I finally got around to taking original apk and edited it for qHD display. It won't have the white back on the top and right anymore.
To install:
1. copy apk to SD.
2. with root explorer, copy apk to /system/app.
3. change permissions to Owner: Read and Write. Group/Others: Read.
4. Reboot your phone.
after it's been rebooted, the DROID X will show up in your LWP selector.
Pics please....
Sorry the screencap is so bad. This is the only taker I could get to work.
Works, looks good. Thank you!
It doesnt work for me as I have my lcd density set to 200.... But definitely nice work...
I updated the apk with the Droid x2 background rather then and edited Droid X one.
Won't show up in LWP for me. Weird.
Followed your directions to a T...

There was something wrong with that apk. I'll fix it tomorrow and upload a new one. For now I'm reposted the original one.
After accidently just opening the apk it asks for coarse network location and something else. Why is that?

Because I believe it has all the stock LWPs in it. One being Google Maps which needs your GPS location to work.
Gotcha.... thanks

Ok o have a little problem now. I can't install my stock blur camera anymore. I downloaded the blur camera from liberty tool box and installed it on my dx2 and it wouldn't work properly. Which I should have known already but i did it any way. But I deleted the liberty blur camera and tried to install the stock blur camera it just seas camera not installed or installation not successful something like that. So if someone has a solution for this please help would really appreciate it. Thanks
All I Can Think Of Is Placing Both Files Attached Into /System/App
Then Change The Permissions As The Photo Shown.
If That Doesn't Work I'm Not Sure How To Fix You're Problem...I Just Hope This Works Out For You.
Ya that didn't work either I have no idea what it can be. I think I deleted the blur.camera.odex. I think that that's what its called but thanks for trying to help
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
The BlurCamera.odex Is In That Zip File Along With The Apk And Both Of Them Need To Have The Permissions Changed How It Is In That Photo. Also They Need To Be In /System/App
Ya I don't know its not working. I think ill just have to wait for a dx2 nandroid backup. But it would be nice not to have to do that though.

Are You Restarting The Phone After You Moved Them There And Changed The Permissions?
AWESOME!!!! Thank you!! It worked like a charm. Thanks for sticking threw it

Here is the thing... I installed Go Launcher a while back then later uninstalled it. The wallpaper I had set in Go Launcher was still showing on my screen. I didn't think anything of it... actually liked it. When I open my wallpapers I don't see it as an option though, and I don't know exactly where the system is pulling this picture from.
Anyone have any idea?
Check gallery?

Is there a port out there to bring bionic or razr cam to X2 i know eclipse 1.3 has bionic cam in it but i tried replacing my cam with it and it did not work. My phone is deodexed so i was wondering if there are any special tricks to get that cam to work on an X2 not running eclipse?

here is the bionic camera and hacked gallery I used from eclipse. I manually pushed them into /system/app and then remember to correct permissions.
It won't install...
Renamed BlurCamera.apk.bak and BlurGallery.apk.bak sent over both files, set perm rw-r-r clicked on them to install and they won't go...

You don't need to press install....just put em in system/app, fix perms, reboot phone.
should be good to go.
yeah, camera would not install automatically, had to manually push them to /system/app as i stated before. once there they will show up in your app drawer. no need to try and install the apk once it is in /system/app
Does this help the camera at all on the Droid X2?
yeah is it just an appearance change or does it actually help camera quality in any extent? =o
Heck, I wonder if this same method would work for blurhome2. Wish I could get the newer blur from the razr since that seems much more refined on resources than the blur that came with the phone.
I just prefer the stock blur look over the other roms.
Thats weird...its not showing up in app drawer perm should be rw-r-r right?
This is going on a stock deodexed X2 no eclipse roms or anything...that should work ya?
do you have to rename it to blurcamera.apk? or something?
Did u reboot?
It wont show up until after u reboot your phone...(power off and power on....not sure if ur using "hot reboot" and I have always done it by power off then power on. )

I thought it was ALREADY blurcamera.apk
but the name shouldn't matter.
Put in /system/app
Permission rw-r--r--
(Sometimes I also change owners to root)
reboot phone
If still giving u trouble....try pulling the one that is in the eclipse rom zip(1.3)
And push that one to system...
Ya its wierd i have done this with other apks before i don't know why this one is not working, im using ES file explorer to apk's over. Is this working on your phone? Before i posted this i tried using apk from eclipse 1.3 and it also wold not install.
Im liking this camera

I grabbed this from the OP and pushed it via adb... After renaming BlurCamera.apk and BlurGallery.apk to .bak. Both the camera and the gallery disappeared. I am in the process of downloading Eclipse 1.3 (again) to pull the camera and gallery out of there and see if I can get it to work on my plain, rooted, deodexed, debloated, stock rom DX2.
[EDIT]
Didn't work. The 3D gallery showed up, but the camera didn't... Bummer. If you get it to work, let me know how you did it. Oh, I copied Camera.apk, CameraPreview.apk and Gallery3d.apk all to /system/app using adb. I chmod 644 all three files and chown root.root them as well. Powered off, then powered on, and still no go. I then tried renaming Camera.apk to BlurCamera.apk and still no go. Bummer, bummer, bummer. I will have to look at the framework next.
[/EDIT]
Ciao!

Sorry, renamed the ORIGNAL BlurCamera.apk to BlurCamera.apk.bak and BlurGallery.apk to BlurGallery.apk.bak.
Just went back and re-read post #2... I just noticed that Mr_GreenJeans didn't say anything about renaming the original camera and gallery files, so that brings up a question... If the original files aren't renamed, how is the Bionic camera and the hack gallery supposed to work? Or, does it just ADD the Bionic camera and the hacked gallery to the DX2? Aw, hell... Lemme try that!
I'll be back to update my post.
[EDIT]
That didn't work either. I used adb to copy Camera.apk and CameraPreview.apk to /system/app/. Both of these came from the zip in post #2. This time, both the original blur gallery and the original blur camera disappeared...
I'm probably way too tired to be mucking around with this now... I'll take another hack at it in the morning.
[/EDIT]
Ciao!
It has to be an issue with being stock b/c I just pull the camera.apk from Eclipse 1.3 and push it to Liberty RC1 and 1.0 just fine. I'm using the preview apk that comes with liberty.

Alrighty, then... I guess I need to give Liberty one more chance... I got frustrated with Liberty because of the CPU mod. It was much slower than my stock ROM coming out of Deep Sleep. Tahnks.

I was able to do the same as well. Installed bionic camera with no problem & also using the preview in liberty...

I actually run RC1 with Navendrob's init scripts tweaked. I find the rc1 to be a smoother ROM than the official. :/

He says it's flashable, i didn't bother to try I just unpacked the zip removed the /system/app/Mms.apk and pushed the new one in hoping for the best...
worked great... (Don't forget to set your permissions I can never remember the chmod so I did it through a file manager like estrongs)
rw-r--r--
Anyway, I didn't do a damn thing, I just was personally offended by the white messaging apk, it just stuck out like a sore thumb... so if anyone has not found this yet, tadah!
Thanks TarHeelTrigger!

Works great thank you for this.

How do you get it to work? I had a horrible time trying to replace my Google search box after botching it trying to replace it with a black one. I'm also using unnamed 2.2.1 w/ blue ics theme found here somewhere
Edit: my PC is down but can I push it from the phone? Does it need a command like /dev/block/mmcblk0p5? Kinda command? To authorize it?

I did not port this over I just am giving you a way to install on your Razr HD.
Download the zip from here ---- >http://d-h.st/lVe
Then follow the directions from here ---> http://pastebin.com/gcHJrFQc
Remember to edit your build.prop ---> editing your build prop can lead to future problems.
Have you tested it? Is there a bigger difference?

I installed it via es file explorer. Not gonna really change the picture quality much but the software is much better imo. No more 10 second shutter lag
i want to try this but im being a scardey cat.
i dont think i know enough about this.
is there a step by step?

if ur scared of adb, use es file explorer. Make the root directory writable in settings. The adb commands in the instructions are just pasting the files from the zip into the system/lib and system/app folders. Then u can use Rom Toolbox Lite to edit the build.prop
Thanks
Wow, thanks for this! I can confirm that it works with the 4.1.1 Jelly Bean leak. This was my first experience using adb too, so the instructions were nice and easy for my newbness.
Is there any way to hide the old gallery and camera?
Can this be done with the keyboard and alarm clock from the Nexus 4 too?
Google play says that my phone is a "Motorola Galaxy Nexus" now xD
would installing this via root explorer have any correlation to why my 4g hasn't worked since I installed? the camera and gallery seem to work fine, and i copied over the apk, lib files, and edited build prop all according to directions.
otherwise, 4g is out in my area.

edit: thanks. It randomly started working. Aliens probably.
I am using successfully (Thanks!) and still have 4G.
it actually makes the camera usable. Still crappy, but usable.

Awesome thanks! I noticed this zip is 't04' instead of the 't01' I was using, newer leak or something?
Ya, I think so. I wish I could remember where I found it to give credit as it's due. I too was trying to get the 01 version to work when I found this.

Because thats the only thing I cant stand with the camera.
