Turn Off OTA Update? - Motorola Droid X2

Is there a way to turn off the OTA Update notification on my ROOTED Droid X2?
Thx!

There is a thread already in the DROID x2 general (either there or maybe its in this subforum) about disabling the updater service

Droid X2 Camera Clicking

I was just wondering if this is normal? When I activate my camera, shortly after I press the icon I hear a faint click.

Mine does the same thing and my OG DROID did as well. I think there is something mechanical moving allowing the camera to turn on. I think its normal

Not sure if I'm deleting something I shouldn't but every time I use the P3droid root after about a day I get the error com.motorola.contacts and i can't get into my contacts. Anyone else run into this problem? If so how do I fix it?

Have you frozen or deleted anything? Usually messing with the authenticators does it

I've taken them all off, just not yahoo. No one has had that issue from taking those ones off. Plus I defrost all of them and the issue is still there...

If you want to pay for it. The apps you can download like wirelesstether require root.

Root your dang phone! Don't be scared.
There is a way without root! It's called pay Verizon more $$$

Even after you root your phone, there is still currently no way to turn the X2 into a wireless access point for free. You CAN set up an ad-hoc connection if your other device supports that. Most do not, except for a laptop running Windows 7.
However, there are MANY other advantages to rooting your phone, and it's not that hard to do.
I am rooted running eclipse.2 rom and tether using wireless tether to my windows xp laptop. Works great no issues. Google wirelesstether.apk for the app.

I will agree. Rooting your phone is key. If for nothing else but to delete the bloat apps with titanium backup. You can also create backups, tweak memory, run scripts. But mostly tether for free.

Root to unlock the full potential of your X2.
I know the advantages of rooting, I've had a og DROID, DROID 2 and DROID x all rooted and flashed, I just haven't really felt the need to root atm

Not an ad-hoc connection, huh? Is it the Eclipse ROM that's enabling you to do that?

PDA Net And EasyTether Are Both Free And Paid Apps For Non-Rooted Users.
It is an add hock connection, but works fine on xp. I even use my work vpn login with no issues.

[Q] Jelly bean Problems

I just recently I don't know 4 months ago installed Jeally bean on this phone and everything has been working real well up until yesterday. The 4G data just decided to not come on at all so i've been stuck on 3g the whole time with the droid razr xt912. Thankfully i have a older 4g phone as a backup. I checked my mobile data settings which i tried global and LTE/CDMA, I also Backed up root and completely formatted it still doesn't work and i even drove to a verizon store for a new sim card thinking that might be the problem but still it doesnt come up. Can someone please help me out as i would like to use my newer phone

I would try it out but the phone is having problems. I tried to use matt's utility for Droid razr Jellybean and seeing if installing a back up system would work but im not having any luck with it so I hope you can help me out
Sometimes it is just the local network. I had a phone replaced under warranty once because the network was down for an evening.
