Hi !
After a freeze, I rebooted my phone (KG6) to found out that applications on the SD card were grayed (no more icons).
I connected the phone to my PC to found out that some folders had been renamed ?!
Android is now Andzoid, dropbox is [email protected], and GOSMS is GOCMS ?!
And when I try to rename Andzoid to Android, it doesn't work, the R became a Z automatically. I tried from the phone, it did the same.
Any clue ? Thanks

You have data corruption. Copy everything to PC and then reformat SD card and copy everything back
I'll do that, thanks !

Hi I recently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with the Resurrection Remix ICS v.1.9.1 ROM and everything went fairly well except that my external sdcard looked like it had been totally erased. While this was irritating it was not devastating (had a backup) but when i attached my sgs2 to my computer to copy the backup back to the sdcard i noticed that everything was there, i hadn't lost a single file. I went back and looked at the card via my phone and it still looks empty but i did notice (after further inspection) that it is almost full. I checked to make sure view hidden files was enabled, it was, but still nada (using OI File manager and File Explorer). I got no ideas would really appreciate any ideas on what i might do to fix this issue.
Cheers,
-Gaiko
[Q] I updated from ICS resurrection remix 1.7 to 1.8.1 and i got problems with..
Hi, thanks for the quick reply but i had tried those things (I shoulda mentioned that, sorry). I have tried combinations of use internal storage and MTP but still not able to see the contents of the exsd card (haven't had problems seeing the card itself, just the contents on the card).
Cheers,
-Gaiko
copy the contents of the sdcard to your computer, and format the sd card from your phone. Try again.

hi I tried to format it then copy a few things back on it but strangely it still shows up like it did before, that is, before there was one lone/empty folder that showed up (nothing else showed up through android, but i could see it via windows) but after i formated it, this folder (named "AudioBooks" that i had made before) still shows up when i try to look at the cards contents via android. This folder does not show up in windows, and nothing new that i copy to the card shows up in Android still.
Is there perhaps some sort of cache that i should clear as it seems to be showing me "bits from the past" (though also strange how it only shows me that audiobooks folder and not any of the 5 other folders that i had on there previously).
Any thoughts/ideas would really be appreciated!
-Gaiko
Maka a backup and restore original rom, and see if the problem persists. If not, you should notify a bug to Resurrection Remix rom developer.
Similar problem
I have had a similar problem. Been using RR last few months and all been good. Since I updated to RR 2.2 could not access my internal SD card. I had a few backups and as soon as I restored 2.1 viola everything's fine.
Tried using Siyah 3.2.7.2 and 3.3.1 kernels with no luck.
Have tried wiping everything and doing a fresh install with 2.2 but same issue. Did you have any luck?
Hi All,
I'm trying to copy old photos/videos from a Nokia phone to an Xperia Neo V phone, but I'm unable to get them to show up in gallery.
Xperia is running stock ICS, I've copied files to the SD into the DCIM folder (also tried the pictures/video folders) tried copying through file explorer and through Sony Bridge. I've tried deleting the data on the Gallery apps (both Android and Xperia).
I can see the files when browsing through Astro but they do not show up in the gallery apps.
Any ideas on how to get this to work?
Thanks.
have you tried to mount/unmount sd card, after you copy them?
Yes, tried that, i also tried restarting the phone but no images showed up
they are jpegs I assume?
use rescan media from the playstore
Try clearing cache and data (in Gallery's app info)
Thanks for the feedback guys, i tried all of that. I've deleted the .thumbnail folder, deleted the cache folders from android folder, used rescan nothing worked.
What i ended up doing is taking a backup of the card then formatting it, deleting the data from the both gallery apps and the media service, restarting the phone with the empty card, then copied the files back to the card which seemed to work.
Thanks for your help guys.

Hi
I sometimes face this problem with Neo V , i see no content in the GALLERY and MEDIA but when i restart the phone then it updates the media gallery so now i want to get rid off restarting the phone for the same. Any suggestion?
I've got a few films on my phone which play fine. But some won't show up on the pc as being on my phones sd card when I look at the folder. From what I can see the file types are the same as the ones that do show up.
I also have the problem that when I go to delete some files (some. Video some apk) they don't delete. It doesn't say there was a problem deleting them and the file size is 0 but the file name still shows. So they do not show up on pc do I delete them in the phone but they still show.
Hope this makes sense
Anyone?
Double post.
Don't know this could help
I have ever got this experience. I accidentally renamed some file(data) in phone Sd like original file name is "xxxx" to " .xxxx" after renamed I couldn't see that file from phone Sd even via PC(when usb connected) but I knew it still in Sd because it took lot of my internal Sd Space. I tried install root explorer app(your phone need rooted) and got into sd again now I could see that file then I could delete it successfully.
ive just tried to put a music track in a folder thats in my music folder in ext sd but its only showing a handfull of the folders.
so say i try to make a new folder and name it the same as the one im trying to put it in e.g "live" the folder wont rename . but i can rename it with a new name.
this is really winding me up
just noticed none of the things show up if i look vie kies either
a workable solution.....connect your SD to your PC via USB or SD slot....copy all SD content onto the PC....format the SD.....move it back to the phone....connect the phone to the PC via USB......move back the content to the SD
unmounted my sd , put it in my card reader , but my card reader must be faulty . put the sd back in the phone and all the files are showing up again lol
thanks for your help, i should have thought of that really

Same thing happened to me after coming from a Note 2. I think it's because they used different file systems. Anyway, I tried a chkdsk repair on the drive when I had it mounted on my pc. That recovered some of the stuff, but I lost quite a lot.
I had the same issue going from the Galaxy S5 to the Z2. My whole Camera folder on the SD card was wiped. Only about 300 photos... FK U Sony!
so there is no sulutions for this !!
Hi, you can go to setting, app, then camera, click on clear cache and date, then go to album, click on clear cache and data, then reboot your phone.
After that, it will be fine. pictures saved to SD card will not be lost again.

i know after format the sd or remove every thing it will be fine with the device i mean there is way to restore every thing like fix with out recovery apps
full app sd recover files for you guys
this is arestore or recover sd app full with key if you want to recover back all lost your pics from bad or formated or damage sony mobile files in your old sd for all you guys
In the future though, it's best to back up the contents of your SD card and manually format the card before inserting it into another device.
There's a saying in the world of storage. "If it's not backed up, it's not important".

A popup came up saying I am at 75% capacity, so I clicked transfer from internal to my sd card. But his message popped up. "Transfer Interrupted. Check you SD card for possibly transferred data."
I was wondering how I could continue my data transfer without this message popping up? I don't know what to check on my SD card to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

thr s just media that will transfer to sd-card so do it urself by file manager (file commander)
but if u think thr s problem in ur sd-card, format it by pc /FAT32

Ok. Ian going to do that, but I have another dilemma. so I downloaded my Google Play Music to my SD card, but my phone is saying the the app is taking up 11gb, which is why my phone is almost full. So does it get saved in both places? Should I clear data on my play music app?

no u don't need to delete anything now
just search them via file manager
>> If thr s nothing but still u get this problem then u need to delete everything by factory reset or repair firmware by PCC (recommended)
this kindda bugs are happening usually

I had the same problem with Xperia Z
In my case the problem were a few files created by DS Photo+ third party application. The files had characters within their names (colons) that are not allowed on FAT filesystems but are allowed on Linux/Android filesystems. This is why the app was able to save them on the Internal Storage but then the phone was not able to move them to the SD Card.
The solution whas to find and delete these malformed files using file manager application. After that transfer to SD Card worked like a charm again.
For reference: list of illegal characters for FAT filesystems: \ / : * ? " < > |
Good luck.
Malformed characters were the problem for me...
...specifically in the DCIM folder. My Z3 compact was adding a colon to some file names, worked like a charm once they were removed.
For me this happens when i take photo with hangouts, because hangout will create photo with special character in names. Just delete them and done.
This worked great for me! Thanks

Thanks!
how do you remove the semi colon guy?
I had a poblem with my sony Xperia m I think my settings are not correct it's always says transfer to sd is interrupted check your sd card for possible transfer data
