Battery has to be false. - Motorola Droid X2

my phone has said 5% since about 3:30 pm Central its now 4:20pm and I've been streaming netflix and music to try and kill it off and it has not died I've played the nfs shift game and lets golf 2 that comes preloaded I've sent texts browsed the web and this is acting like it has a lot more juice in and I've wiped batt stat multiple times I've used the battery calibrater app and it doesn't change a thing so this must have a false battery stat reader any of you noticed this?

I have noticed that it also skips, like mine was at 40% for ever then 30% for 1 min then 20% for ever etc

Its been 2 hours since it said 5% and its still up and running Ive been trying to kill now for those 2 hours.

Try using BatteryCalibration from the Market and see if that helps. It basically resets your battery history and is recommended to do every time you update or flash a new ROM. Hope this helps!

Reason is you need to do more than just use that app to calibrate
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11803458#post11803458
That app doesn't complete the calibrating process.

Take the battery out for a bit?, try to put it on a charger?

You mean this?
9. Use your phone normally while you calibrate the battery
You have to use the phone till it reaches full capacity.

No. I read the gist and realized I had the same issues before I used it.

This callibration thing has been driving me nuts too... I quit callibrating and now and I just follow battery voltage (the bat stat widget). My extended battery keeps working until it drops below 3.6 V... usually by then I've been on "5%" for a few hours...

if you made it readable you might get more help
try charging it to 100%, calibrating the battery, letting it die, and then recharge it to 100% without any interruptions.

Difference???
Download the Battery Calibration app from the market and follow its instructions.
Also, go to the battery settings and look up what's eating so much battery.
I've read before that Motoblur Social Networking service can misbehave and slaughter the battery.

If i were you i would do a factory restore. No, actually if i were you i would flash a ROM that allows bypassing motoblur login (like NinjaFC).

Erratic battery reporting on 2.3.4 update

I flashed the newest update (2.3.4) this last weekend and although its been great with battery life, I cant seem to get the actual reporting to settle in.
When I take it off the charger its reporting 100%, and throughout
the day it obviously drains the battery. The problem is when I reboot the phone, it starts back up reporting 10-20% higher battery life then when I shut it down. So in reality, I have more battery life left then whats being reported.
I charged to 100% and wiped battery stats using bootstrap. Then drained the battery all the way, and charged all the way back to a full charge.
Can you guys think of anything else that may fix this issue?

I just don't reboot as often now, can't say I've noticed any problems other than that. My battery life has been excellent!

Indeed it will, anything built from the 2.3.4 update will have the bug unless devs find a way to properly fix it.
i hope a fix comes soon but it pry won't be from motorola. i don't see them sending out an update just for one issue unless they have some other issues to fix that i haven't heard about yet. hopefully sooner than later
I have this also, as well as random reboots.
2.3.4 didn't really do much for me, the only real difference I notice were that random reboots now happen every 2 or 3 days instead of every day.
ya that's not good, the update was supposed to stop that. they've been doing these updates and creating the OS for all these devices for so long now id think they would have it pretty much down by now. maybe they need to do more testing before releases...idk...

This is what has worked for me every time no matter if stock rooted or any other custom rom..... and I do this switching back and fourth between extended and stock battery..... you must be rooted.... atleast i was.
get the battery monitor widget from the market. In the setting you can change the ma rating of the battery you are using. Once you have done that click on stats in the app and it'll clear battery stats. Reboot phone go into app and clear stats again. That should be it. When I had clokworkmod installed on the reboot id clear battery stats in there as well.
This has worked for me time and time again.

I believe it's in the app he mentions. The "wipe battery stats" option is also in the advanced menu of CWM (clockwork mod). If you do not have a custom recovery installed just disregard that part as bootstrap does not have it.

Battery issue after root( how to fix)

Ok, after I rooted I seem to be having a strange. Battery issue .. anyone have a fix for this? (I user antutu to control CPU and for now I'm busting using it to monitor+ dropped my phone iinto eco mode ( where it usually is) I can counter bat loss by doing the normal stuff but I never had to do.anything other then turn off data before... and even then... but from 10:50 pm to 2:40 am the phone went from 90% to 12% . And that was ..( eco was off) lol ... but I have never had that happen. Before even with that.
Thanks for any advice

Right after I rooted mine I had terrible battery as well. I ended up reformatting (not wipe, actually formatting my system and caches) and then installed my rom again, fixed permissions and my battery life has been amazing. If I don't use the phone my battery maybe drains five percent all day long. If I use it a lot it will last most of the day as well.

The other thing you should check is you fast dormancy.
If you're flashing custom ROMs it's best to do it at a FULL 100% charge. In the past, before I started doing this, I had major battery life "problems." My phone would drop from 100 to 1 in a matter of hours and just hang on 1% for hours on end. If you haven't done this, download Battery Calibration, turn off your device and plug it in. Once it reaches 100%, turn the device on, run the app, and restart your device WHILE STILL PLUGGED IN. Once everything settles you should be good to go.

Only getting about 4-5 hours of Screen-on time? This might help!

Hi.
I am used to get about 4h30min-5 hours max but after doing this little trick I am getting 3 hours 20 minutes with 55% battery left.
The trick is to go into settings- apps- all, find android system and force close it. Don't worry, it will start up again immediately but the battery draining process seem to be killed.
Android OS is no longer the one causing the most battery drain. Android system has settled down too. Check it out!
(It seems like I got another problem to solve - Facebook is draining a whole lot now cos it's using the GPS. Still getting amazing battery life though!)

Coming from a Droid RAZR, you learn a lot of tricks to milk battery life. Trust me, the things I had to do to get those numbers aren't worth it. The drop off in the battery graph is when I got home and was able to turn everything back on and use it normally.
Right now, I average 18 hrs battery, and 5 hrs screen-on:
I am on stock ROM 11A.
Rooted and TWRP
Screen brightness set to auto/60% max
GPS and WiFi toggled on when I need it.
Everything on EXCEPT WiFi and Verizon location services
No disabled or frozen system apps or processes.
4 push emails.
I average 600 texts a month.
I average 6-8 GB on 4G a month.

For your Facebook GPS wakelock, let it connect and lock onto your GPS and the wakelock should stop. If you're closing up Facebook before it has a chance to lock, it will create the wakelock. If you don't want FB to connect to your GPS, make sure GPS is off before you open FB. Also, turning off GPS while in FB before it can lock will create the wakelock as well.

Actually, the numbers are legit. I will admit though, I've never been able to get close to that again. My average when I first got the phone was between 6-7 hours screen on time and about 12 hours battery life. Those 2 days, I just happened to be working massive overtime. Almost all of the screen on time was the second day. The dropoff on the graph was when I got home, turned everything on, and actually used it. It also helped that my work provides me a work phone which I was using during that time instead.
I have tried to hit those numbers again, but I can't, it was a one time deal which is why I took a screenshot. In my head, I'm telling my self that the battery is starting to get worn, but the truth is, I can't put it down long enough or put up with all of the disabled features.
The best I've been able to do since then is 18 hours battery life, about 3 hours screen on. And, 7 hours screen on, 10 hours battery. At this point, I no longer care. I'm happy with my 15 hours battery and 4-5 hours screen on.
It would be more if the battery wasn't starting to wear out....

You have to do this whenever you reboot your phone. I usually turn my phone off, charge it and then turn it on. The first thing I do after putting my pin code in, is to force close andros system.
