1.100.00R Radio one bar - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this a common problem with this radio? Everytime I install a rom that has this radio, I only have 1 bar. Not sure if there is a fix or ifit's just my area that doesn't have enough signal. The .30 baseand I had full signal.

International or AT&T?
If your att and on GB you should be on .30.
.30 is recommended for all GB roms, not sure about international. If .30 worked then go back to it. Its the latest and greatest.
far as i know the roms for the atrix do not change the radio, at least the top 3 dont.

[Q] SIM or Leaked Radios[MR2/MR2.5]

Here is my issue.
Phones
Mine: Perfect Storm 1.5 - Stock Kernel - Have used both MR2 and MR2.5 Radios
Wife's: Stock Unrooted - MR1 Radio.
Area: Philadelphia
I am trying to figure out if my SIM is having issues or if it is the behavior of the leaked radios. When i first flashed both version I could reliably get 4G data connections. After about a day or so on both they fall back to 3G and I will occasionally get 4G but not often.
Currently with the MR2.5 I took others advice on here yesterday. In the morning I removed the SIM, Powerd on the Tbolt, and then rebooted with the SIM back in. I had a 4G connection all day. I woke up this morning and I am back at 3G. I put my phone right next to my wife's and she has 4G.
Thoughts?
You might want to check your radio settings something might be getting switch to cdma (auto) instead of the cdma/Lte combo.
Some of the roms have it default to no lte in the radio sections, so you're phone might be rebooting I your pocket and some how the radio gets switched.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion but the settings are CDMA/LTE and I am in 3G
Having the same problem here in the Washington DC area. Updated my rom to the GingerRemix #6 and was fine at first. Last two days I have no data connection. Have flashed two different radio's, reboots and pulled the sim card.
This is with the mr2.5 upgrade..
Trying not to flash back to 1.7 but may have to if I cannot find answers...
This sounds more software related than a SIM card issue to me. I would think that if the SIM was bad, you would either get no service or no 4G.
You can try to flash this ROM http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?175-ROM-Plain-Jane-1.66.605.6-(aka-MR2-OTA2-v3)-6-9-2011&p=1758 which is the stock ROM just rooted. the MR2 and 2.5 radios work with this build, MR1 does not.

So I am getting REALLY crappy data service. Crappy 4g & 3g. Not just my cell towers, but all through the greater twin cities area (Minnesota). Can someone suggest a radio that could help me with this? Thanks.

Don't think it's your radios, bro. If it is, flash the 2.11 radios or 1.70 radios. I don't think it'll change anything though. It's more likely your ROM or network issues.

I hope it isn't the rom... I'm really digging the HACK3DA05P rom... Which radio are you talking about? I have 802, MR2, MR2.5, and 06275r on my SD card.
Nevermind... Search box is my friend and all that...
Okay, found it and updated the CDMA radio. As you unfortunately suspected, it hasn't helped. The CDMA radio is 817r from the 2.11 RUU. Sometimes my phone shows quite a few signal bars, but no data connectivity. At some points it will show 4G connectivity when there is none at all. When I attempt to use data, the 4G up arrow will light up for a second as if sending a page request. Then it will light up again after a while of not loading. And again... And again... At other points my 4G/3G will work at passable connectivity levels. This is quite frustrating...

I'm sure it is! Mine does that on occasion, but a restart usually fixes it or it gets it's crap together on it's own.
I may have found the issue...

bad 4g sim card?

how can i tell if my sim card is starting to fail? i do have frequent data drops and alot of switching between 3g/4g/1x. i cannot tell if its the phone, sim, rom or radio doing this?
if it is bad will verizon give me a new card without hassles? i just do not want to unroot to take it in.

I was using the 2.11 radios and was having a lot of issues with data freezing and quirky connectivity. I went back to the 1.70 OTA radios and it seems to have gone away. I think it's something to do with the CDAM radio packed with those newer radios.

I don't make habit of using partial numbers of a specific radio version to denote a particular CDMA/LTE radio package. A good reason not to is because the RUU 2.10 and 2.11 radios use the same CDMA radio. By 1.70, I mean the radios that came with the 1.70 RUU.
I'm glad the goofy "MR" scheme is dying though.
i think im going to mix & match the cdma radio from 627 and the lte radio from 802.

Be curious to see what you find using that combo.
I've never mixed and matched radios.

well i know people do it. the 627 cdma radio seems the best and the 802 lte radio seems to have the best 4g speeds.

[Q] Rhodium 400 radio (sprint)

I have installed GBX0*+3.4.35 Full on my Rhodium 400 on the sprint network and it seems to be running well.
I notice that I only get 2 bars of reception max. I am running the stock radio (or was under windows mobile). Do I need to flash another radio to improve reception in android?
Thanks

You don't need/have to, but some people find that running the slightly newer Verizon radio helps.

You don't want to be looking at the bars, but rather the real signal strength. The bars are a very rough guide, and not consistent between roms or OSs

[Q] Can changing your CID effect your mobile network signal?

Simple question can changing your CID effect you mobile signal? Also if im getting poor signal after flashing the GE 4.3 ROM could it be a radio issue? Like do i need to update the radio or will it not make a difference?
Also ever since flashing this ROM ive noticed poor reception. I have to note i do live in the UK.
Thanks

Compare using actual signal values. Some carriers misrepresent bars to make it look close to fill signal even if actual signal value may not be different.

Are you actually having mobile connection issues when you use the mobile? I've read elsewhere that 4.3 seems to be more conservative with the displayed signal bars, without having negative effects the actual signal strength. So even though it might look worse visually, it actually isn't effecting mobile reception.
I believe the posted 4.3 GE RUU updates the radio to the latest, so you've got it if you've done the GE 4.3 'conversion'. Not sure about the other recovery based 4.3 ROM's though.
