This is the thread for the PowerWashed ROM. This ROM is based on ED05 Froyo and was created by me after a request made in this forum. What is this? Well, I'll explain below.
PowerWashed ED05 Rom v1.2 (Updated 08/23):
This is the ED05 ROM that's been deodexed/debinged/zipaligned, and debloated. It uses some stuff from other sources to improve user experience:
ED05 base which I deodexed - pentafive

Pure AOSP Music from Android 2.2.1 build
CWM script to work off as a template - ComRom 2.0
Improved GPS.conf file
Also removed some unneeded files.
More additional changes, see changelog below.
Has latest market. Google Maps added. Has busybox, bstats and fxpms scripts and Superuser app, pre-rooted.
It is recommended to start clean from an ED05 Odin.
If you are upgrading from an older beta, load CWM, wipe dalvik, flash this and whatever extras you added from below, and you should be good.
Please scroll down a bit to read the known bugs, if it's known don't complain about it unless you have useful info that can be used to fix it.

PW-OTB Fusion Kernel (08-15-2011):
* This is not an official OTB Kernel and is not supported by nemesis2all. *
* This is a fork of the OTB kernel. *
This is the OTB kernel built from source that has been upgraded to ED05. It uses the OTB v1.6 kernel base as a start, and adds in the ED04/ED05 changes and Voodoo Sound v10. Voodoo conversion has also been fixed up so that it works properly on ED05. This also contains times_infinity's fixes for missed calls that were added into the PB&J kernel by imnuts. This should work on any ED05 or ED01 Froyo ROM.
This supports the same features as OTB like Overclocking and Undervolting using the app Voltage Control.

By downloading and installing this kernel, you assume that this is a testing kernel and that I am not liable for whatever may happen to your phone as a result of this kernel.
Changes from 08-15 Kernel:
- Reverted ARM voltages to stock values for good
- Bumped Frame rate cap to 72
- Set Kernel HZ to 500 Hz
- Set User HZ to 300 Hz
- Set CFQ as default scheduler
Changes from 08-22 Kernel:
- Changed some settings in clock.c to OTB 1.2 values
Installation tips:
I recommend you use this recovery to install this kernel. Other recoveries might have issues with the CWM installation script:

Use Odin to install this recovery.
I recommend you wipe cache and dalvik before installing the kernel. Also, because some people are having issues with FC's, it might be best to run "Fix Permissions" in the Advanced menu in CWM.

Same setup here right now. I'm trying to get Voodoo and TSM Mods to work together nicely on this, but an ED05 voodoo kernel might be needed. Maybe Ill find out how to make a kernel or maybe someone else can make an ed05 kernel.

If you want it back, you can un-zip this and drop it into /system/etc with Root Explorer or adb possibly. Tomorrow I might make a CWM script to put it back in if people choose to.
thank you for the rom i have had a lot of issues with CM7 and the data not working together and this rom is working great for me so far i am running voodoo kernel on it right now and its booting up well see how it works for me
Uh oh, found an issue where Phone.apk FC's when you hang up a call and it kills the signal, should only affect Powerwash. I believe it's due to the compression I added to the PowerWash apk's. I'll try to get that fixed with beta v3 and I will also remove some other junk files still in the ROM as well.
Edit: Have Powerwash beta v3 uploading. Will update the OP in the morning. Tested and it fixes said problems.

Are the voodoo's available for testing? Or will be soon? Do I seem eager(lol )
By the way you may want to mention that if someone wants to flash this rom and is coming from a voodoo lagfix setup, lagfix should be disabled before the flash. I know you recommend flashing over EDO5 clean, but I have flashed it over other froyo roms and the only problem I have had was if I didn't disable lagfix (in cwm) first. Might be helpful to some.

First and foremost the vast majority of the credit goes to andmer and sbrissen. Andmer got the miui launcher and other apks working with touchwiz...which is an incredible accomplishment and sbrissen for all his mods to the phone, including the MIUI lockscreen, which has been out for awhile now but obviously fits the project well.
Ok so what is MIUIwiz?
*It is a combination of several features of MIUI and our regular old sammy touchwiz.
*Since the launcher is such a major part of what makes MIUI what it is...you will notice that much of the feel of MIUI carries over to this.
*GOcontacts has replaced our regular dialertabactivity.apk as its more MIUI-like and the Miren browser has replaced our regular samsung browser.
*GOSMS is included..but regular mms.apk has also been packaged in for those who have issues with GOSMS
*OTB 1.3 has been packaged in to the ROM as it seems to be the most compatible with the most peoples phones...feel free to flash whatever voodoo kernel you want immediately after flashing the rom before booting though.
*aosp filemanager instead of myfiles built from source
*miui/gb touchwiz themed
*MIUI music instead of tw or aosp music
*no accurate battery atm (there will be soon enough)
*MIUI icon theming...basically similar to a metamorph or cm7 theme engine in that it replaces images/icons...but in this case the system icon for an apk without editing the apk
*MIUI camera/camcorder instead of tw
*aosp deskclock (will add clockpackage in as optional download)
*stock android keyboard (instead of gb kb in com rom) from MIUI
*MIUIWiz is based off of Ultimate Kangbang 1.3 (com rom) so it includes TSM Parts, as well as adrynalynes numerous under the hood mods.

A: no. do to the complexity of MIUI weathers' databases the app is divided up by region...so you ll have to get it from here with the appropriate apk...or if you have fancy widget pro, the miui skin mimics it very well

A: even though this is *based* off of com rom, the framework-res.apk, android.policy.jar, services.jar, and framework-jar have been heavily modified to work with the miui launcher2.apk...if you dont wipe...best case scenario is you loose sensor orientation and the phone wont rotate in your apps...worst case tons of acore force closes and app crashes

A: no, you will most certainly bootloop...the changed apks/jars wont take...and MIUIWiz uses MIUI icon theming as well (think metamorph/theme engine built into the rom flash for sys icons)

A: Could be you didnt wipe data, etc...do that
A: Could be you didnt convert to ext4 on another kernel before flashing this rom/kernel package (this otb kernel will not convert)....try flashing one of jts 4/15 voodoo kernels first

This rom is built from AOSP including all fixes up to date and then tweaked for better performance. I know there is not much GB love around with the awesome devs working on ICS and JB but I wanted to update this since it's been over a year.

It is possible to get it working but it is a lot of work and modifying many .apks from source for all the redirections to work properly. There are many CM7 ROMs out there with this feature built in so I am not going to spend the time doing it. Also, the Gingerbread stock launcher would not handle it well and I don't plan on changing to ADW or LauncherPro. I do plan on customizing the look of this ROM and am open to suggestions.

[APP] Spirit FM Radio (real radio TI/Broadcom) - xda-developers is similar to miui and htc sense radio because it has RDS aka text-info of station/song name. BTW is there a pull-down notification power widget for N1? I found notif-pw-widgets for desire hd and evo - not sure if they will work on nexus though. I hope to try out Go Launcher Ex. I think it's free on the market. Adding famous htc sense LWP and nexus S microbes LWP would be nice addition to STOCK.

The FM Radio is dependent on the kernel and until I find a custom kernel that i am happy with or build one myself, there wont be an FM Radio included in this ROM. I am working on implementing the power widget and if it doesn't break the build it will be included in the next release. I am trying to do as many things as I can without diminishing the functionality and stableness of stock ROM. Microbes Nexus S LWP is already included in this ROM.

Ok thanks for noticing that, I never would have. I think it is somewhere in the source code Google is trying to block Fcebook because "they collect data and keep it to themselves for advertising purposes and they don't use the Google API for contacts". I will work on it when I get back into town tonight.
one more question: what about battery life and which kernel do you recommend?

Yes Polish language is included. As far as trackball wake, I am not a fan because it always wakes up in my pocket. I can try to implement it though for you guys in the next release.

I assume you can, I have not tried Tiamat's kernel with this ROM yet, but let me know if you get SOD's because I was getting them when I used it with a different ROM. I have not tried that mod though so please let me know how it goes. Remember undervolting your phone to a high extent may cause erratic behavior so be careful and good luck. Please post feedback.

With the stock kernel you will get an error after running the configurator complaining about line 17 and 22 ignore it's caused by the [] around the current setting i am working on it but to fix just switch to a diff scheduler then switch back to the one you want.

Configurator SE - This is a special edition of The Configurator here is the added features and instructions:
***Push bootanimation/downanimation from sdcard. This allows you to push a bootanimation or downanimation you want to use, just put the one you want to use on your sdcard in this folder /sdcard/configurator/bootanimation or your downanimation in /sdcsrd/configurator/downanimation it doesn't matter what they are named then push them in The Configurator. You can only have one zip file in the folders at a time for now.
***Change carrier text mod. This option allows you to change the text on your lock screen. By default it is Sick Sense, you can make it what you want. If you don't enter anything it will be blank ie., gone on your lock screen just add text to bring it back.

AppsBak is used with the configurator, open terminal and type su then type ss you will see the main menu.
Make a backup with option 10 it will take a few minutes depending on how many apps you have installed. Once you do this once it will auto update the backup at boot it will delete files that arent installed anymore, add new ones, and update old ones. It uses 7zip to do it, i will be making this a stand alone mod as well.
You can also restore your apps with the script it's option 11, it will restore apps that arent there already keeping existing apks. After a restoration you have to either reboot or do a hot reset for the apps to show up in your list. The backup is stored on the sdcard it's called Apps-Backup.zip.
I also added LCD Capacitive brightness control to the configurator, i set mine to 3 its dim but not to dim. It goes up to 50 which is full brightness and 0 is off. It will be saved and applied at reboot so you only have to set it once.

Question, and Im not trolling, Im curious. Did you ask ANY of Team Synergy if you could release THEIR Kernel? If not, this is considered a Kang. You need to see if its ok with THEM before posting a their work. Making a theme for a ROM is ok and you dont ever have to ask, but changing a few things and calling it yours is by definition kanging.
Ziggy puts a lot of work into his kernels and I know for a fact that he doesnt want them released by anyone other than Team Synergy.
It also uses Ziggy's kernel cause i loved the last one and some of Synergy's edits for speed, So Thanks to TrevE, Ziggy471 and Virus.

The only thing i used from synegy rom is the kernel,i used a few snippets of code and all their files say "if you use our stuff please give credit." which i did. If they say not to use it then i will remove it, but i think they are like me when it comes to open source practices.
The rom base is steel's not synergy.
And i am gonna try adding zeus mods to it maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, I realized it wasnt the full ROM, but the Kernel that you grabbed from the build, so I edited for Clarity. The fact remains though that Ziggy does NOT want his kernels released anywhere other than by Team Synergy.

Thanks i appreciate it, when i try using the ramdisk with tweaks my phone gets stuck at the splash screen it frustrated me so i gave up, lol.
I am using disidia's kitchen. Thats spelled wrong i know...

I also want to add zues mod but keep my current systemui in tact, just not sure what files need to be changed in systemui to do this.

Does ziggy even comply with the android GPL's? If not, he doesn't really have much too complain about. Since his stuff is released to the public, his source should be too (searching for it just led me to people posting that he doesn't comply with gpl, so I hope I'm wrong and he does somewhere ). He wouldn't even be able to modify kernels if companies like HTC ignored gpl's.

One thing to take into acocunt anyway is that Steels newest rom is based off the latest OTA so it uses the stock kernel. Has ziggy already pushed out a update to his kernel based on the latest source? If not then you should have some issues there already.
btw the other poster is right, I have yet to see a gpl from ziggy anywhere thats posted. haven't seen one since the evo4g kernels he did. So the guy is already breaking gpl as it is.....even though his kernels are top notch usually right there with nets for sure.

After installing I could not get past the SGSII screen. Left it there for over 8 minutes and never would get past the screen. Tried installing twice, both times did wipe data\factory reset. Came from another XXLPQ. After failing, I installed the XXLPQ rom I had prior and had no problems with it. Just an FYI.

TW international, has less features then US TW & TW 4.5 which is what you are use to, trust me you do not want it.
If you want to try US TW, grabbed it from apps section and see if it works.
Apex or Nova launcher is definitely the way to go for ics, nice change from touchwiz.

Odd it should work, mostly if coming from another XXLPQ base.
That was from IRC right, cause Vlara (who made it) didn't post it on XDA.
After wipe/install, if stuck in boot try to install again on top of it.
Might have not gone through all the way.
