[Q] (req)Browser:Unsupported file ): - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello
this problem have been bothering me for a long time and i wanted to ask if there is a fix availeble or if anyone would kinldy make one
the problem is the Webbrowser which currently cant download all filetypes.
example when i try to download a zip or apk file i get unsupported file and would then need to get firefox or another browser to download the file, which i would like not too as i think the stock browser is best
best regards.

Use dolphin HD or Firefox. Stock browser wont dl certain .zip files. Stock is by far not the best.
Using Dolphin HD since day one.

Idk if you're on gingerbread but that seemed to allow all file types to be downloaded on my phone

Download androzip file manager. Then you can still use stock browser and download zip files.

Same from UK ROM here on the forum? I just flashed mine with it yesterday, this comes really handy!
Thanks!
Thanks, it was a great idea to upload the system apps!!! it helped me a lot.
Thank you so much for the upload!I have a nordic x10mini pro and accidentally (bad advice) deleted the Sync.apk.
I have two questions I hope someone can be so kind to help me with.
Will I be able to install the Sync.apk from this upload on my phone?
How should I install the apk, I have seen posts with push commands, should I also "sign" the apk?
Thanks, Poul
Just put the apk file on your SD-card, then download astro file manager or root explorer from Android market. And then use astro or root explorer, to find the file on your SD-card and install it.
Good luck.
THX for this pack

THX! totally awesome, great share!!
Can you upload pack aplications from ROM CZ,PL,SK?
Tried downloading this from RapidShare, MegaUpload, zShare & DepositFiles, the first three failed with partial downloads (2x ~850Kb, 1x ~11Mb), DepositFiles seems to have stalled at 12.8Mb.
Anyone got this as a torrent, or a download from a site that actually works? Happy to accept a split RAR or ZIP via email
Hello guys anyone knows how to recompress an apk file from another phone in order to make it work on the mighty mini?
Solved - I used IE.

Hi.. Thanks for your efforts, but this download link is bugy. After all warnings from 3 different net watchers WOT, Siteadvisor and webutation, you go their and they redirect to a link where you must download their downloader http://download.downloadsetup.net/iLividSetup.exe
Can you please re-upload it to some friendly hosting site?
Thank you.

What happened to LG stock internet browser?

Just upgraded from T-Mobile LG G stylo to V10. I used to dual window Chrome and LG Internet browser, but now I guess LG opted to get rid of its proprietary browser on the new V10. I tried installing an extracted apk from one of the G4 forums but it fails. Does anyone know of another browser that will dual window with Chrome?
Do you mean the browser shown here in the top right?
Stock v10, was there out of the box
My tmobile v10 does not have the stock browser either.

I am using the unlocked version and it does not have the default browser. Only Chrome.

+1 my tmobile v10 didn't come with anything but chrome .

Hi
H960 int varient has the browser on my device
No root is yet available for H960. Can I extract apk for you without root? If so tell me how and I'll be happy to do that.
I managed to extract it using es browser, hope it works for you guys
Just remove the postfix ".apk" from the .systag file
I'm not aware of a way to extract the browser without root.

I have H960
Did a google search and one way is to backup app using ES Browser, it extracts the apk into the backup folder :victory:
Apk attached in my previous post
Not in the Verizonremo model either, think they started removing it starting with the G2.

Thank you for uploading the browser apk. Unfortunately, I get the same "X Application not installed" result after the screen where it gives you the privacy and device access warnings.
I see 2 possible reasons for not succeeding to install:
1. Try changing the file name to "browser.apk". I'm not sure but this might work.
2. Try one of these methods for installing a sys app without root, as these is a sys app maybe it needs sys permissions to work
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-any-app-as-system-app-on-android/
If the app was pulled from a stock ROM, might there be an odex file or 2 missing from the apk?
I also have systag file, attached. Just delete the .apk at the end, can't upload file here with .systag postfix

Still no solution?

Can somebody help me with this firmware download?

Hi, i'm having some issues with this official Samsung firmware download (Lollipop 5.0.1). (from Sammobile.com)
My problem, mainly, is the speed/instability of my internet connection. Yes, problems of the third world, I live in Venezuela; So I want to see who can help me with the download of this ROM, and, for example, upload it as a Torrent file (would be the most optimal solution), or simply upload it to a service like Mediafire, Mega, etc. So I can download it easily. I would be grateful if you would help me, as I urgently need it. Thank you.
Since I cannot post links, first I just need you to tell me if any of you can help me; Then, I can share the link via email, for example. I leave it under your choice :good:
Hi. You could try download from updato. They got official Samsung firmwares just like sammobile, but with fast download without registration.

Thanks, man. It's a nice choice, but download stops before reaching half of it
The same happened with sammobile ones. And the worst thing is that downloads cannot be resumed.
The only solution seems to be to download the firmware as a torrent, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

You can use Ninja Download Manager (https://ninjadownloadmanager.com/download-free/) - it has helped me whenever I faced broken/failed downloads.

Thanks, I'll consider this option to be able to face future file download issues. But i've found a solution: a software called SamFirm.
It allows you to download Samsung official firmware downloads, and when a problem like the one that has occurred to me happens, solves it by appending corrupt downloaded file with the rest of it, that, obviously will start downloading instantly. No need to re-download all the entire file, just the necessary fragments.
