hello i have a problem with my dell streak 5 ... that three buttons (out of the screen) doesnt work. i dont know what is the problem and i need our help, because is my daily use phone. thanks.
this phone is froyo version (2.2.2)

I think you should boot into recovery,and recalibrate screen,until it says "successfull" ....i know the buttons arent on the screen,but it got mine working one time......also theres a good app called "button savior" I think you have to be rooted thought.....but it puts the 3 hard buttons on your screen that you activate small button.....it does the same thing the hard buttons do
That way,you never need the 3 buttons on side of phone again

You installed the button savior app......it does what the outer 3buttons do.....just puts them on the touch screen

Hi,
since today morning when i pulled my x10 off the charger
the home key is out of function. and my lockscreen is away too. i checked the settings, changed lockscreen visual, but cant get it back. when screen is off i can take my dosplay back to life with the power button and my homekey, so the key is still working....

Maybe the problem is a recently installed app that causes it.
After updating & using for months I slowly noticed that one of my button led (whilte led's beside the middle button) are not lit properly. this worries me like hell. i still got warrenty but i dd not go for the shop yet . all i want to know is could this be a hardware fault or software fault?
Can just a simple factory reset solve this problem?
all the other functions work correctly without any problem, superbly.
plz help

i got xperia x10i (The large)
and i got problem with his buttons, the front buttons (back,home,options) sometimes do not work but if i do reboot they working
My device is not plunged into the water or something like
It just happened to me just like that....
If you ask, I think it's not about the software because I tried different kinds of roms and Kernels

I suggest you send your phone to repair.. Cuz it looks like the button had a problem..

Have you tried flashing the ROM a second time, after a full wipe (if possible)? Sometimes these things just have the tiniest little glitches and nobody can figure out why they happen, yet a second flash miraculously fixes/solves whatever happened the first time out.
I've yet to see anyone mention any issues with the buttons - they're still considering "soft" buttons, however. As soon as I saw "hard keys" my thought was problems with the power/sleep, volume, or the camera button and not the capacitive touch ones under the display.
Just so you know...
Also, I note you say they're not lighting up - the real question then becomes are they still functional even though they're not lighting up?
Yes the soft buttons are functioning...but not lighting up....but few hours ago it was fine....but now it's not lighting up....maybe some setting issue....anybody know how to solve this in setting's mode?

Try dimming your brightness in display a little......
