I'm on stock wifi 3.1 and I downloaded the update package. I now keep getting the reminder to install it. Is there a way I can stop it from reminding me to install or can I just delete the update. I don't know where it downloaded too to delete it. I prefer running stock for the better video playback. Until a custom rom comes with it enabled.

Im running GinnTazz Gingerbread and i am trying to download applications from market.android.com. However, the market is not recognizing my phone for the permissions they are. I am 2.3.4 however i am not able to download an application like the Music app from Google. It just gives me the error, "this application is not compatible with your device". I thought perhaps it could be that i am running a custom rom but the highest Stock rom available is 2.1 which isnt high enough to be useful for downloading the newer applications. Should i reflash a different rom that is capable of presenting itself as....maybe a Nexus S so that i can have the permissions i need?
Thanks in advance.

It's pretty well-known that the new Music app will not install to the Eris from the market. There are .apk downloads floating about - you'll have to install it that way.
If you want to try altering the build.prop to see if the app will be visible in the market, you can follow the instructions for tricking the Netflix app into installing onto a rooted phone here: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...rk-on-your-unsupported-rooted-android-device/
(Note: I did try this on a CM7 phone for Netflix, and the app started, but would immediately close when you tried to load a movie. Also, the app was 21 MB without data. I never tried the Google music app, though. Remember to Nandroid backup before you do this, though.)
Posted this in Android Software and Hacking General but no responses, so posting here as well. Hope that's OK.
Hi guys,
I'm not able to install some AOSP apps in a stock HTC Sensation RUU. I've cooked it in a ROM, but beyond that, changed nothing; just so I could flash it via CWM and not loose CWM Recovery.
But the app doesn't install. I've tried everything:
Installing it normally - application not installed
Installing it via Root Explorer in /system/app - app does not install, even when I reboot. I have set the correct permissions
Flashing it together in the ROM, both in /data/app and /system/app - does not install.
The only thing I haven't tried is flashing it after flashing the stock ROM in CWM. I'm going to try that now.
So, people, any solutions? Installing the app works fine in Android Revolution HD, so it must be a file in that ROM that is affecting this. Installing other AOSP apps (such as Browser or Calculator) in the stock ROM works fine.
RUU info:
ROM name: 1.35.401.1
Android OS: 2.3.3

The app in question is the contacts app.

Hello fellow Android users,
I am currently using Cyanogenmod 10.1 (nightly) on my GT-I9300, and have this nice app: Cyandelta to update very easy and automatically via TWRP.
Now I'm running into this problem: when I update, I lose this app Secure Settings, that I converted to a system app via Titanium Backup.
The reason I converted it to a system app is because it then gets more functions available that i need. The alternative is installing the "Secure Settings Helper'', but everytime I reboot my phone this ''Helper'' has to install again (god knows why).
My question: is there any way I can get the app to stay on the phone after flashing the update?
I've researched about flashing the APK via a zip file, but it didn't seem easy to do. That way i could let Cyandelta flash it automatically after the ROM. But it would be easier if the app just would retain on the phone.
Thanks
Hi everyone...
My first thread here so PLEASE go easy on me!
Im running the Synergy ROM and I love it. One of the main reasons I went with a custom ROM was because I kept getting an error saying no space available when I would go to install a new app or when the Play Store would push an update to an existing app. I installed the ROM and still go the error. Before I did the install I backed up all of my apps with TB.
I went to restore my apps and I still had the error. I found a way around the error... found a not so legal app to help fix my error. I dont mind installing the app ONLY because I used it to fix my error not to get around any licences.
Anyway... once I got the error fixed all of my apps restored except the stock apps. My only problem is I want the stock Verizon Voice Mail app.
I have been able to zip up the entire file from TB BUT me being a newb... I dont know how to extract the app from the zip. I looked in the file and I dont see an APK?
So what I'm asking is can someone either help me get the app extracted from the zip I have from TB or can someone post the stock APK?
Please and thank you in advance for any help.
