Hey, just wondering if anybody has managed to port the write and go app from the i9000 to the i9100?
I used it allot on the galaxy s and now its not on the galaxy s 2.
I used a root explorer and bluetoothed the the apk and odex file over to the GS2 but it does not install, not even if i put them in the system/app folder. it goes tgough the install process but comes up when finished with the application not installed error.
A family member has the Galaxy S3 and it is completely stock, non rooted and so on, and i know the phone does not need to be rooted to install apk files.
The problem is that i have copied over the apk file that i want onto his S3 but his phone, no matter what file explorer you use, just will not see the apk files at all, the fines worked fine on my Sensation and DHD and One X, but i just can not get the phone to see the apk files,
any idea's on what is causing the phone to not see the files?
cheers

you sure they are named as .apk file and not .zip? you should be able to see the filename without the .apk in myfiles for example (myapp.apk will appear as myapp), you will also have to check allow install from unknown sources in the security menu in settings..
yes its named .apk
i have not changed anything about the apk files from installing them on my other phones as i said, the DHD and the Sensation are both rooted but my One X is not rooted and that was able to see the apk file and install it, i seriously have no idea on why the S3 is not seeing them at all and that is after searching online for info
also i have enabled the use on non-market applications to be installed, but that is no use if the phone cant see the .apk files to install it in the first place
How you transferred the file to GS3? Is the file visible when connected to PC?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I connected the S3 to the PC via the USB cable and transferred the apk that way to the SD Card, when the phone is connected to the PC i can see the apk

Are you using the builtin file manager?
If yes open it, press menu softkey, press settings, show hidden files.

getting my files to show hidden files did not work.
what it is that i'm trying to install a game, there is a data folder that has to be transferred onto the phone as well, it goes into the Android\obb folder on the sdcard, i created the folder and copied over the files into the folder, the phone.... using my files, astro or es explorer still will not see that folder i created for the files or the apk file itself that has to be installed for these files to be used.
also i tried it on a friends stock, non-rooted Galaxy S2 and it could see the files and it installed first time with no problems so right now i have no idea on what is going on with the Galaxy S3
Sorted, i know what it was, me being a tit....
when you open astro, it starts off in the SDcard folder... the samsung see's the built in memory as the SDcard.. to see the actual SDcard (the removable one lol) i have to select extSCcard..
Am i a tit or what lol
Cheers for the help anyway guys
much appreciated

Use mass storage mode to copy it. Then download a player that support that audio format.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Supercharged ParanoidAndroid 2.12
Dorimanx kernel 5.76B
GT I9100
Next phone: Galaxy NOTE II

I tried to transfer it with mass storage but it did'nt work. then I tried to tranfer with kies but it didn't work either. I could'n even send it via bluethooth or email. also it doesn't move from one folder to another, I guess there is a trouble while copying. I want to download it so I can somehow copy it in my computer

I used “Es File Explorer” to move to shared folder. File was moved, but size was 0 KB, and in my phone file size is shown as 5 MB. I tried to move it by using several softwares but could not be moved. As is think, something makes forbid for moving, I also resetted my phone bun no result again. Is any software to help me to access with files? Or Does any version of “Android System Recovery” have possibility of copping? Becouse to move to another folder and then copy to my computer.

You could try an ADB pull to download the file to your computer.
Want to transfer data from old Motorola to Galaxy S4. I was able to transfer everything from phone to PC, but don't know where to drop it on the Galaxy S4. When I plug in the USB, I have a choice either camera or media device. Both "Card" and "Phone" directories show up in Windows Explorer. I just am not familiar with the file structuring. I do have Astro and ES File Explorer. Read somewhere Astro wouldn't let you get to the root folder. I just need to know where to put some of the files. I understand there is a difference in phones and some of it won't transfer. Samsung has a transfer tool that will transfer from LG, Blackberry, Nokia and iPhone, but not Motorola. If it can't be done then it can't be done. Thanks in advance.
Hello
I am using a Samsung grand quattro (Model No. i 8552) andriod version 4.1.2.
To hide few personal pics, i was using audio manger version 3.2, My folders are missing, i had stored them on the phone rom.
to recover the deleted pics & audio files I tried using recuva but it doesnt detect the phone rom.
To enable the usb mass storage system I have to root the phone which i am not able to it,
Isnt there an simple method to recover the deleted pics & audio files from Phone rom.
Can anyone help me regarding this I would be very very grateful to him or her.
Why you are not able to root it?
I would suggest to use another file explorer, maybe the program just hid your folder(s) and you are not able to see on stock file explorer
Cwm Recovery
Did you try cwm recovery through odin
Did you deleted them? if not then open My Files (default file manager) and check here
Code:
/storage/sdcard0/ProgramData/Android/Language/.fr/Pictures/
if you deleted them from Audio Manager then you may try File Scavenger to recover them.
I am use phone of oppo A37 so my hide app audio manager is deleted suddenly
my many pics in this folder so i'm recover my image
