[Q] Anyone have this issue? - HTC EVO 3D

I have noticed sometimes when my phone is off and it's charging when I press power, the phone doesnt turn on. I have to unplug the plug then press power for the phone to power on. It doesnt happen every single time but it happens sometimes. I also notice it happens more after the battery died (even if you let it sit and charge for a few minutes)
Anyone else have that issue?

Yeah, I've also noticed that when this happens, the led will flash red very dimly...

HTC EVO 3d Battery died, now won't Start LED flashes (Rooted)

Its a evo 3d and it waas rooted when i bought it. i got a new samsung so i stopped using the 3d and like after 1 week it won't start now. its got a orange/red light that turn on and off with like 10 second intervals. and i tried a few chargers, and battery pulls and vol down + power button and nothing. i hooked it to the computer and doesn't recognize it what could be wrong with it
It takes a while for the battery to go from completely depleted to charged enough to power the phone.
If after 15 minutes of being connected to an AC outlet it doesn't stop the flashing, then maybe something else is happening.
This happened to the EVO 4G a lot. I've never let my phone get drained enough for this to happen, but it sounds familiar.
Leave the battery out overnight, then in the morning, put the battery back in and put it on the charger and leave it there. You'll be fine.

[Q] Power problems??? weird!

I saw a similar question to this in the general section from back in July but no replies, so I will try this again here and see if anyone has seen this.
Sometimes when I try to power on the phone, the power button seems to do nothing. I press and hold or just a short press and the phone will not turn on. Then randomly it will just turn on. I have noticed in the past that unplugging the charger cable (either wall or USB) seems to help it power up after a few tries. The most recent time this happened, I pulled the battery and tested the voltage with a multimeter set to DC and it displayed the OL (over limit?) similar to what it does when the value is out of range. I tested all the combinations of the 4 connections and the same thing happened on all the proper +/- combinations. I set there for a minute trying to decide if I was crazy and when I tried it again, it showed 4.30V. I put the battery back in the phone and it powered right up.
Anyone else???

i rarely turn it completely off. generally, i reboot thru adb shell which avoids the issue.
on the few occasions i've turned it completely off, i have noticed that pressing and holding the power button didn't turn it on. i had to just tap the power button and it turned on.
i'd agree, there is something odd about the power on button compared to my ns4g and old evo ...
i don't think you're crazy, it is probably a consisently odd issue. hopefully the reassure helps!
HTC, intermittently brilliant.
Maybe something to do with this issue:

My 3vo was doin that also.the only way I was able to power on was through adb reboot bootloader then select reboot.after a few times of doin this it works fine

I too have had the same issue since i upgraded to CWM 5.0.2.0 don't no if your using the same recovery? I have also read in a couple of the development threads in the gsm section that holding the camera button whilst turning on works if it doesn't power on normally
Worth a try if it happens again.

[Q] phone reboot and reboot + indication light on and off

ok, here is an odd problem... will try to explain it as good as I can... with my poor english.
got a GSM model here. after rooting the phone, I updated once for HTC clock wiglet then all the sudden the phone won't boot. it stuck at the HTC logo with the white screen, and then after a short moment, it vibrates then reboot again. and it keeps doing this again and again. guess thats normal among androids? but I just don't know how to fix it. as I checked the recovery screen. it got s-on again. not sure if that is the cause of the problem, but again, I dont really know hot to fix it.
so I was thinking flashing the phone again? but another funny thing happened. the phone doesnt seem to be charging. the orange/red on the top right is staying on for a couple of seconds then off for a couple of seconds then on... so on and so forth.
I am afraid it was the USB port that caused the crash of the system so I think I better ask here first before I do anything.
Anyone has experienced anything like this? or has any idea whats going on?
thanks in advanced!!
forgot to mention. the orange/red indication light is going on and off with and without charging
Anyone?

Sounds to me that your battery is empty. The reason it turns off after you turn it on is because it turns on, sees the battery level low and shuts off to prevent the battery from getting damaged.
The blinking light is common when charging a dead battery. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes and see if the charge light turns solid.

I left it charge over night n it's still playing up. But anyway, I have send it back for warranty. Thx all the same!

[Q] Phone got stock, finally work but..

Hello everyone,
I got a question. Yesterday, my phone shutdown do to no more battery. Once I got home (about 1h30 after), I plug-it into my computer for a good slow charge. I noticed the led was blinking red instead of staying on, but I though it was due to critical low battery. After 3 hours, still the same. I try to open it but nothing happened. Then, I noticed that when I touch the screen or button, the phone vibrate.
I then unplug and try again, same thing. I try plug into the wall charger, samething.
Then I proceed to hold the power button for 5 seconds. All three touch button start flashing and stayed on, but no joy, still vibrate when touching anything with screen turn off (not just no backlight, no image at all).
I manage to found out that holding the button nearly 10 seconds, it force a reboot and then was OK and charged at 70%.
I'm wondering what's the deal here. Is it a problem with the stock rooted rom?
Thanks

[Q] please help!

Last night i fell asleep and my phone died all the way, and now when i plug it in all i get is a lg logo then it goes away and then a dark lit up screen. ive let it charge for awhile now and i still get nothing, i cant get into cwm either.. the phone is unlocked and rooted and im running the base rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Happened to me... leave it on the charger at least 3 hours and check it. The battery completely drains when you unplug the charger if you charged with the phone off. gl
Edit: If it still won't work, turn phone on and plug in charger.

This happened to me too. I completely drained the battery and it kept going into a loop (black screen, LG logo, battery screen). I left it plugged in and off and let it boot up.
FYI
This has happened to several people. I have confirmed through testing, even exchanging my phone 2 days ago that this is an issue created when unlocking the bootloader. Rooting does not cause it. Once the bootloader is unlocked, you can not get around this by re-locking the bootloader.
The workaround is simple. Either leave your phone on while it is charging or if you charge with phone off, unplug your charger and hit the power button- you will still see the charge animation running- this is what causes the battery to drain. All you have to do is power up the phone at least to boot then it is ok to turn off. You can confirm it worked by touching the power button again and not see the charge animation. Hope this helps.
Wow thanks so much for the reply and help! I've got it working now and I guess I'll just avoid it by not letting it die lol

well...
If you let it die all the way, its not a big deal. Plug it in, hold down the volume down button and the power button for 15 seconds, then it will work fine.
Threads like this makes this forum so great. Another potential problem to be avoided when using the phone.

I could use some help guys, if this thread isn't too old. I've searched high and low to the answer here and nothing is working. I've tried download mode, fastboot, recovery, reset, holding power down, plugging it in and unplugging it. I've pulled the plate off of the battery, tried LGNPST, drivers, etc. No go on anything.
The phone is still dead, and will not turn on. The best I've gotten is a solid red light after holding the power button for 15-20 seconds. Then after about 3-5 seconds it resumes flashing (alternating between the red light and the key buttons). If I continue holding the power button down it will repeat this, showing solid red and then reverting to flashing.
I can not get the screen to display anything, not even the charging animation, and none of my computers will even recognize the device. I've been messing with it all day and I'm stuck. If anyone can help me, at all, please do. I hate going to Sprint. Anything but that, please.
