[Q] Please Help w/ Baseband Pleeeaaaaassse - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I'm stuck on baseband 49 and I have broken the micro usb slot, so I have two questions.
1) Is there any way to upgrade to a higher baseband without the usb slot ?
2) Does anyone make a good Rom that is compatible with this baseband ? If so which one ? Maybe an older version of a current Rom ?
Sorry if this thread has been done before, I searched. Thanks a lot !

Nothing?

Not that I know of.. But since you're upgrading your baseband to a higher one by using Flashtool, how would you connect it if the USB slot is broken?

If you are on stock room at this moment... I think that u can get stock updates over the air.. not so sure thou, you can always try to fix that broken usb port thou
Anyway if u can get stock updates over the air... GB update comes with BB 71 so u will be ok...

Im not on a stock rom, im on a Arc rom from a month or two ago that was compatible with bb 49. Thanks though.

it never works...
if your phone is rooted you can do it with xrecovery
You can only apply dualtouch with USB or OTA.
It is not possible via xRecovery sorry.

Ota never tells me when an update is available but when I plug it into seus then low and behold an update exists! Still on stock android but rooted until a stable 2.2 or even 2.3 becomes available with everything working.e.g camera and camcorder.thanks for all the help.looks like an ebay order for a data cable is needed.

Hello,
I have p500(indian) on old baseband and want to upgrade to new bb using lgmdp.. following are a few questions that i dint find an answer to.
1.what is the risk of having a bricked device if i turn off lg virtual modem..?
2. th lg virtual modem is shown as lge android platform usb modem.. is it the same..?
3. What rom and recovery should i be on to flash new baseband?
4. can i flash cm9 first and then new baseband?
5.my recovery takes around 5 seconds to show the options... it wasnt like this before.. is this normal? im on the recovery i firrst installed(amonra 1.2 the one with bad boot message)
6.before flashing a recovery zip or cwm from rom manger what precautions should i take?
7.In rom manager if i say install recovery.. it shows p500 and p500(oldbb) so if i flash old bb now and then upgrade.. will it work?
8. if flash the one without (oldbb) will my phone get bricked..?
Thanks for your answers in advance.. p500 was the best phone i got in my life.. and its not because of lg.. its because of its awesome community.!
> when i was on stock as you
> 1st I rooted ,this is A MUST 1st to do
> 2nd flash clockworkmod or amonra.. but cwm would be good for starters, just download rom manager at play store.. and u'll get it
> 3rd since ur on old baseband.. i suggest you flash cm7 rom or the on i modded then flash the old baseband fix so you dont need to upgrade
> incase you want to upgrade so u can also use cm9
> now is the time to use lgmdp .. Em not sure.. but i think its different ..virtual modem wasnt there when i switched baseband so i did not disabled any..

Well there are many tutorials out there on how to get new bb. Just follow them step by step. You have to flash it first then you can get CM9. Forgive me but some of your question sound like this "Will my phone work if I submerge half of it in water?". Don't worry just do as you're told on the tutorials All the best!

There is definitely a risk, and you have to follow the instructions clearly to avoid any risks. To be honest here, I bricked my phone thrice (yes! 3 times) using kdz updater. That's why I'd suggest that you don't upgrade to new bb using kdz updater

The only and most secure thing i have to prefer u to flash official froyo 2.2.2 on ur phone first... if u already using it then its ok... n if not then search a official froyo rom in zip format for flashing it via cwm recovery... after then... use lg pc suite for upgrading it to official 2.3.3 n ur phone will automatically updated to new bb too.
EDIT: Just clarify me what rom n recovery are u using...!?? What android version and baseband shows on ur phone....
Type in phone dialer to get BB details

Flashing new Baseband from SDcard

Is it possible to flash the new baseband from the SD card? My LG Optimus One will not be detected by windows. It's not that it can't find the drivers, windows does not see the device. I've tried 3 different USB cables and two different computers to no avail. I asked around and people told me my PCB needs to be replaced. Unforunately my phone is out of warranty, so I was wondering if there is any other way to flash to the new baseband without having to deal with a usb cable?
NO!

YOU SAVE MY TIME..
AWESOME..!!!!
when installing CM9, there's no gsm data,
they say.. the only way is change the baseband to the newer one..(v20)
googling everwhere..
i tried to update baseband via LGMDP.exe or official updater from LG..
but NONE of them works.. because the computer didn't recognize the O1 port.
but your flashable zip is just plain AWESOME..
thank you very much..
IT WORKS without doing stupid complicated things with LGMDP.. :good:
? Flashed this but didn't change in " about phone" does it just not say it changes

Xperia mini reboot's when connecting 2g

Hello to you all. I have a bit strange problem wich i cant find solution,so if someone could please help me?
When i try to connect my phone to 2g only it just loose signal and starts rebooting endless. Then i need to pool out sim card and switch to wcdma only and than is ok! If i put wcdma pref /gms it is working but when loss of 3g signal,it reboots and goes back on 3g. So if im in loss of 3g my phone is usselles! It only happens when trying to connect to 2g! I tryed everything but it wont stuck on 2g. I searched forum over and over before posting, but could not find this particular problem! 3g or wcdma works fine! Please someone? Thank you.
Just one thing to add if i update to ics and set to 2g only then there is no continuos reboot, and no need to take out sim, then just reboots once and goes back to 3g automaticly newhereless that it was only 2g set. What is happening here?

Is your bootloader locked and are you on stock rom? If yes, bring it to a local service center or send it to service :good:
So you dont think it has any firmware or software issue? What could be wrong with the hardware? Any suggestions?

It could be a software issue, but not on stock rom/kernel, so if you are on stock, send it to service (if it's under warranty)

Okay, if it's not under warranty, flash for example gb stock ftf with flashtool, if this won't work, unlock the bootloader (if you have no warranty like you said), flash a custom kernel and a custom rom
Just one more question and i wont bother you anny more! Which custom rom would you suggest to me,that is stable and also not battery eater because im on 3g all the time as you know and that is bad enough! Thank you for your answers and for taking time trying to help me!

I would use a MIUI rom -> great functions and fast, but on unlocked bootloader (if you want to unlock) you could use cyanogenmod (9 for example) :good:
So just to resume and not tu bother you any more. If i am runing 4.0.2.A.062 with unlocked bootloader and custom kernel and rom, i just download miui rom and flash it with flashtool? No need for custom kernel to download or it is included with miui rom download? Sorry for all these questions, but you were only bothering to answer me so i have to ask you

No, it's more complicated. For MIUI you needn't unlock your bootloader.
1. Root your device (how to is in the sticked rooting guide)
2. For an ics custom rom keep root to ics (how to upgrade to ics and keep rooted is in the rooting guide, too), for gb custom rom stay on gingerbread
3. You can just find a MIUI rom for locked bootloader and copy the zip to your sd card.
4. Install clockworkmod recovery (cwm) with an app like xparts (xperia parts) from playstore
5. Boot in cwm, go to backup/restore -> backup and it will backup everything (system, data, cache, only sd card won't be saved)
6. Wipe data/Factory reset
7. install zip from sd card -> choose zip -> miui.xxx.zip -> yes, install it
8. Reboot
Everything is explained in the sticked threads and in the guide how to install custom roms/kernels in my signature.
Just ask if you have questions, we like to help you, there are no silly questions (only if they are so easy to answer)

I personally think it's quite weird you don't press the thanks button for TheATHEiST, but when you get an answer you like you actually do. These all are the basic questions when it comes to rooting and flashing etc., and you clearly didn't seem to take the effort to read and search for yourself.
