[Q] Gingerlol failing on me - Optimus One, P500, V General

When When I flash Gingerlol I get a black screen and a error saying my setings have forced closed. I did wiped data, cache and dalvic cache before flashing..... Is there a add on or something else I was meant to flash?

That's an optimus p500 rom, the v is 670, they are different phones, the roms don't work with each other

[Q] radio issue or something else?

Okay I recently rooted my TB and flashed bamf 3.0 RV4.9 ran perfect with no issues.... I later tried to change and font and after rebooting it would not load past the splash screen so I went unto hboot and reflashed bamf ROM. It than rebooted and loaded up as normal. However now it will not connect to Skype or WiFi. When trying to connect to WiFi it'll say "obtianing up address" and sit there for a minute that disconnect is this a radio issue or US it bc i didn't wipe all the data when I reflashed bamf? Tundra for the help in advanced
Your word correction is not serving you well LOL.
Anyway I would say do a full wipe of data, cache, and dalvik cache in Clockworkmod Recovery and then try to reflash the ROM. For future reference even if you are doing something small like changing fonts ALWAYS make a nandroid backup in Clockworkmod recovery FIRST. Then if you have a similar issue to this one you can do a full wipe and restore your backup without losing anything.

In Clockworkmod recovery, using the volume rocker to move up and down and tapping the power button to select, choose wipe data/factory reset and then select yes. Let it do it's thing and it will come back to the main recovery screen. Now choose wipe cache partition then select yes. Now go down to advanced and select that. In the advanced menu choose wipe dalvik cache and then select yes. After it is done you will still be in the advanced menu so scroll down to go back and select it. Now flash your ROM.
This is how you should always wipe before flashing a new ROM or update unless the ROMs thread specifically says not to. (which probably won't happen.) This only applies to ROMs, and NOT to themes, kernels, or mods.

i whipped up a rom in the android kitchen, and im having this problem as well. ive tried wiping and formatting each and every thing 3x+, and have tried every radio except mr1, and i still cannot get wifi to connect. and the 704 radio causes my phone to freeze. while im sure it has something to do with the actual rom im puttingout, i just thought id throw my experience in here. i cant figure out whats causing it not to connect
If you figure it out shoot me a pm! I'm fixing to deploy overseas so I need my WiFi!

I'm sure someone else can answer this better, but I think "Android is upgrading" is shown when Android is rebuilding the Dalvik cache.
This shouldn't happen if you don't wipe dalvik cache before flashing new stuff.
I'm not sure what the consequences of not wiping dalvik cache are...

Thanks for reply... I didn't wipe it those mods wiped it by itself... But after a factory reset problem will be solved but I don't want to restore everything back again... Thts why I'm not wiping Lol
There sud be another way... Let's see if anyone knows it... After all im on xda

The Android is upgrading message is normal. Just ignore it. It has nothing to do with a factory reset.
If you can find an app that allows you to wipe the dalvik cache then do that. Your phone will rebuild the dalvik cache on reboot and you might find that the upgrading message disappears (it worked for me when I was experiencing this issue a while back).
Andromizer has a dalvik cache wiping facility - you might need root access though.
Thanks for reply guys problem is solved ...

Dalvik cache clearing

Will clearing that cache make my phone faster? I hav 2.3.3 rooted stock rom on x10 and hope that clearing that cache will make my phone faster without screwing it up. Currently not.planning to flash anything.

I don't think so. I did it many times when my phone begun to lag. Clearing dalvik cache didn't help. Only fresh install of a ROM did

Not, because your Rom is laggy by itself. You must add some tweaks and wipe bloatware which comes with Stock Rom, flash better kernel etc... But, if you want more responsive rom, you must find custom Rom that suite your needs.

Applied theme and got stuck on boot screen.

After applying a cm10 theme on Dastin's WILD FOR THE NIGHT ROM and then rebooting i got stuck.... This has also happened to me on other AOSP and Sense ROMs after changing fonts... Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so how do you fix it without having to reflash/wipe? So I can recover unsaved data. I tried wiping dalvik, cache, dalvik+cache, flashing a diff kernel, and even dirty flashing the same rom all in different occasions anything i can attempt next time this happens?

You could try fixing permissions. It's possible one of the system apps got messed up during the DF?
