- @xrecovery connect with adb shell
- enter this script
rm -r /sdcard
mkdir sdcard
chmod 777 sdcard
-go install what you want to installed
it worked for me, but what I did wrong to get to this?

I had the same problem and i fixed it by updating the Xrecovery to v0.3 .
Found here ;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571
Put the xRecovery v0.3 zip on your sdcard and rename it to update.zip
Then install the update.zip in your current xRecovery. Somehow my old xRecovery could read the update.zip and it worked.
I had tha same problem. My was resolved with a stock firmware downgrade. I've flashed my X10 with stock 2.1 ROM and after that i did rooting, kernel upgrade, xrecovery instalation..step by step. Everything is working fine for me rightnow.
Who can not succed with other methods, can try mine.
Sorry for my bad english

Evening Folks,
Hoping someone can help. I've been trying to install a custom rom onto my mini pro (Any custom rom!). Done a lot of reading and have managed to root my phone but am now stuck when trying to install xrecovery and CWM.
I've put xrecovery, busybox, chargemon and the cwm zip file onto my sdcard. I've been trying to move busybox, chargemon and xrecovery to the /system/bin directory using Super Manager. But it keeps telling me I do not have enough space, even tho I have 150mb internal space free on the phone. As far as I can tell the three files I need to move are less than 1mb and I've deleted just about everything I trust myself to delete.
ALong the way I managed to muck up the google acount password and ended up resetting the phone to the factory defaults, so there is nothing on it. Currently the only downloaded apps are Root Checker, Super Manager and SuperUser.
So I'm hoping one of you fine chaps, and chapetts, is going to be able to point out the stupid mistake I'm making.
I have to escape sooon, so will not be able to reply util tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
SteveG
You realise the /system partition is seprate from the /data partition, so internal free space does not mean free space on the system partition. And did you remount the system partition yet? (This command in terminal emulator: mount -o remount,rw /system) Or you could simply use root explorer and save lots of trouble figuring out the terminal.
i would advise you to install xrecovery via aais, it is quite simple; download aais and put on your sd, download terminal emulator from the market (needs root, you are rooted you say so that is fine) type the commands:
su (start superuser, click allow)
cd sdcard/aais
sh install.sh (now you see the menu)
type 0 for installing xrecovery. phone will reboot and you're done. Download cwm for recovery.zip from xda and install cwm via xrecovery, now you can install custom roms.

Ah, no I didnt realise that. Anyway I can tell how much space in the system partition? Any reason why it should be full after a factory reset? If it is full, any suggestions?

From the market? Hehe, I didnt know what this was so I googled it. Found myself at the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors. Strangley enough very little about Android on their website.

If I do this where does the xrecovery file need to be for the install?
Thanks for replying guys. You have givne me some suggestions for the way forwards.

AAIS is an automatic installer for xrecovery, sorry..was not clear enough apparently. You can find it here on xda (xrecovery automatic installation script or something like that) and works like a charm! No need to copy files yourself, run the script and you'll have xrecovery, afterwards install cwm via xrecovery..simple as that
AAIS did the trick (Although I had to use a magnifyng glass to use the terminal emulator. Currently waiting for the rom to finish installing.
Thanks for your help
been trying to update to wolfs rom, but lame thing is xrecovery, cant find way to get it to fully working version that allows me to install the rom, instead just wont load up the sdcard
have gotroot access, busybox installed, flashtool works no problem now just this last stage now is getting to the end of my tether
I have got root explorer so can copy over files to system if needs be, but am now stuck, as have already tried the method of copying files over to update xrecovery, also could not see where adb shell is to run the commands that ive seen so am stuck there
any help would be appreciated
What I recomend that you do is flash back to 2.1 using flashtool, then root, install xRecovery, and then follow the instructions in wolfs thread. That's worked for me and many others. Goodluck

hi, running GB 2.3.3 baseband 2.1.71 build #3.0.1g.0.75
Using flash tool I rooted and installed xrecovery........that went easy.
So I decided to ugrade to wolf 6.0. this is where it got ugly.
I follwed the instructions to back up. Then Factory Reset (Full wipe)
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
no problems.
however I cannot load the zip I get this
I get the message E:Catnt mount /dev/block/macblk0p1(or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(device or resource busy)
E:cant mount sdcard:wolf_experia_6.0.0szip
Installation aborted
Now when I try to load the back up I get the same answer.
Someone suggested formatting the SD card so i tried that. Still no go.
So I have tried this numerous times and continuously get the same message.
Any ideas? Thank you

Hi, the phone works fine, I tried the above and the same results unfortunately.
Hi
Same, exactly same problem here, when trying to install custom rom (Wolf's) from xrecovery.
cant mount sdcard:wolf_experia_6.0.0s.zip
Installation aborted
I read something with xrecovery 0.3 gb but I have it.
Any solutions?
P.S.
After failing istalling custom rom from xrecovery, I can not boot any more to xrecovery. I had to run SEUS to install stock rom from start.

You guys can go to zdizhu's page for the latest xRecovery gb fix, and just use root explorer to copy the files in that zip to the corresponding directories.
Do you mean, manualy copy 4 files from xRecovery-0.3_GBradley.zip to bin and sbin directories, overwriting old ones?
chargemon 1kb
charger 36kb to system/bin
and
sh 402kb
xrecovery.tar 1288kb to system/xbin

flash via cwm installed in rom!
what do you mean paul.. im just flash it on my MiniCm7 pro v16? on cwm3?
ClockworkMod v3.2.0.0-r5
Only for clarification sir paul.. Im going to Flash V20 on my current rom which is V16. before i Flash it using CWM3 do i need to wipe all like the dalvik, battery stats etc..
I had a Clockworkmod "v3.2.0.0-r3" not V3.2.0.0-r5.. is it ok to flash the miniCm7 v20?
My device:
Vpad7 w/ Android 2.2.1
Baseband version PR3.7_125
Kernel version Apps_2.6.32.9
Build number 1008_3_240
SWVer=3.240
Model: FM6-0001
HWVer=107
Desired ROM: EUViewpad7v1.7b-ITE
I tried to follow the [READ FIRST] Vpad7 Dev's thread.
1- Root was ok, su successful (SOC 1.7 and antivirus off);
2- Copied all partitions to sdcard was ok;
3- Error copying flash_image to /system/bin (read-only file system)
solved with:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
cp /sdcard/flash_image /system/bin
chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
flash_image recovery /sdcard/cwrecovery.img
4- EUViewpad7v1.7b-ITE.zip copied into sdcard and renamed to update.zip;
5- Backup stock ROM on dev's recovery mode ok;
6- Select 'apply sdcard: update.zip' on dev's recovery mode, with success;
After reboot, the VP7 shows the 3 birds logo, and after that shows an endless animation, on which is a kind of telephone's cabin flying through a cloud tunnel. (no, i'dont use drugs!). The android's graphic interface isn't loaded.
I restored rom bkp from sdcard by dev's recovery mode with success.
Could I use the EUVpad7v1.7b without a previous EUVpad7v1.7 ?
What's going wrong?
It takes a while to load first time. For me it did. I also had a problem like that and had to mount system with latest CMW

My CWM's version is 2.5.1.2
I'll try a newer one.
I tried w/ the CWM 5.0.2.6, but after "flash_image recovery /sdcard/cwrecovery i've got an error (No space left on device).
When i use the CWM 2.5.1.2 (from XDA dev's tutorial), flash_image recovery is completed with success.
Is there an intermediate version that solve this issue?
thanks!

That's it!
We get, but when i start the recovery mode on VP7, the CWM version shown is 2.5.1.2 yet! As a newbie i thought to install a new CWM only the "flash_image recovery /sdcard/cwrecovery.img" command was necessary to.
I didn't forget to copy new cwm (downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288223 - is it the rigth version?) to sdcard.
Do you have an idea to apply that change?

Yeah!
I gave up to change CWM version. After searching here, i found a very good step by step for newbies (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224825). My 2.5.1.2 CWM has worked fine!
The problem is that i was forgetting to create the ext partition to App2SD, probably.
Thread closed.
CWM Newer than 2.5 maybe cause of some error.
