EVO 4G MIUI Bluetooth on Evo 3D? - HTC EVO 3D

The stock Evo 3d rom has slight crackling/distortion when playing bluetooth audio, as well as with headphones.
The only bluetooth music and headphone playback that's been perfect was on MIUI Evo 4g.
Does anyone know what makes MIUI audio playback work better? Or have an update for the bluetooth to play without static?

If ur also connected to the "headphone" via Bluetooth then it will sound like that, try goin into the Bluetooth settings and only connecting to Bluetooth audio. That worked for me.

I don't have both connected simultaneously. It's crackly with each one.
When using bluetooth audio, i have it streaming to my car stereo. Using my old evo and going back and forth between MIUI and stock roms, the difference is night and day.

I had lousy sound too through the Bluetooth.. When I looked at the settings.. I noticed the SRS enhancement was on.. I turned that off to "no effects" and then it was back to normal sounds on my car stereo.

Is there an app that will let you play music from your phone on your car using a bluetooth connection? Like is there a way to play all phone audio on your car via bluetooth rather than just call audio?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
No app can change this, the thing is your car stereo has to support the A2DP bluetooth profile, if you do not have a "bluetooth audio" option and only "telephone" on your car stereo then it only supports the "headset" profile, for example I have a pioneer bt-8000 car stereo, it supports both a2dp and headset profiles, I set my car stereo to "bt audio" then all audio OTHER than phone audio comes through car stereo, then if a call is initiated inbound or outbound, the car stereo automatically switches to phone, then when disconnected back to bt audio
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I did however forget one way that this could be possible without the A2DP profile, not sure if this exists for our phone, but a hack could be made on the phone that would force all audio through the headset profile on the phone itself, but like I said, I haven't seen this hack for our phones
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
There's an app in the Market called Super Bt Mono Froyo that does exactly that - routes all audio from phone to Bluetooth device using headset profile. The quality pretty much sucks for music though - kinda like if you'd listen to music over GSM phone connection. I personally use it for navigation prompts when riding my motorcycle. If you want decent quality - you need A2DP.

Is anyone else having the audio jack problem

When ever i have headphones hooked in or have it hooked up to my dewalt radio through audio jack the songs skip randomly to new songs. Dose anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
It is because the jack is t-r-r-s style, tip, ring, ring, sleeve, to accommodate the microphone. Standard stereo headphones are t-r-s. For some reason they don't line up exactly. You could try to find a trs female to trrs male adapter or I have seen some people open up their phones to try and fix it. I had the same problem on my Evo 4G.
Thats weird i never had that issue with my old evo and my girfriends not havin it with her 3d either

Duplicate. Sorry
had this problem on the evo 4g. you know you have the problem when you see the headset icon at the top of the screen after plugging in headphones. the fix: download headset blocker from the market. it's a widget that, when turned on, will recognize your headphones as headphones rather than headset. you'll know it's fixed because you will see a headphone icon instead of the headset icon. and notice there will be no more unwanted track skipping. worked on evo 4g and works on evo 3d.

Thanks alot that was the problem. Was using my phone for tunes at my bbq yesterday and this kept happening. Was driving me nuts

How come this didn't happen with my og evo? Very annoying on my 3vo...

It depends on the jack you plug in. Some do it, some don't. Make sure the jack is pushed in completely; it might not be in all the way even if it plays audio perfectly.
The reason it skips is because the phone supports headphones with inline player controls (prev, next, play/pause buttons) and if the jack touches the wrong connections, the phone thinks one of the remote buttons was pressed.

Where can I get compatible headphones with these inline controls? Or better yet, does anyone make just the controls with a jack for my headphones? Any discussion of this on the forum?
Download headset blocker in the market
Bussin Caps n 3D
just started having this problem but mine trys to call the last number dialed but quickly hangs up then launches the voice dialer. sometimes it launches the media player skipping the songs. And the headset icon shows up not the headphone.
ICS update
Does anybody know how to fix this problem using ICS. Headset blocker is not compatible with ICS so I cannot install it!

playing music via Bluetooth?

Has anyone gotten this phone to work playing music through your car stereo through Bluetooth?
I'm paired fine and calls come through stereo, but music still comes through phone speaker. My gf isn't around atm or i'd ask her(she got her HD7 to do bluetooth music on my stereo).
I at least know that once it's paired, it's a phone setting.
I have mine paired with my Sony Bluetooth car stereo and it plays fine. I did have one instance where it played through the phone speaker but it corrected itself the next day.

There should be an option depending on what music player you are using to determine what output you are using. Kinda like if you had a bluetooth earbud, you wouldn't want to play music through it, just receive your calls through it.

So all you did was just pair, started music player, then it automatically went through Bluetooth?
No matter what I do, it just keeps going through phone speaker(only calls go through Bluetooth). I've tried with default music player and poweramp.
I don't have anything bluetooth to try, but there are no options at all to choose output path either in BT or Music player?

Under advanced Bluetooth options there is one labeled FTP Server which I believe you need to have on in order to stream music. Hmm... Tried turning Bluetooth on and off on both the phone and stereo, even rebooted phone. Blah!

When you pair a headset that is stereo capable, it will pair to 2 things, phone audio and media. Have you tried to unpair and pair and see if that fixes it?
I have paired my Rezound with a set of bluetooth stereo headphones and also with my car stereo. I have noticed that the media audio connection is intermittent. It always *says* that it is connected to media audio, but sometimes the sound comes out of my phone speaker anyhow. I have not figured out how to fix this. It seems to happen randomly (more frequently with my car stereo than with the headphones, but it has happened with both). All I can recommend is to go into a Disconnect/Unpair/Pair/Connect loop until you get it to work. It might also help to power cycle your phone. I just did that last night and it paired and connected properly with my car stereo this morning.
This all of course assumes you have checked "Media" under the options screen for the device with which you are pairing.

If it behaves like any other Android phone, when it links up to a bluetooth connection with the audio profile enabled, it should automatically route it's sound to bluetooth, there's no setting in the music player to toggle that.

My car has the option for bluetooth media and when I sync'd the phone to the car last night for the first time it worked flawlessly I didn't have to to anything special. I don't think it's a problem with the phone, maybe the car stereo?
I suspect the phone since I've seen the same intermittent problem both with my car stereo and my headphones. Plus I never had any problem with my original Droid with both those devices.

Update: did a plain old pair with the HTC HD7 again and the music came through the stereo just fine. Tried again with the Rezound and still keeps going through the phone speakers. Oh well... My fault for trusting HTC.. ;P

bluetooth question

We've got twins on the way, so we just bought the wife a new minivan. It has bluetooth audio, which is a pretty slick feature. Up until now, I haven't used bluetooth on any of my phones.
She has an EVO 4G, and I have the 3D. I've noticed that when we're playing music in the van using her bluetooth, you can skip songs with the car's controls, and they'll skip on her phone.
But with the 3D, music plays fine, but to skip a song I have to use my phone's touchscreen. The car's stereo won't control the phone's media player.
I'm on CleanROM 2.5.
Does anyone know why I can't control the phone's media player through my car's stereo, but it works fine on the older EVO?
Thanks!
Hmm very weird.... I don't have built in bluetooth with my car but I use a bluetooth to fm transmitter that has music controls on it and the controls work fine. I use subsonic to play music. I also have a Motorola s9hd and the music controls on that work fine as well..... Have you tried to unpair and then re-pair the car to your phone?

Try connecting to media only. If that doesn't work try manually selecting the media player in the music app, and switch it to the car. If it still doesn't work, check the settings in the car's stereo, maybe there is a setting in there. Also, EVO 3D runs BT 3.0, not sure what EVO 4G has.
Do you have a stock kernal...cause my bluetooth controls work just fine with a stock rom and kernal

So this would be kernel related, as opposed to rom related? I'm probably going to update my ROM soon anyway, so we'll see if that helps.
Do any ROMs/Kernels support track information being transmitted over bluetooth?
Thanks!

Track information over bluetooth is a app thing I believe.
I can say I have used CleanRom 2.5 with bluetooth controls and I have no issues. Right now I am using Myns Rls1 and I have no issue with bluetooth controls.
Try a different music app.
OR, what other audio apps do you have? Something else, for example, like an audiobook reader, may have "hijacked" priority control of the bluetooth controls and that's why they're not working for you on the 3D.
I use them all the time, but sometimes I've had some apps take control of them and I had to delete them or try to not make them have priority.

Bluetooth issues

I am running CM10 on my evo 4g lte. I am trying to connect my phone through bluetooth in my car. I have a kenwood kdc x696 stereo. My phone connects fines with bluetooth, handles call fine but I try to use pandora and play music there is constant crackling through my speakers. If anyone has had this issue and has found a way to fix it. I am about to return my stereo see if that helps, but I dont think its the stereo. I think its my phone. I dont need the bluetooth i can use a cable but having the bluetooth is just easier. Any help would be awesome.

i think i changed the settting the right way. audio through bluetooth still crackles through the speakers. I have decided to exchange the stereo for a different one. Everyone I have talked doesnt seem to know why. I guess we will see what happens. If this doesnt work I guess I will just to go using aux input.
I have this issue with just my wife's EVO, mine sounds great over Bluetooth, but hers has a horrible crackle, both stock JB, any ideas of what it could be?

Sounds like a bluetooth module error. Calls on older bluetooth at least is mono but music is sterio so it is different. Try a firends bluetooth headset to test. Get your phone replaced. If it still breaks or pauses. I think it is a heat issue. Also try mono mp3 or .wav format.

Why don't you just use a AUX cable, I had the same problem.
