Hello everyone. The other day i used revolutionary to Perma-root my evo 3d. Everything was fine, till my text messages were not sending. So i took out the battery and popped it back in, and all i got was the HTC logo, then a dimmed black screen. Yes i can get into hboot, but i have clockworkmod recovery. I seem to be having a difficult time flashing the official sprint evo 3d rom. Any help is appreciated.
Download the pg86100.zip to revert back to stock in the dev section then go into hboot and let it update and you will start back at the stock ROM

try hboot flashing twrp recovery. then if you can boot up update your prl and profile, also make a phone call to see if you got that error 16 thing. Also, did you by chance try to replace your bootanim? If you did, and something like wrong permissions were set, it would still be booting with a black screen, maybe try leaving it alone while it's booting for a bit?
I did the twrp recovery, but i still get the dim black screen. after the dim black screen it goes black for a few seconds, then goes to the HTC logo again. I didnt try to change anything either...

Above is your best solution. From there you can decide to either root again or wait a bit longer. But that should fix the issue and keep you from a boot loop of just the HTC screen.
Well thats where you are wrong. I am still in the boot loop after doing the stock HTC EVO 3d flash.
So the bootloader scanned and flashed the PG86IMG file and you are still showing just the HTC screen?
Did you follow the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194053
Hi where exactly do the adb and fastboot files go when you start to run commands?
Well no i still get the boot loop. guess i have a bricked phone...

A brick is when the phone is completely unresponsive and won't boot or give you a charging led. If you can get to hboot you're not bricked. I would do a factory wipe from hboot menu (choose clear storage), and then either run an RUU with your phone in fastboot usb mode, or use a PG86IMG.zip
of an RUU to flash back to stock. That should hopefully fix the loops.

From past experiences like this, wipe, flash the bare stock rooted ROM in the development section. Do this in recovery mode. Before wiping you could try just flashing the bare Rom over. That usually worked for me.

Sweet, glad you got it booting. Now that you've ran the RUU, you'll probably need to run Revolutionary again and then flash TWRP recovery. You should be good to go then. I think your hboot will still be S-off after the RUU, but from reports of other people it acts like it's still S-on and won't let you flash anything, so running Revolutionary again is necessary.
Well i cant use revolutionary...
My device is not supported?
And now i cant make calls or text messages, i get error 16.
any help?

Call Sprint. . they can fix it. . .it's actually a common problem after the root. Try to make a call. . .you will get the error message. . .you should hang on the line for a few minutes and it will direct you to sprint. They will call you on another line. . that's not your phone, and have you power the phone off. . .they will wait a few minutes then tell you to turn it on and make a test call. . .they may have you go thru a few things, but I didn't. . .and it will work.

Help!
I feel like such a freakin noob. My EVO3D is not quite bricked but I think i broke my recovery img AND my ROM. All I can do is turn on Hboot. Tried the stock Sprint RUU to go back to stock and i keep getting an error message everytime it tries to update the ROM image. Have no idea what to do now without being able to go into recovery. Suggestions?
My phone is doing the exact same thing, cept running the ruu.exe didn't fix it. Anyone else have some more ideas?

If your recovery is damaged/non-existent and you get stuck on the HTC screen instead (IOW, recovery never loads) and the ROM is bootlooping then try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179386
It should get you a working recovery back on your phone so that you can either then wipe data/cache for the ROM or flash something else.

Someone please explain to me what to do. Should I start shopping for a new phone? I can't boot into recovery mode because it just goes back to HBOOT. I've tried a factory reset and it goes right back into HBOOT. I'm not quite sure what I've done...I was attempting S-OFF which didn't work and my phone worked fine until I unplugged it from my computer. The only thing I did differently was "simlock" which said it failed then it got stuck in HBOOT. Im so mad at myself. Please tell me there's a way to fix this. HBOOT - 1.22.0000 Radio - 1.11.00.0831 S-ON
Im a newb so bear with me please.
You have no option to boot into any sort of recovery? It sounds like your os is corrupted and you may need to get into recovery to boot a working rom.
Which phone is it? Most likely ann RUU for your device.

It's an HTC Hero-S for us cellular.
Could I use an RUU for an Evo 3d? I can not find one for a hero s anywhere.
EDIT: I meant the HTC Evo Design 4g
EDIT2: I have been up all night trying different Evo design 4g RUUs and each one of them tells me I can't use it for my device.

Hmm..How would one go about getting into recovery?
I managed to get s-off, but my phone would not boot. I was stuck on a screen that said "JuopunutBear" with an arrow. I did the internal storage fix, now the phone is really screwed. I'm stuck on a white screen with "HTC". I can't boot to recovery and the PC won't recognize phone so ADB commands don't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Get one of the old GB RUU's and run it on your phone. Start again. If your phone was truly bricked, it wouldn't power on and you wouldn't get an LED light when it was plugged in.

This is an easy one, or would have been when you were on the black screen. Well the internal storage fix scares me, but hopefully that wont matter. Typically all you need to do is get the PH file from your rom and place on sd card, boot into hboot, and run the update I believe, then reboot.
This title needs to be edited as it's misleading.

Relax. The S-off process blows out your recovery. You didn't brick your phone.
Put a recovery image on your SD card, go into hboot (from a powered down state, power button and volume down) and let 'er reload recovery. If you can't get the file on your SD card through your phone, pop the SD card into a card reader attached to your PC and stick it on there that way.
Once that's done, remove the image file from your SD card, put your fav ROM on it, and install it from recovery.
You may need to fix your SD card's mount points. Within the thread on S-off, there's a link to the process.
None of the commands work because the phone is not recognized. I cannot boot to hboot. Uh oh.
I had the same screen. Pull the battery and reboot into hboot, volume down+power and run the s-off program again. Something didn't finish and it will pick up where it left off in my experience.

What happens when you press power+volume down?
Edit: Also, if you're phone turns on, you're not bricked. It's pretty hard to brick this phone.

As I understand it, the only way to brick a phone is to bork a radio installation.
Dude...pull your battery, put it back in, then power and volume down at the same time. If you can get to hboot, life is good.

Constant reboots
I am able to install roms, but I get constant reboots, every few minutes at best. I tried a few different ICS ROMS. I am running the latest firmware. I BELIEVE with s-off I shouldn't have to flash PH98IMG.zip. I tried fixing permissions also but it has not helped.
How did you get the latest firmware and radios without running the PH98IMG.zip? The ics roms you are installing won't update your firmware.

Well the newest leak came out 5/7 and the one before that 5/2 so only a week ago. I would download the newest from Android Police and follow the instructions they give to install, then flash a recovery and install a rooted Rom for this firmware like Scott's.

I don't know why you relocked...I think there's a thread about not so good things happening to those who relock after S-off. I downloaded and installed the 5/5 leak as PH98IMG after I S-off'd and reflashed the recovery.
I'm pretty sure my hboot said "locked" straight out of the gate after I did the S-off deed.

Nothing bad happens, you just don't ever get back to "locked" without doing S-off again. You're just at "relocked" like the old days. S-on with an eng hboot on the other hand will brick your device.
That aside, there's no need to unlock if you're S-off. Either flash a patched hboot or just flash a PH98IMG.zip of AmonRa if you don't need fastboot commands (I did the latter).
I flashed the last firmware before S-off. I followed the instructions given. I flashed the latest firmware today and this damn thing still reboots constantly. I flashed the 5-7 firmware then the Venasaur Rom.

You need to try installing the radio firmware or just install the complete RUU again. And install a clean copy of the rom, not a nandroid backup. Wipe data, cache, dalvic cache, and system before flashing the rom.
Send me a private message if you would like and I'll help you get it figured out on gtalk.
So i rooted my device just yesterday. After i rooted it I DL'd an app to change my font. I changed the font a few times to see what font I wanted to use. Every time you change the font it asks for a system reset (which i did). After that last reset the phone wouldn't boot back up past the white screen where it says "HTC quietly brilliant" then it has beats audio listed at the bottom. I've been reading around, but i can't find anything to help me. I tried to go into bootloader, but it says the files couldn't be found. So i am able to enert HBoot which i've heard is a +. Thanks for the help! I can't do a recovery, nor can i do a factory reset.
