Guys
I searched the Sony Ericsson category in the new market app on my phone yesterday, and you can already install the new widgets and apps from the category. Just browse the category on your phone to get some of the new .368 apps :-D
I have also provided a link on the website to show you what's available. Thouh their might be some updates which are available in this post, and not on the market itself.
Both sources help
https://market.android.com/search?q=sony+ericsson&c=apps&feature=spelling
Life Contacts is available
Data Monitor
Various new timescape extentions
Live view
P.S.... @ShyamSasi hope you don't mind be posting this, did not see a point in a whole new thread, let me know if you want me to put elsewere...thanks

I haven't tested it myself since i'm using the new build. I would think the Home.apk, ThemeManager.apk and DefaultThemes.apk.

Well not all the applications are in Market for example the updated Home Launcher, New Timescale UI, Data Monitor Widget etc.

The update has same kernel and android version so installing all these apps/replacing other default apps will "update" my already rooted 2.3.3 right? Will try this weekend.
Thanks for posting the apks!

photo widget is missing from my widget list.. guess PhotoWidget.apk is not compatible with the old fw

Cant install the weather widget and the theme manager,,why?
Sent from my Sonyericsson Xperia Arc

Try to move them all to /system then change permission. Then move them one by one to /system/app. Others will have to be replaced. See if that works. Will try myself this coming weekend.
Edit: When I said all, I mean all apks including framework. Framework. jar should also be in its right folder. You'll know it is right because it will ask you to replace the file. Framework.apk is important for home, themes, xloud, widgets to work. Reboot after you've done that.

So if I want xLoud, I'll lose my current theme?

Yes because it is activated in settings menu which is in new framework apk. Just mod it again after you are done.

Are there other .apk I need to use xLoud or just the framework-res.apk?

Yeah, I've also tried this... DO NOT replace your framework-res.apk from 3.0.1.A.0.145 with the newer 4.0.A.2.368 version. Your phone will get stuck in a reset loop and unless you have an unlocked bootloader, its a huge pain to get root again.
I ended up just using the 4.0 firmware though because I love the new weather widget so much

with 4.0 firmware the phone is running faster w/o root compared to 2.3.3 with all bloatware frozen with tbp.

[THEME] UI resources From Blend now open to BL locked users!

Hey guys,I have posted a rom which is called Blend and here is the link to my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Only BL unlocked users can flash my rom but you may like the UI style of Blend if your BL is still locked.
Therefore,I decided to post the resources from the rom here for anyone who don't want to unlock the bootloader. With these resources you can have a Blend UI for your own rom without unlock your phone's bootloader.
UI resources from Blend:
system/app:
1.MusicWidget.apk
2.widgetdigitalclock.apk
3.widgetonoff.apk
4.datatrafficswitch.apk
5.MediaWidget.apk
6.Home.apk
7.DefaultThemes.apk
system/framework:
1.android.policy.jar
2.framework-res.apk
3.framework.jar
WARNING:
1.You should set the right permissions for those resources when you move them into the system directory!
2.Only 2.3.4 users can use those resources.
3.I'm not responsible if you brick or damage your phone! Just be careful and Good luck!

That was fast!
Thank you!
One thing: I'm using transparent home with 7 home screens. How would the home.apk affect the theme if I use mine instead of yours? Or can you mod yours to incorporate those two mods?

You can just replace my home.apk by yours. It's OK.
Just installed! Works perfect!
Few more questions/request:
I'm guessing I cant add the CRT animation as it would replace the framework-res.apk? How do I change the wallpaper in defaultthemes.apk? And will Track-id widget, call log widget and other SE widgets be themed later? Also, with the Music Widget a separate apk, does this mean I can use other launchers to get the widget or is it somehow attached to SE Home like the previous firmwares? Thanks for all your help!

1.You can open framework-res.apk as .zip format and replace the anim directory to change the animation or you must replace those three apps at the same time.
2.Wallpapers are actually under this dic: system\etc\customization\content\com\sonyericsson\wallpaperpicker\wallpapers
3.Track-id is useless if you have unlocked your phone.
4.You can't use other launchers to run most of the widgets from SE I believe because they are based on SE home and SE framework. However you can have a try.
Thx for your reply.
Jason,
Anyway you could make one for [4.0.A.2.368] because of battery drain issue I had to switch back to that version. I was using your ROM.
can .42fw use this frame?
Hello, i've tried this on .42 with proper permissions and my phone went into bootloop.
From which build are those system files?
An old build, I guess the one before .42
Jason, I know your'e on Miui now, but could you please update this theme to .42?
Would love to use this.

[CustomPack] CustomChanges for SONY ICS by Adrian DC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CustomChanges by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/ics_customchanges.html
The CustomChanges will allow you to choose between various
interface improvements, aswell as system tweaks and changes.
My whole new CustomChangesMenu.sh will let you to install the changes in some few clics.
I do recommend putting the whole 'CustomChanges' folder in SDCard/custom/...
SDCard/custom/backups will automatically contain the original files.
CustomChangesPCUpdater.bat will copy the files directly on your MicroSDCard.
For DefaultThemes, see : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698350
You can find the thread on PhonAndroid.com :
[Infos] Modifications CustomChanges de la ROM SONY ICS
Informations on the installation :
Nothing is out of danger, the simple fact of being rooted is a danger.
To be sure, please do a CWM backup before doing anything..
If something goes wrong during the installation, wait the reboot.
If ICS can't boot after that, restore the backup (and contact me if needed).
In order to install the pack correctly :
To make your life easier, I wrote shell scripts.
You'll need to be Root, and to have BusyBox installed (1.19.4 recommended).
Then, you need SManager (ScriptManager).
Finally, just launch the CustomChangesMenu.sh to get quick choices and installation.
More informations on screenshots and : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25706436#post25706436.
A backup of all changed files will be done in /sdcard/custom/backups/.
The script won't run without Root, and will stop if something's missing.
Please make a backup before doing something else :
If you already have a recovery, that's perfect !
Otherwise, using a locked bootloader like me (unchanged) :
Freely install Xperia CWM Auto-Installer from the Market / Play Store :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler&hl=fr
Follow the instructions and you'll have CWM installed to your ROM,
meaning even locked bootloaders can use it.
At boot-up, check the side blue LED : When it gets blue,
press the volume down button to enter the CWM Recovery.
Use volume keys or menu to navigate, Home to accept, Back for back.
Backup is complete and will be saved to the MicroSDCard,
Whatever happens to the phone, it can be restore from the backup.
Keep a copy on PC of one backup in case you do something on the SDCard.
ScriptManager :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
● Applications that can be removed :
You can use Titanium Backup in order to delete the apps you want.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
● V6SuperCharger :
V6SuperCharger will allow you to boost the memory management on Android.
The script is directly implented in the CustomChangesMenu.sh, just read .

Some help on Home.apk : vr5411
Root : DooMLoRD
XS Lockscreen : AeonWorld, Pandemic, ThilinaC.
MooDeD Camera : jader13254
Xperia T System Dump : krabappel2548
Xperia ROM and files : SONY®.
I do own my AndroidFilesInstaller.sh and CustomChangesMenu.sh,
those are only created by me, and I can't guarantee that someone
who do pretend to share my scripts didn't hack the scripts.
I'll only help regarding my scripts, and not other changed ones...
A maximum of securities are implented in my scripts,
to be sure you're safe and that nothing's gonna get wrong..
I or we don't own those files, they are shared by the developers
from each previously given sources. Some are done by me.
They are indented for the ICS Stock ROM.
Files are given as are, with hope of maximum compatibility
and a lot of tests done on my side, but problems can always remain..
The idea here is to find all best files for our stock roms.
If something goes really wrong, you can always restore your backup
or use PC Companion to Repare your Phone and quickly reinstall ICS/GB.
Neither me nor the developers can be held responsible for any mystake
you might do with wrong use of the tools provided or missing backups..
If you have doubts, asks before changing the system.
Thanks for understanding.
To restore your Home settings, you can use Titanium Backup,
or use my whole new XperiaHomeManager.sh script (see on my website).

There you go !
See you !

Done! CustomChanges v9 is online, enjoy !
In one word : simple, fast, cool ! Very interresting features added easily.
This is a way of installing many mods with a max of security. I've tested the V9 yesterday night : backup/restore included, many choices for installing (or not) various mods.
I've read a lot of post on XDA about Mods, but I was a bit affraid to install them (I have my first android phone since few weeks).
With the script, no more problem, everything is updated, everything can be uninstalled, with 1 script. And each mod is tested by Adrian DC, so no risk
It's better to have a recent recovery, in case of problem (I've had a bootloop because of a bad rooting. Thank you CWM ! ).
Ahah fantastic, thanks for the review
Largo is one of my favorite testers on PhonAndroid,
he got all versions before releases
If someone does try the Xperia S Music Player, please tell me if it worked,
because that's the only thing I can't get working on Android 4.0.4.... Thanks.
EDIT : I'm working on my new DefaultThemesCustomizer project,
will let you know, I think it'll take me a lot of time xD, already 2 hours..
EDIT : The image processing is almost done ! Just need to finish the previews compositionning !
I'm downloading it right now but how to install it? I have everything you said necessary (busybox and script manager) but I still dont get it how to run it! Please help and sorry for my noobness!
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
If you're downloading right now, you still didn't see that in the main 'changes' folder,
there is a 'CustomChangesMenu.sh' script, which you have to run like said in the 1. post.
Keep me up, don't hesitate to ask questions.
But I'm downloading it to my phone...or should it be on my computer???
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
Read the last line of the introduction.
On SdCard. Recommended path in first post
My next project for this will be a DefaultSettings.apk automatic customizer,
in a way the same idea of a similar thing I did for the LG Viewty.
Will see..
Would it bother you to do it on Windows or are there some people here with Linux?
Ran the script, chose the options I wanted but the got a boot loop. Had to do a cwm restore. On 4.0.4!
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
What choices did you do?
Did you install the NXT Transformation Pack before, as said in your signature?
I can't promise both will work together...
Yes I did! Perhaps that was the problem! :S
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
Unfortunately if you want to remove it,
the only way would be to restore a backup or reinstall ICS...
Sorry..
I've restored through cwm but now the wi fi seems to be really slow! Weird!
I'll do a restore on SEUS and then I'll give another go! Don't need to apologize! Thanks for your work!

[Themes] DefaultThemesCustomizer for SONY ICS

DefaultThemesCustomizer by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/ics_defaultthemescustomizer.html
The application will allow you to set your own wallpaper on each default color schemes of the SONY ICS ROM,
just by simple choices and a single Wallpaper.png to change !
The script handles the images creation and building, there's nothing to worry about.
Provided apks are from the official 4.0.4, but you can replace them by 4.0.3 apks if you want to use the application with this version of ICS.
Now even works for SONY GB 2.3.4 !
Also provided by default is my own Bokeh-6-4 Wallpaper, which I do use in most of my previews.
Bye !

Hi !
My DefaultThemesCustomizer application doesn't require root since the new version 7.
Indeed, since I now also build a flashable zip to install the files,
in addition to my original AndroidFilesInstaller files,
you now get a Flashable zip to Install the apk and an other one to restore
the original files you just modded !
But if like me you prefer to use my AndroidFilesInstaller, then yes, you need root.
The application should work with every ICS phone from the Xperia 2011 serie,
but so far, I can only assure the Arc S and the Arc are working fine with it,
Ray, Neo/Neo V and others are still to be confirmed.
Bye !
ADC
No problem.
Nonono don't rename the zip, they are build as they have to be ^^
Flashable zip are to be installed from the CWM Recovery.
And now that I think of it... You should need root to install CWM on the ROM...
Or if you did unlock your bootloader, which would seam unprobable here,
you could use the normal CWM without root...
Anyways, root is so much better than normal.. The choice is yours
EDIT : You should try installing the apks without AndroidFilesInstaller, just by installing them normally.
Since they are system apps, I'm not sure you'll be able to install them that way, but who knows?
If you look closer to the modded files, you'll see that you get :
- FlashableZip[ThemesCustomized] > Flashable zip to install new Themes
- FlashableZip[ThemesOriginal] > Flashable zip with original Themes
- system~app[DefaultThemes] > Files to install with my AndroidFilesInstaller.sh
This last one contains the very apk that you just modded,
so try to install them manually..
If it doesn't work, think about rooting.. It's much better afterward ^^.
vassil_bk said:
Thank you! Unfortunately this was the first thing I tried and it didn't work. It gave me: "Application not installed." and only the "OK" button.
Thank you again for your help! It is getting obvious that I should consider rooting the device if I want to change these things...
Still I don't understand why Sony don't give this opportunity through the settings menu but lock some predefined (mostly a lot ugly) themes instead...

Yep, root might be the solution to many problems ;D
Ahah yeah, if the phone brands did give us full design control and choices,
things would be much more easy for users..
Hmm i dont know if im doing something wrong here... but
Okay so I get to the part where it ask to choose the following defaults colors, It opens a window with the folders so I choose that wallpaper and try to assign it to number 1, click enter and it just loops. Opens another window with the samething...confused here.
I feel like im doing this part wrong.
Will check that asap, I'll let you know.
Envoyé depuis mon Xperia Arc S.
EDIT : I tried it, it's working just fine..
By assigning, what do you exactly mean...?
The only thing you have to do is to change the wallpaper
if you want to, but it has to keep the same name,
so as the mask png which also is needed and can be changed.
Then just choose the color by the number and press enter.
If you try to rename the pngs, which isn't said to be done anywhere,
the securities I've put in the script will make the request loop
until you fix the errors and have propre pngs in place.
Hope it helped.
Bye!

You framework folder needs to be entirely deodexed or odexed. It can't have some files odexed and other not, like Apps folder. the phone won't boot. Krabappel words And if that is from the SSPeed ROM, the system is really unstable, so the phone won't stay up too much... I could try, but I would need to have the entire framework folder so i could test on my phone.
Hope his files are from the 1.58 fw. Don't know if there is any incompatibility with an older ICS fw.

OK. I will see what I can do. I'm not modder or anything, I just can follow some tutorials.

Oh god... I found both tutorials once (Re-odex and add reboot to power menu) but now I can't find any of them
Could you share your entire Framework folder, I want to see if it could work on my 1.58 fw... I'm not sure, but, still. Maybe with it fully deodexed I can try, and it will make it easier. I also could do the 30 volume step mod
I think Sony should create a "Expert Mode" on their JB firmware, where experienced users could activate some nice features, such as enable Reboot in power menu.

So I was tinkering around on the KA12 SSpeed rom and created the reboot button for the power menu. So I'm not entirely sure if it will work on the stock rom since it's not deodexed.
But attached is the modified android.policy.jar. I had reused an existing icon as I couldn't recompile framework-res.apk.

Do you have an android.policy.odex file there as well? If so, that means you can't use this, since it was created on a deodexed rom.
But, like I said, I have it working krab's KA rom so I can't really tell if it will work anywhere else.

Sure if you did delete the file, the users phone would not start.

For a quick fix while you wait...try the quick reboot app from the market - tiny little app, reboot, reboot into recovery etc - works well :good:
Do you know how many times you could have just turned your fone off and on normally by the time you've done all this?

Use notification toggle from market to add toggles and reboot from notification bar, its free and customizable
Hit thanks if it helps

[Q] Themes before the update

Hi all , I updated My phone to the latset update and its quite good.. but what I hated is that it changed the themes from (ruby , amethist , saphire etc...) to (Heat ,Silk , Vintage ..etc) and I dont like the new themes .. is there a way to restore or install the old themes before the update without rooting the device?

The colour tones for the New themes are not visible properly on Icons and widgets
I guess you can re-install the "old" ones manually by rooting and moving them to /system/app. Download the stock ROM on your computer and pull them out yourself (from /system/app), or ask if someone here can do it for you (just upload them to Dropbox/Drive/etc. from the phone). I would do it, but i still don't have the Ultra.

Manually move them to /system/app and change their permissions (root needed) to 6-4-4 (RW-R-R), and then reboot. I'm not 100% sure it'll work though.

THANK YOU !! I managed to install it and everything is fine...but ... I notice that some of the colors in the theme turned into black : ex. (Email, notification) so I am thinking of changing my strategy here... is there a way to change the color tone of the existing themes? like editing the color pallet or something in the app?

Yeah, but you'll have to decompile the apk and start messing around with xml files and stuff. Go to the Themes section in the Xperia Z forum and ask if someone can help you.
