I tried a rom with TW a little while ago on my wifi tab and noticed that the battery drained much faster when it was idling than on stock honeycomb. Has anybody noticed the same thing occurring with more recent TW roms?

ok m done with this battery and free ram issue, my battery life is draining so fast on any of the JB roms, its like 1% on 30sec screen on.
i turned back to try ics(criskelo v6) while the rom is great, i get also a good battery i guess, around 7hours screen on, 6 hours of videos and virtually unlimited standby time. the only cons here is that i have 704mb used out of 784mb , also i removed touchwiz, live wallpapers and some bloatwares.
note that checking battery life and ram usage is done with no apps installation, just on the default roms apps. no special app draining battery.
also, battery is taking over 4 hours to fully charge from 10%, even while the device is powered down and on ac charger.
on JB roms like (omega and criskello) battery is draining super fast and charge super slow, but i have over 250mb free rams, on the other side, on AOSP roms (paranoid) battery life is better than other samsung JB based roms, but i get only 100mb free rams.
ok i want to stick with ICS roms for now, seems like JB roms are not stable till now, but also i still have this free ram issue in any rom, any suggestion for this problem,
-is it a kernel problem?
-is it my battery problem?
Try searching for "free RAM" on the forum and read a few of the literally thousands of posts about it.
Short version; don't care about it. Android reports free RAM different from Windows and BSD-based systems (including OsX/iOS), so it confuses users.
Battery life is an issue with JB, true. It'sbetter with the new Siyahkernel but still completely random and not great.
Hi,
is there any possibility to check battery health?
Since flashing JB 4.2.1 weeks ago battery life decreased and is getting even worse. No wakelocks, bbs is looking fine. Tried mcm's cm10.1, official cm.10.1 and Slim Bean RC2 with stock kernel, Siyah 5 and Dorimanx. With light use and less than 2 hours screen on time battery lasts one day. No big difference if reception is good or bad. Media scanner is fine too. The phone is more than one year old.

Plenty of topics on battery, use search.
All those topics are about people who are not able to setup their phones properly, but not about the physical battery
Almost every battey stats app you can download from the market can tell you battery health (very inaccurately).
If you're getting bad battery life though, the chance of it being an "unhealthy" battery are very low. Infact, on every ROM/Kernel you've listed I've had poor battery, I only get a good run on stock - there is way more to battery life than just wakelocks.
I'll keep it short. If WIFI is enabled battery is 100% drained for about 7-8 hours. If WIFI is disabled it lasts around 13-14 hours on complete standby and maximum power saving..still underperforms compared to before the JellyBean upgrade. Has anyone come up for a solution for this?
Some reported better battery life with wifi on because of a router tweak.
We all get eaten up by it.

@halninethousand
Flash custom stock rom that come with tweaks and removed bloatware apps.
That won't fix the wifi drainage.

Hello All
Need help please. I flashed resurrection Remix 4.4.2 rom to my Galaxy S3 that had stock Android 4.3 JB on it. All functions seem to be working flawlessly after the flash, but only battery usage seems to be a bit high. App using high battery show clock signification portion of the charge. Is this normal? Does clock take that much charge? I have disabled it for now and force stopped it.
Attached is a screenshot of the battery usage by different app. Phone disconnected from charge a 73%. At 18% just around 10 hours.

Problem solved on its own. But still battery consumption looks marginally high. I guess I can live with it thanks to super high speed performance now. On stock samsung stock andriod, gallery used to take 5-6 seconds to open. But it just takes a second or two. Awesome performance
Hey guys, i'm just wondering which rom and kernel has gotten the best battery life out of your ZU so far.
I've tried nearly every rom on here, the usual cpu and profile apps along with doomkernel in various combinations, and honestly the stock 757 with stock kernel has yielded the best battery life for me so far. When the screen is off it drops 1% every 9 hours!
Tho the biggie for me (since I use this app everyday) is Tune In radio. I use it to replace our radio at work pretty much all day, so the constant use of the data connection is a big test. On stock rom and kernel (starting at 9am on 100% charge) I usually have about 30-40% battery left after 8 and a bit hours of constant music streaming off of the 3G connection. Using doomkernel in different combos (custom rom with doomkernel, custom rom without, stock 757 with doomkernel etc) the phone usually died by the end of the day, if it wasn't it was in the red.
I'm not sure what seemed to be causing such a drain using those other roms and kernels but this has been a pretty consistent result for my handset. What has everyone else been experiencing?
