clear the cache, and wipe system but then you need to have a unlocked BL so you can flash a rom image right away.
I think I got the answer... It's the kernel, I believe.
When I use a terminal emulator on my device and use the command #modprobe -v /system/lib/dhd.ko it says that it couldn't load the file.
Still looking into it.
Changed to mbr_d00 GB Kernel Version 0.1.3 and still no wifi.
Trying the mbr_d00 original Kernel Version
No success so far ;/
This sounds to me like a radio problem. Just my two cents, I would look for the answer in flashing the stock radio.

Hi,
I just bought an AT&T SGS2. I began by rooting it, flashing cwm and trying to flash MIUI. But the phone would not boot up. So I downloaded ODIN one click back to stock and flashed that, but the phone still does not boot past the AT&T screen. I've tried flashing different roms from cwm none of which boot up.
Please point me in the right direction to get the phone to boot.
Thanks
Can you get into cwm? Id bet you didn't wipe before you flashed

+1 this.
boot into cwm>factory wipe data/factory>delete cache partition>delete dalvik cache> install zip from sdcard>pick your ROM...
Thanks guys wiping the all the caches did the trick. I didn't know it was a requirement for this phone. I came from a Captivate where is wasn't required to wipe everything.

He doesn't have CWM if he used the one-click back to stock, unless it failed and didn't flash a kernel. Stock kernel has 3e recovery.

Even on the Captivate, you had to wipe whenever flashing a new ROM. Returning to stock is, effectively, flashing a new ROM (the stock one).
So I unlocked my phone using pudding to flash the 2.3.5 rom. Then I decided to rdslight back to stock(photon SUN-198_7). I don't know if I needed to flash stock recovery smg but I've tried that but my photon still won't boot past the boot screen. Any other methods?

Try wiping before flashing.
When wiping, make sure you wipe all the cache, davlik cache, and then do a factory reset. After doing all that, then flash the rom.
If that does not work, had you done a nandroid backup before flashing a rom? If so, try reverting to that.
The problem is that when I rds to sbf file photon SUN-198_7 its stuck in a bootloop.

The 2.3.5. Removes recovery. Install boot strap recovery, and use it to flash zip version of romracer cwm.

Are you seeing any messages on the screen when the phone boot loops? Can you RSD and fastboot? Are you getting any failed to boot messages?
I fixed it. Did a fastboot -w to wipe and then proceeded with unlock sbf. Thanks for the input tho.

I think I have messed up, I just flashed to the Cyanogen 7.2 Rom, it flashed ok and the phone works. But so far I have a few problems, I am not unable to answer calls. When it rings, I need to unlock the phone, manually go into the phone app in order to do so.
I am also missing the notification bar.... I can't see it anywhere.
Another problem is I can no longer access the phone when connected to the computer as it does not have the option to allow me to use as usb mass storage any more. When it is plugged in pc will pick it up but the drive is greyed out.
Please help.
Regards
just do a factory reset (in the first menu), than flash again and don't forget to wipe cache partitation and dalvik cache, fix permissions aswell to be sure. If that does not work you can go with the QDL-tool. It almost impossible to completely brick your phone due to software, as only the -w command in fastboot could do that but it would not even boot in that situation...

Which of the first menu are you refering to? I am confused....
I have now entered recovery and just done a factory reset, let see what happens
1) Go into StreakMod and do a factory reset.
2) Go into the main recovery menu and do a factory reset.

I did that by going into recovery then I did a factory reset, after that it will just loop at the boot up screen. I had to take the battery out as it was hung for like 20mins. Now it's bricked and it won't even boot back up....
:crying:
Both should not brick anything. Try to enter the recovery again and do the factory reset (the first one now), and flash again. If it does not work get a fresh install by doing the QDL-tool all the information is on the forum.

in this case you dont need to use qdl tool... just streakmod recovery...
install either dsc 1.0 or longhorn 2.7 and see if it helps... everything should work fine with those two rom...
once it works... install kernel test 3... but be sure to install the correct kernel.... dsc, its own kernel... longhorn, cm7 kernel... and then fastboot 366 baseband for better voice, mic and telco cell reception quality
I did everything I was supposed to do, first succesfully rooted the phone. Then I put the zip file with the rom into the sd card and then went into recovery mode, installed file from zip and it said success in install so I chose to reobot and now it hangs there... Any one can help me out? I'm scared...

A bit more details. What phone model? What were you trying to flash? Where does it hang, on the Samsung boot animation, or in the recovery?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Galaxy s2 international (gt 19100). It hangs on the boot logo, which now is a yin yang with ics on it, I guess this is a NEAT thing. I can go into recovery mode, it just hangs if I try to boot normally.

The yin yang boot logo is actually the kernel. (Siyah)
You should probably try a factory reset/wipe data from recovery. This will alleviate 90% of boot loops and stuck on boot issues.
How do I do that?

You just said above you can boot to recovery... Once you are in recovery mode, can you not follow the recovery menu system to find the wipe data/factory reset option? It should be pretty straightforward.
I'm not running Siyah, so I don't know what the exact menu item is called in the recovery image that is in that kernel.
I tried that but it still does the same thing... any other tips?

Ok. Are you SURE you're doing a wipe data/factory reset when in recovery? If so, then I'd flash a stock firmware, full wipe again, then try the Neat ROM install again.

Find all you need to know here.
As an easy rule before installing any new ROM (that isn't an upgrade from a previous version ex. Cm10 builds or if otherwise stated ) wipe data , cache and dalvik cache , which is under advanced
