I have upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 from samfirmware(KPN) but it looks to me that it is slow, animations are slow and I am not satisfied with overall performance. Does anyone else has the same problem and what can be done about it?

what, in your opinion is the fastest android rom for the xperia x10 that uses baseband 2.1.54...looking for responsiveness and overall speed
beta 4 by far... What else is there really that uses that baseband besides stock?
even more so than cyanogen?...also what is there faster that doesn't use that baseband?
I currently have FroydVillain 1.7.2 rom on my phone.
I want to try something else because I had some problems with it.
Sometimes the phone is laggy, the messages load time is really slow, sometimes I don't get call and can't make them( ex: someone call me and it does the same thing as if my phone was closed), youtube problems and many other things.
Still there is some things I like about it, the quality of the camera(not really the interface), the easy user interface ( don't really like that half circle in other version), and other things.
So for a guy like me, who dosen't use his phone to play with it or you know, mess with the cpu (and other things like that) what other rom would you advise me.
(I would still like to have something with Android version 2.2.1 or newer, don't know the difference between each but I don't want to have less options or I don't know what)
Thanks.
+ The battery die fast.
In my opinion floyo 1.2 is the best 2.2 rom. no matter what i flash i always end up coming back to it.
I'm using Elelinux's latest Hero ROM, which is very smooth and stable so far. Also, since it's based on CM7 (Android 2.3), you can theme the hell out of it if you like.
Compared to the FroydVillains I've used in the past it maybe isn't quite as fast, but the difference is minimal. Although if you really need some speed, this 2.2-based rom is probably the way to go.
Try some of the latest Gingerbread ROMs. Very smooth and good battery life. If you absolutely must have Froyo, you're not going to find much that improves on what you've already got.

Cronos is another good Gingerbread ROM as well.
my choice:
2.1 : Sense rom for sure, elelinux's repack is good
2.2 : floyo 1.2, really great!
2.3 : elelinux's one, but with andriod 2.3.2 or before
going to try out the new android 2.3 with sense! hope i will stick on it after
you could try out the wildfire port of gingerbread with sense 2.1. its really cool and quite smooth!
Nothing better than nightly CyanogenMod 7.1! No more invisible menus and it is fast loading ^^

Heyy, was wondering what the fastest ROM going is atm. I'm really not too bothered about Sense or any other additions, I'm just looking for something that's speedy with as little lag as possible when opening apps from the launcher and when typing.
What're my options (I'm not too bothered what version)?
VR12 Android 2.1 with Sense.
try villainRom 13 its quite fast
Faster than something like CM6 or something based on CM6 like Elelinux?
I'm currently running FroydVillain 1.7 (Android 2.2) . It's stable and pretty fast.
I'm using VR13... Pretty nice.
Hey guys,
I recently flashed back to a stock ROM to do some research. That was the moment when I found out that flash videos in stock browser ran just horrible. Scrolling is still smooth though, but the videos themselves just seem to run at a very low framerate, alot of frameskips, too. This really bothers me and I don't know how to tackle that issue. When I got my beloved SGS2, flash videos ran buttery smooth in stock browser, even at 1080p.
Anybody else with that problem? Any known solution?
Hey.
Typing on CM7 is so smooth and fast, compared to stock.....
I mean that there is no lag or sometime the keyboard stutters while typing fast for me on checkrom or stock rom.
I am using gingerbread keyboard, I have tried both the market and the one that comes in the kitchen app, and both of them are not as smooth and fast as the CM7 keyboard.
Someone know why that is?
lag isn not only in KB.. it lags like hell while trying one contacts and message app..
samsung stock roms are crap
I use roms based on stock releases and never suffer lag. Try different roms or kernels.

No lag here on my rom (stock rooted with siyah kernel and removed Samsung bloatware hubs).

I'd say the opposite. CM7 is crap and laggy compared to stock roms. Though I always use custom roms based on samsung firmware.
CM7 can't match the speed of it.
I can't say about the keyboard, maybe it's faster on CM7.
for me custom roms are slower than stock samsung roms
the smoothest stock rom ive used is the KJ2 rom
cm7 is also pretty amazing almost fast as KJ2
currently using cm9
nothing is faster
